The Almighty Tyrant - Chapter 66 Shi Trial Tower
It took Senior Yan and Shi Li a while to get to the rendezvous point for the Shi Trial Tower, but they weren’t the last ones to come.
With that, Senior Yan and Shi Li greeted the seven other people in the rendezvous point. After that, they went back to their own things, only greeting when a new person came.
Senior Yan whispered in Shi Li’s ear, explaining the whole situation of the Shi Trial Tower.
“The Shi Trial Tower doesn’t have any minimum requirement on a person’s cultivation, but since the Shi clan wants every clan member to at least come out safe, the minimum cultivation realm a clan member has to have is the Peak of Skin Tempering.”
Shi Li nodded and didn’t react weirdly at all. It was as if it was a matter of fact. Throughout this past month, not only was Shi Li engrossed in killing techniques and smithing techniques, there was also time for Shi Li to learn about multiple things he didn’t know about before. If he was at a high cultivation realm yet didn’t know something as simple as the name of a common herb, wouldn’t that just make him a laughingstock?
Not just that, in the times where Shi Li was free to do whatever he wants, he tried to comprehend the [Serenade of the Nine Heavens] so he could reach the Organ Tempering faster. In just one month, he has fully assimilated five out of the nine movements of the cultivation technique, putting him at the middle stages of the Third Stage. Even then, his strength exceeded the Peak of Skin Tempering anyway.
“Ten clan members, including you, will enter the Shi Trial Tower together even though all of you will be separated once you enter. Anyways, it’s not a bad thing to learn about the other clan members who’ll join you in this event.”
“Most of the members that’ll join you are at the Bone Tempering realm, but there are two people here at the Organ Tempering realm that you’ll join with. I’ll tell you a brief description about the two.”
Senior Yan then pointed to a guy who had well-toned muscles. Compared to Shi Li’s muscles, he was far beyond, holding a lot of strength in his body. He also exuded an aura that felt hot, as in a flaming kind of hot.
“This man is Shi Huoyang. He is at the First Stage of the Organ Tempering realm and has already formed his False Energy Core. He specializes in flaming attacks.”
According to what Shi Li knew from the lectures he attended, once a cultivator reaches the Organ Tempering realm, they can now try to absorb energy and assimilate it into their bodies as an orifice opens up. This orifice is called a False Energy Core, which will become a True Energy Core once the cultivator reaches the Creation realm.
But for someone at the First Stage of Organ Tempering, opening their False Energy Core at that stage is truly rare.
Senior Yan then pointed to another guy who had a dark vibe going on around him. His hair was black and his eyes were pitch-black, and for some reason, his body sheened a metallic black as well.
“This person is Shi Heishen. He’s currently at the Second Stage of Organ Tempering but he still hasn’t formed his False Energy Core. You shouldn’t underestimate him though because he reached the Second Stage of Skin Tempering by cultivating arduously with a Body Refining technique.”
Shi Li thought that this guy was some sort of person that liked the color black, but after hearing Senior Yan explain, he knew that it was probably a side effect from the Body Refining technique the guy cultivated.
Around twenty minutes later, the ten clan members that will enter the Shi Trial Tower, including Shi Li, was now complete. After saying words of good luck to Shi Li, Senior Yan left the premises.
‘I hope he doesn’t fail that early,’ he thought.
Shi Li took a deep breath before following the other clan members.
“Let’s do this.”
…
Shi clan, a place not far from the Shi Trial Tower.
Senior Yan pushed bushes away from him as he found a certain man to talk to.
“Xingwan, I knew you were going to be here,” Senior Yan chuckled.
Shi Xingwan let out a soft groan as he knew he was found out before forcing a smile. “Haha. Senior Yan found me. You know why I’m here right?”
He then urged Senior Yan to sit on the chair beside him, to which Senior Yan obliged.
“Of course I do. You’re nervous about your son’s performance right?”
“Well yeah. It’s the first time he’s ever entered the Shi Trial Tower,” Shi Xingwan’s teeth couldn’t help but clatter. “Are you sure you taught him everything he needs to know?”
Senior Yan frowned in a joking way as he said, “What? You think this old man didn’t teach him everything he needs to know? Bah!”
After a while, Senior Yan smiled. “Don’t worry, he’s not gonna fail that easily. He’s at the Third Stage of Skin Tempering anyway.”
“Third Stage of Skin Tempering? Him?” Shi Xingwan surprised to hear that. “Did he break through the Third Stage during the month you trained him?”
Senior Yam shook his head as he replied solemnly. “He broke through just three days after the tournament.”
“What?!” Shi Xingwan couldn’t believe it. He couldn’t help but look at Senior Yan, who was smiling.
“Xingwan, don’t worry. Just believe in your son.”
…
Shi clan, Shi Trial Tower.
The ten of them stood in front of a pillar that was tens of meters in diameter and instead of piercing through the skies, it went downwards, as if it was a deep chasm.
All of them gulped their saliva as they looked down. The pillar was hollow, revealing a dark space waiting to be discovered.
With fear numbing all of their senses, one person was forced to move and shout, “This is a once in a lifetime chance given to us. We should make use of it to the fullest!”
Without hesitation, the person jumped down through the pillar, screaming for help along the way.
With the first person becoming the icebreaker of the group, the remaining people were inclined to jump as well, with Shi Huoyang and Shi Heishen going after the first person.
They gave words of encouragement to the remaining clan members as they laughed and jumped down.
Not long after, it was Shi Li’s turn to jump. Gritting his teeth, he jumped off the ledge, entering the dark chasm of the pillar.
He didn’t scream at all, but rather he closed his eyes, waiting for him to land on the ground.
But all of a sudden, a soft feeling covered Shi Li’s body before disappearing after an instant.
With this sensation, Shi Li was forced to open his eyes to see what’s going on. Instead, he was greeted by a well-lit area that had an area of over a thousand square meters.
The floor, the walls, and the ceiling were covered in gray bricks while candles were hung from the ceiling.
Shi Li looked around and prepared himself, but he still shuddered as he heard a voice enter his mind and say…
“Welcome to the Shi Trial Tower.”
