The Almighty Tyrant - Chapter 74 Threats
“How are you, my son?” The woman asked Shi Li as she lightly smiled.
Shi Li was taken aback as he heard the woman call her name. If you looked at the woman at first glance, you would definitely consider her as a kingdom toppling beauty with her extremely beautiful face and perfect skin the color of white jade. Even though that was the case, Shi Li couldn’t help but look at her eyes.
Her eyes were normal, except for one thing. Her irises were crimson red, similar to the color of his pupils when he uses the interface, and also similar to the color of Senior Yan’s eyes.
But what set her apart was that her pupils were surrounded by black concentric circles, which couldn’t help but make Shi Li recall the time he met his bloodline’s progenitor.
The design on the progenitor’s eyes were similar to the woman’s eyes, being black in color, but on the progenitor’s eyes were trefoils rather than circles.
Once he saw that the eyes of the progenitor and the woman were somewhat similar, and the fact that she called him his son, it wasn’t weird for Shi Li to ask this next question.
“Mother? Is that you?”
The word ‘mother’ was stuck in his throat for a while before he could finally say it as it was a long time since he has met his mother. Even before his transmigration, the previous owner’s memories were only filled with his father and the other clan members, it was as if she didn’t exist in his memories at all.
It was quite awkward for him to say this rather than feeling sad and happy that he finally met his mother. He did want to see his mother since he made it his new goal, but he wasn’t sure if this is how his mother looked like in reality.
The woman lightly smiled and looked at Shi Li as she nodded. “That’s right son, I’m your mother. I’m sorry for leaving you.”
She tried to embrace Shi Li, but before she could do so, Shi Li hurriedly retreated, making her look at Shi Li with surprise.
“Is it because we haven’t met for a long time? Don’t you love your mother?” She put on a sad face as she asked.
Shi Li maintained a solemn expression as he replied, “I do. I’m grateful for what my mother has done to me since she brought me into this world. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I hate you or anything. It’s just that…”
“Are you really my mother?”
The woman didn’t really expect that Shi Li would ask that question, but this made her shed tears as she replied, “Of course I am! Don’t you remember me, my son?”
Shi Li went blank for a while as he rummaged through his memories. Even though he rummaged through his memories a while ago, he kept up an appearance in front of this woman before coming back to reality and shaking his head.
“I do not.”
The tears continued to gush forth as the woman even started to wail loudly in grief. Shi Li looked at this and thought, ‘She wouldn’t cry for a reason now, would she? I think I should give her a second chance.’
Shi Li came close to the woman and surprisingly, he took the initiative to embrace the woman rather than accept the woman’s embrace earlier. The woman stopped crying and looked at Shi Li in disbelief.
“I-I thought you hated me…?”
“I didn’t hate you,” Shi Li refuted, “It’s just that, it’s been so long since we’ve met. My memories of you are so hazy that I can’t even remember your appearance back then…”
“Mother.”
The woman looked at Shi Li and replied as tears started to pour down once more. “I’m sorry son, it was just…I was forced to go somewhere without even saying goodbye to you. I didn’t really want this to happen.”
‘For an illusion to say this, this is definitely top-notch acting,’ Shi Li couldn’t help but laugh inwardly.
Shi Li released his embrace as he took a few steps back and looked at the woman in the eye. “Well, to make sure you’re truly my mother, what is your name, and father’s name?”
The woman’s eyes slightly shuddered as she heard this question but she was able to answer within seconds. “My name is Hei Weiqiang, and your father’s name is Shi Xingwan.”
Now, it was Shi Li’s turn for his eyes to shudder. Even though Hei Weiqiang was her previous name, he remembered that Senior Yan told him that so that part was true. As for his father’s name, he truly wasn’t expecting that, but since he asked that, it meant that she was truly his mother.
“Why did you leave us? Where did you go?” Shi Li asked this next as she said a while ago that she left them as she had to go somewhere.
Hei Weiqiang sighed as she replied in a tone filled with regret, “I can’t say most of the things since I signed a soul contract, but it has something to do with a war.”
“A war?” Shi Li’s eyes widened. He truly wasn’t expecting this. “Where is the war happening?”
“Here,” Hei Weiqiang could only say speak one word before her head started to ache.
“Here? Like in here? What do you mean?” Shi Li was curious as to what she meant. If she was saying the truth, then this could mean that they were going to face a large disaster sooner or later.
At this moment, the woman couldn’t take it anymore and she started to disintegrate as parts of her body were turning into light particles.
The woman realized this and couldn’t help but smile as she looked at her son.
“What do you mean by here? What war?” Shi Li asked once more. He wanted to know if it would affect his life or the clan’s life.
“You’ll find out soon enough, Shi Li. Before I really go, I can tell that you still have your doubts against me being your mother,” Hei Weiqiang chuckled as the rate of her disintegration slowed down.
“Once you finish this test, cultivate as hard as you can and reach the Grand Principle realm at the least, by then you’ll have the power to protect yourself in the continent. You should also cultivate as hard as you can as I can feel a war looming in your clan as well.”
“Anyways, I hope we can meet each other reality…” Hei Weiqiang gave a wide grin as a tear fell from her eye before she continued to disintegrate completely.
After Hei Weiqiang dissipated into thin air, the whole environment also turned into tiny light particles before letting Shi Li return back to reality.
He felt the same feeling he felt in the second test as he tried to regain control over his body, but instead of focusing on regaining control, he was instead focusing on what his ‘mother’ said?
“War? In my clan? And here? Where is here?” Shi Li tried to think up of a plausible conclusion, but at the end he could only sigh.
A few seconds later, the tower’s mechanical voice spoke, announcing Shi Li’s score.
“Congratulations on cultivator for achieving…”
“A Perfect score.”
