The Alpha’s Companion - Chapter 89
“Are you sure this isn’t going to be a mistake?” Lacey asked as they headed out of the small dining room and up the stairs to their suite that Arkin had shown them earlier. They had a wonderful time with her real father and The Shadow Pack, but all good things must come to an end.
“What?” Julien asked as they reached the top, looking down at her with concern. “You mean the collaboration between our packs?”
Lacey shook her head. “No, I mean, The Shadow Pack coming to the castle.”
A crease formed between his eyes. “Does this have anything to do with Wyatt?”
She bit her lower lip and then released it, wanting to word it correctly. “Julien, I know how jealous you can be. Or at least how jealous you were when we first met.” Lacey let out a deep breath. “I don’t want you to get jealous just because my ex-boyfriend is here.”
Julien narrowed his eyes. “The only way I’ll be jealous is if either of you give me a reason to be.”
Just outside their door, Lacey wrapped her arms around Julien’s neck and looked into his eyes. “Well, I’m not going to give you a reason to be, but I can’t vouch for him.” I sighed. “And the way he was acting earlier, I just don’t want any misunderstandings.”
Julien raised an eyebrow. “Would you like me to talk to him?”
Lacey shook her head. “No, but I just don’t want to take the chance. Not with you nor our future.”
Julien swung her into his arms and carried her into their suite, and then closed the door behind them. “Lacey, whether you know it or not, you’re a very desirable woman.”
Lacey scoffed. “Yeah, right.”
“No, I’m serious.” Sincerity colored his eyes. “I’m a very lucky man.”
She placed a hand on the side of his cheek. “No, I’m the lucky one… to have you.” Then she wrapped her hand on the back of his head. “Come here.” When his lips met hers, electricity ran through her like fire, lighting every nerve in her body, enjoying being in the arms of this powerful, wonderful man. Then she whispered in his ear, “Julien, make love to me.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure you’re ready?”
She nodded as a smile lit her lips. “I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life.”
Julien nodded. “But we’ll take it slow.” Then he smirked. “No kinky stuff.”
Lacey chuckled. “We’ll save that for later.”
Julien laughed. “Hey, don’t make promises you don’t want to keep.”
“Who says I don’t want to?” She raised an eyebrow.
He sighed, carrying her into their bedroom. “It’s a good thing you want to do this. You’ve been driving me crazy, whether you know it or not.”
He laid her across the bed and lay down beside her, looking into her eyes. “If at any point you start hurting, let me know and I’ll stop.”
She nodded. “I will.”
His lips descended upon hers as his hands traveled down to her breasts, and his thumb grazed over her nipple as the heat from his hand burned her skin through her clothes. Then he slowly peeled her blouse away from her flesh, slipped it over her head, and then unclasped her bra, letting it fall to the floor, freeing her breasts.
Silently, she pushed him up, her fingers trembling as they fumbled with the buttons of his white dress shirt, anticipating the pleasure that was to come, feeling as if it were the first time.
He waited patiently while she unbuttoned his shirt, and then slipped it off, letting it fall to the floor beside her clothes.
She ran her fingers along his muscled chest, exploring the pits and valleys along the firm terrain. “Man, you’re gorgeous,” she breathed, and then slid her hands down to his pants, letting his shaft spring free.
His eyes filled with a combination of lust and love as he looked at her through his lashes, gently pushing her back onto the pillows. His lips crashed into hers, exploring her mouth as she parted her lips, taking him inside, tasting his sweetness.
Then he moved down the length of her body and slid his hands down over her skirt, undid the side clasp, and pushed it down her legs and onto the floor. A smile lit his lips as he slowly slid off her heels, one at a time. When she lay back across the bed, completely naked, he bit his lower lip and breathed. “God! You’re so sexy.” He shook his head. “Lacey, you’re the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever seen.
He looked over her body, as if wondering where he wanted to start. Then he kissed her inner thighs, and worked his way up to her hot, wet center, and his tongue danced over her bead, causing her to gasp, sending shoots of pleasure over her body. She arched her back, wanting more. He licked and sucked and fondled her until she was panting, wanting him now more than she had ever wanted him before.
“Julien, I want you,” she breathed, reaching for his shoulders, but his tongue danced, teasing her opening, and then entered, sending her over the edge as it shot in and out of her sex. When her breathing slowed, he slowly kissed up her body and then knelt between her legs and stroked his length, giving her full view, and then eased inside, carefully, slowly.
“Am I hurting you?” he breathed, his eyes filled with concern.
“No,” Lacey panted, wanting more, not wanting him to stop.
He pulled in and out of her, gently at first, but then harder when she pulled him to her, wanting everything that his body could give.
She nipped his shoulder and then he pumped harder, looking into her eyes. “Lacey, I love you.”
“I love you, too.”
Then fire engulfed her once again, spreading through her body, unstoppable as she arched her back in pleasure, calling his name. His hands slid to her legs, pulling her to him, his final thrusts sending him over the edge.
He collapsed beside her, spent, catching his breath. After a moment, he raised up to look into her eyes, propping himself up on his elbow, his long black hair falling over his shoulders. “Did I hurt you?”
Lacey smiled, enjoying the high of the afterglow. “No.” Then she laced her fingers through his hair. “You could never hurt me.”
And as his lips descended upon hers once again, she hoped it was true.
