The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 10
Jack stormed out of the dungeon without looking back. Violet had a way to get on his nerves very easily.
Or maybe he was just frustrated that she was from the Diamond Pack.
It wasn’t very hard to discover that. The dagger she was carrying with her had an unique format and the iron used to forge the blade was only possessed by them.
How could he be so unlucky to have a mate from the enemy pack?
He hated the Diamond Pack with all his might..
They had always been a very bad government, one that excluded the least privileged, took advantage of the poor, was corrupted and had a tyrannical and selfish leader.
When Jack joined the Rebels, he had no idea that they would choose him to be the leader one day.
He had joined them alongside his father, so since he was young, he always heard the stories about that stupid government, and how the Rebels lived to free the Crescent from their power.
That was a very reasonable and valid ideal to live by. Jack wanted to make their home a better place, but as long as the Diamond Pack ruled, he could never see that happen.
So he started to expand the movement, going after wolves from the resistance that were interested in joining their cause.
But it was very hard to find a way to prove how bad the Diamond Pack was.
Apparently, every single person that lived inside the walls had a different perspective from the ones outside.
That was very clear to Jack when he met Violet.
She was clearly trying to avoid him, which made him very intrigued.
Why would she do such a thing?
She almost begged that he stayed away from her and said she couldn’t do whatever they were doing.
And now, the conversation they had at the dungeon was even more clear.
Violet saw him as the enemy and probably had a very bad idea of who he was. She said that his reputation was well-known.
But what was it? How did they talk about Jack Morde inside the walls of the Diamond Pack? Was he really a threat to the government?
Maybe his actions were bringing results after all.
But now, he couldn’t stop thinking about Violet.
It was crushing his heart to leave her inside that cold dungeon, and also the fact that she was his enemy after all.
She was right. How could she abandon her family to be with him?
Why would she? Specially if she thought he was a bad person?
Every time he was in front of her, he just wanted to take care of her and do everything in his power to make her happy.
But he didn’t stand a chance.
And her being hostile to him just made him even more angry and frustrated.
Jack wanted to shake her and make her realize he was the one for her. But he couldn’t do it.
Using force with her would only make her hate him even more.
And he didn’t know what he should fight for.
Her love or the safety of his pack. For what he could see, he couldn’t have both.
He wanted to have her, but she wasn’t the best for his pack.
How could he manage to fight the Diamond Pack if they were Violet’s family?
Did he want to fight to get her love and affection, or to get information out of her about her pack?
That thought was making him insanely confused and upset. Why did things have to turn out like that?
Why couldn’t his mate be someone with the same ideals as him?
Jack entered his room and slammed the door aggressively. He went to the window and stared at the sky as he thought about what to do.
Maybe he could try to win her over, show his side of the story to her, show who he really was. Maybe she could see that he wasn’t so bad like she imagined.
Also, he could never kill Violet. Even if she wanted to do that to him, he didn’t have the courage to do it to her.
But he could keep her around, keep an eye on her until he could decide what to do with her.
Jack also couldn’t imagine allowing Violet to get back home and never seeing her again.
So she would have to stay at his mansion, but he would have to think of a good solution.
He couldn’t sleep knowing that she was by herself, trapped inside a cell like a criminal, even though it was what she deserved for trying to murder him.
Jack opened the door of the room and called one of the servants from the mansion.
A man came running on the hallway and stopped in front of his bedroom’s door.
“Did you call me, sir?” he asked Jack with a proud face, glad to help his leader.
“Yes. I need you to do something for me.”
