The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 22
The first time was a little painful for Violet, but she got used to it on the second and third time they had sex that night.
They were two young lovers being together for the first time, so they were pretty much on fire.
She didn’t even realize when she finally fell asleep against Jack’s chest.
It was the first time she had a perfect night of sleep, free of weird dreams and nightmares.
It was like she was on the only place she could be in the entire world. She didn’t want to be anywhere else.
When Violet opened her eyes, a thin ray of sunshine was coming through the window. Her legs were tired and a bit trembling, but she didn’t mind.
Jack wasn’t by her side though..
Violet frowned, trying to figure out where he had gone.
Did he go to his office and left her there, alone in his bedroom?
But at the same moment, a click on the bathroom door told her otherwise.
He was coming out with a towel around his neck, drying his wet hair. His chest was naked and he had another towel wrapped around his waist, which made Violet remember about a lot of things from the previous night.
That probably made her blush.
“Good morning.” he said with a beautiful smile.
“Hi. Hm… I think I should probably go to my bedroom and get ready to serve you, Mr. Morde.”
Jack’s smile widened even more.
“Don’t worry. You can get to work late today. I’ll make sure to punish you another time.”
He looked at her with naughty eyes as he approached her on the bed and placed a soft kiss on her lips.
Violet felt the butterflies on her lower belly wake up as well.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, putting his elbow on the mattress, supporting his weight.
Violet leaned against the bedside and looked at him.
It was really nice to have that morning talk with him, without worries and not having to be defensive all the time.
“I’m really good actually. It was a… perfect night.” she said a little embarrassed.
“Yeah, the best of my life.” he said nonchalantly.
Violet stared at him with more intensity. Did he really mean that?
“I wanted to ask you something.” Jack said changing his expression. He seemed worried somehow.
“What is it?”
“I’m really concerned about giving these drugs to you, to keep your wolf side asleep. I don’t know what type of side effects they could cause to your health on a long-term. I don’t really like that.” he said with an apologetic tone.
Violet kept looking at him.
“But I need to understand something, before I can think of a way to solve this issue.”
“What do you mean?”
“I never heard of anyone being able to shift while taking these drugs. The dosage is always the same, and it never failed. So, what I’m trying to ask is if your inner wolf is different somehow? Like, do you have any type of powers or anything?”
Violet widened her eyes, surprised.
Why was he asking those things? Did he really mean it when he said he was worried about her health?
But what they’ve been through on the previous night kind of changed their relationship. Right?
She should trust him a little more. She gave him something much more precious, and he was the best gentleman to her.
Maybe he could really help her.
“Well… I’ve always had this uncontrollable wolf, something I could never really control. When I was younger, I was trained to be able to suppress these powers, to not let the wolf side get the best of me, take the control off my hands.”
Jack seemed very shocked.
“What do you mean suppress it? Why would they do this?”
“Well, I seemed to be really powerful and no one was able to control it. Not even me. So I was dangerous. And Arden thought the best way was to learn to control it.”
“And how exactly they did that?” Jack asked still intrigued.
“I trained since I was really young. We faked some fights, I practiced some meditations to concentrate and not let the inner wolf release its powers. I don’t know if that make any sense.”
“It does a little, but what I don’t get is why they didn’t train you to be able to control your powers, without having to suppress it inside. I mean… If you are someone powerful, you should use it at your favor, right?”
“Well, apparently they didn’t think that way. And I was too young to have an opinion about that or even understand what that meant.”
Jack sat straight on the bed, and Violet couldn’t stop but wonder why he seemed so bothered about that matter all of a sudden.
“Do you remember what did you use to feel when you were able to express your powers? Was it very different from the other wolves?”
Violet took a while to think. It was really hard to go back to those memories, specially because she didn’t remember a lot of them.
“I always felt this massive force wanting to come out somehow, but I don’t know how to explain it.”
“Did you feel any connection with nature or an element?”
Violet frowned.
She vaguely remembered something about it, but she always felt some attachment with things related to nature. But how could he possible know that?
“What are you talking about? I’m not following.”
“Violet, if you had any type of connection with natural elements, that could only mean one thing.”
“And what would that be?” she asked impatiently.
“That you’re a sorceress.”
Violet’s jaw dropped open.
How was that even possible?
