The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 27
Violet was still looking at her hands in shock.
How was she able to toss Morgana away like that? How could Jack be right all the time about her?
She had never had any power before. Right?
There wasn’t any occasion where Violet remembered feeling anything similar to that. How were they able to make her hide that power inside for so long?
It took just one night for Jack to notice it. How couldn’t she?
“How can I be a sorceress?” she murmured.
Morgana was now walking around the room, waving her hand here and there to organize the place.
After everything was in place again, she stopped and looked at Violet..
“I really don’t know. Since you learned how to suppress it really young, maybe your body understood that this should be kept inside.”
“How did you learn it? To control it, I mean…” Violet asked curiously. She was really interested now that she knew she was the same thing as Morgana.
The woman looked at her like she was considering if she should tell Violet the truth or not.
But apparently she opted for the first one.
“My mother was a very powerful witch. She fell in love with my father, who was the Beta of our little pack. So I was born a hybrid.”
“A what?” Violet asked confused.
She never heard that word.
“A hybrid. That’s what we call the wolves that were born from parents of different species. A witch and a werewolf, for example.” Morgana explained.
So that’s what Lucinda couldn’t explain to her on the previous day. So sorceresses had parents from different species.
That’s why the witches didn’t accept them.
So that meant that one of Violet’s parents was a werewolf and the other a witch or a wizard. That made her really excited and moved.
For the first time, Violet knew something about her real family, and even though it wasn’t a very detailed information, it was enough for her.
Violet was so into the conversation, that didn’t realize how Morgana was when she was not serious or angry.
She was even more beautiful. Her skin shined and her eyes were kind.
But Violet wasn’t going to fall for that. Morgana still didn’t trust her, or liked her.
“Anyway, they never wanted me to feel alone or different, so they taught me how to defend myself and how to improve my abilities. My mother was very powerful, so she was a very good teacher to me.”
Violet felt a little jealous of that story, but it was inevitable. It was hard to hear stories of happy families while she barely remembered hers.
“I know it will be very hard for you from now on, but you looked very powerful a few minutes ago. We just need to make sure all this energy doesn’t go to the wrong place.” Morgana said going straight to her table and looking for some books.
Violet stood there just watching, glancing at her hands once in a while, still not believing what she was capable of doing.
“What are we going to do?” she asked after a few minutes in silence.
Morgana was still searching among the many books she had, and Violet didn’t want to disturb her.
“First, you will read some books. They will teach you some history about witches and sorceress among the decades, and will also show you how powers can change depending on who is in its possession.” Morgana explained piling up a few thick books with dusty covers.
Violet almost huffed.
Books? She wanted to take action.
“Don’t make that face. This is really important for you. It won’t be of any help if you keep yourself out of control and with a bunch of powers you don’t even know you have.” Morgana said as she released all the books on Violet’s arms.
It was very heavy. But Violet wouldn’t complain. She was already impressed that Morgana was treating her like a human, instead of anything else.
It was the first time they were able to be in the same room without her spilling bad words against Violet.
“In a few days, we will meet again to train a little. I’ll think of something. You can go now.”
Violet nodded and walked in the direction of the door.
“Don’t try to do anything while you’re studying alone. The books are for you to read, not practice. I’ll know if you disobey my order.”
That sounded pretty much like a threat to Violet, but she didn’t care. She was really excited to have something different to do for a change.
But how was she going to study and work at the same time? Should she talk to Jack about it?
However, they were very weird with each other. She didn’t know how to act before him.
As she pondered if she should wait for Jack to come talk to her or if she should visit him, Violet started to take her way back to her room.
Her mind was full of ideas and hurting with so many new things she had learnt about herself. She was also missing Jack a lot, even though it didn’t have been long since she had seen him for the last time.
She missed talking to him, kissing him and feeling his hands on her skin.
Violet was pretty scared with how she was thinking about Jack all of a sudden.
Not that she didn’t think about him before, but ever since they slept together, she started to fantasize about things she had never thought before.
She started to think how she wanted to know everything about his life, how she wanted to share everything about hers.
Even some weird and terrifying ideas came to her mind, like getting married and raising a family with him. She had to shake her head a few times to delete that memory.
How could she think of such thing? Was she falling for him?
She couldn’t. She would only get hurt.
Violet tossed the books over her bed and went to the shower immediately.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she finally saw the mess that Morgana made to her face and body.
Her nose and mouth was full of dry blood and she could also see some bruises on her arms and ribs.
The excitement made her numb for the pain, but she was pretty sure as soon as she laid on the bed, she would feel everything she could from that beating.
Violet put her underwear and only a large shirt she found on the drawer, and got out of the bathroom, brushing her wet hair.
But she dropped the brush right after, when she encountered Jack’s figure inside her bedroom.
