The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 32
“Wait! What?” Violet asked, but Morgana was already gone.
What the hell was that?
Violet was left alone outside for the first time since she was caught and made a prisoner.
What did that mean?
Was Morgana testing her somehow? What should she do?
Thousands of thoughts came rushing inside her mind. Violet squatted down and grabbed her head, trying to calm herself.
She was having an anxiety crisis. She didn’t know what to do.
Should she take the chance to escape and go back home? Did she want to go back?
But what about Jack? She couldn’t leave him now, could she?.
Could she be happy without him?
They had agreed to trust each other. If she tried to escape and was caught in the process, Jack would never trust her again.
Never.
Did she want to risk that? Could she be free at home? Could she be happy there, under Arden’s supervision?
Suddenly, a noisy from something breaking took Violet back to reality.
She widened her eyes startled, trying to comprehend what was happening.
Was Morgana back?
She got up and looked around, trying to see behind the thick trees.
“Morgana?” she asked in doubt.
“Violet, it’s me.” a male voice came from behind her, and she turned abruptly, with her heart beating like crazy.
And what she saw made her freeze in shock.
“Lance?” her voice barely came out.
She could not believe what her eyes were seeing. Was she imagining things?
“I finally found you.”
Violet looked around terrified. Morgana was coming back at any time now.
What if she saw Lance there? She wouldn’t hesitate in killing him.
“Lance, what are you doing here? You have to go!” she said already pushing him away.
The man had come near her and grabbed her arms.
“What do you mean? I came to rescue you.”
Violet instantly reminded about what Jack had told her. Someone was around, trying to get her out. Was it Lance all the time?
People would be after him. Jack had been out all day to make patrols with the other members.
How was he even able to pass unnoticed?
Violet couldn’t focus on Lance. She was too afraid that Morgana would caught her talking to him.
“Lance, what are you saying? They will kill you. I can’t go now…”
“How are you? Did they hurt you?” he asked scanning her body.
“No, I’m fine. Please…”
“Did you kill him?”
Violet got confused for a while.
For a moment, she forgot what he was talking about.
She coughed to recompose herself.
“No, I… They made me a prisoner. I couldn’t…”
“It’s ok.” Lance interrupted her, grabbing her cheeks. “We have a plan. We’ll kill him and get you out.” he stated with confidence.
“What do you mean?” Violet couldn’t think properly.
“We are working on a plan to kill Jack. Arden kind of knew you hadn’t been successful on your mission.” Lance explained.
Violet felt a hidden sarcasm under his voice, but chose to ignore it.
There were more important things going on inside her mind at the moment.
“Lance, you have to go. I’m not here alone. She will be here soon.”
Violet pushed him again, but Lance didn’t seem to want to go.
“Why don’t you come with me? There’s no one here now. Let’s go back home!” he repeated.
Violet gulped.
“I can’t. They will know I escaped and will retaliate against the Diamond Pack. I don’t want to risk that.”
“But you are willing to risk your life?” Lance raised his brow.
“I’m okay. They won’t hurt me.” she replied.
“How could you possibly know that? They are the enemy, Violet. They won’t be that tolerant with you.” he said angrily.
“I’m here, aren’t I? I’m not hurt, right? If that was the case, I’d already be dead. Just trust me, I’ll be fine. Please, you have to leave.”
At that moment, she heard a loud noise coming from behind the trees. It sounded like some heavy logs falling on the ground.
Was that Morgana?
“Lance! Now!” Violet whispered scared.
He had to leave. Morgana could kill him with just a wave of her hands.
And Violet wouldn’t be able to protect him, because she still didn’t know how to use her powers.
She didn’t even know what she was capable of yet.
Lance looked in the direction of the noise and seemed to realize it could actually be dangerous to stay there.
“I’ll be back for you.” he whispered back and turned to leave.
Violet was only able to breath again when she was certain Lance was really gone.
But Morgana didn’t show up.
What had been that noise then?
But the time went on, Violet couldn’t understand where Morgana could’ve been.
Hours had passed and she didn’t come back for Violet.
Had she returned to the mansion and left Violet in the middle of the woods alone?
What was she planning then? Was she really testing if Violet would escape?
After hours waiting, Violet started to feel hungry and decided to come back to the mansion without Morgana.
She even tried to call out for the woman and searched in a few places nearby, but there was no one.
If Morgana came back and didn’t see Violet, she could explain later that she was tired of waiting and didn’t find her.
The fact that she returned would be enough, right?
But as soon as she entered Jack’s house, something caught her attention.
As Violet walked down the hallways, she had a glimpse of someone coming out of Jack’s office.
And her heart stopped beating when she saw who that was.
It was Morgana.
And she seemed extremely satisfied with herself.
She didn’t see Violet there, because she took the opposite way.
But Violet almost fell on the floor when she saw who came out of the office after Morgana.
It was Jack.
And he seemed about to murder someone.
