The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 46
“What do you mean what I want to do about it?” she asked intrigued. “Don’t you have a plan?”
“Yes, I do. But I wanted your opinion first. He’s your father after all, and as much as I want to destroy him, I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you.” Jack said with kind eyes.
Violet just wanted it all to be over so she could be with him without having to worry about anything else.
“I really appreciate that. I didn’t really have any idea about it though. I just saw the documents and came running.”
Just then, she remembered the pain she felt when she saw those files. She didn’t have time to digest everything, not even suffer because of that..
Her eyes were burning as tears started to appear.
She did not want to cry, but it was too much for her to keep it inside.
“Come on, baby. You don’t need to pretend you’re not hurt. Just cry all you want. I’m here.” Jack said sitting on her bed and wrapping her in a hug.
Violet leaned her head against his chest, unable to say anything. And she finally let all those tears fall down.
Jack caressed her hair as she sobbed uncontrollably just thinking about everything that she had experienced being Arden’s daughter.
She did have a great life, despite the fact that she was forbidden to do a lot of things.
But since she didn’t know all those things were bad, she didn’t suffer that much. It was all the same for the whole Diamond Pack, so they had to be free of that government for sure.
But her personal side, her emotional side, couldn’t believe what Arden had done to her and Lance.
How could he be so cold to raise the children of people he killed out of greed?
“I don’t… know… how he could do that to us.” Violet said between hiccups.
She felt Jack breathing really deep before he answered.
“I wish I could say something to relieve that pain, Vi, but I can’t. But I’ll help you get over it. And I’m sure your future will be great, so you won’t have to think about the past anymore. I’ll make sure of that.” he said against her hair.
Violet raised her head slightly just to look at his eyes.
They always calmed her after all.
“Thank you.”
“You know what… After you left, I realized how stupid I was for not telling you that I loved you back.”
Violet frowned.
“What?”
“Well, I apologized to you on the night you said you loved me, but then I got drunk and you came up with that whole idea for the plan, so I…”
Jack was looking deep inside her eyes, with the most intensity she had ever felt coming from him.
Violet’s stomach was on fire and her heart was beating like crazy.
“I love you, Violet. I can’t imagine living my life without you anymore. When I woke up that day and you weren’t there, I almost lost it. I had no idea if I’d ever see you again.” he said with a low and hoarse voice.
She could feel how sincere he was just from those words.
With one hand, she caressed his cheeks and his hair, and pulled him for a soft but passionate kiss.
“I love you. And I won’t ever leave you again. No matter how hard you want me to.” she smiled.
“I would never want that.” he answered with a smirk.
“Well, you may change your mind once you live with me for too long. I can be really nosy and annoying.”
He shrunk his shoulders.
“I don’t mind. I can even give you my place as the Alpha if you want. I trust you, more than anyone and would never leave you out of anything.” he concluded.
And Violet felt the happiest she had ever felt in her entire life.
She tossed her arms around his neck and pulled him again for another kiss, a more urgent one this time.
She even forgot about her sore body. But it didn’t matter.
She was exactly where she wanted to be.
When things were getting too heated, Violet had to stop Jack, otherwise they could be caught by someone in the ward.
Jack didn’t seem really fond of the idea of stopping, but Violet pushed him anyway.
“We can’t do this here. We are in the middle of the hospital.” she explained.
He shrunk his shoulders again.
“It’s not really a hospital. And I could tell everyone to just get lost while we do it.” he smiled.
She gave him a weak slap on the arm.
“Come on. We need to solve other things first. You said you had an idea of how to deal with Arden. So what is it?” Violet asked curious.
After pulling himself together and straightening his hair, Jack sat on the chair again and leaned against it.
But his eyes continued to focus on her.
“I thought about spreading the files on the newspapers all over the Crescent. It would obviously cause a rebellion on the continent, and they would force Arden to abdicate.”
“It is a really nice idea.” Violet nodded.
“The thing is, if he doesn’t abdicate, people will probably start a war to get him out. He has a really powerful army by his side. And we worry about the members from the Diamond Pack. I don’t know if he could use them as hostages or something like that.”
Violet was shocked.
“Do you really thing he would go all this way, even if everyone wanted him out?” she asked in disbelief.
“Honestly, I don’t know what he would do, Vi. He’s a very unstable and cold man. He could simply run away, but it’s hard to tell what goes on inside his mind.”
She nodded.
“Yeah, I know what you mean. Either way, that would be his choice. We won’t kill him, but we have to show the rest of the Crescent what he had done. It is up to them what they want to do.”
“Are you sure?” Jack asked for her confirmation.
“Even though I’ll be indirectly responsible for this, he has to pay for what he did to everyone. He killed my family, and Lance’s, and God knows how many more families he destroyed. He can be my adoptive father, but he is also a murderer. And I want justice for my parents.”
