The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 84
Jack was clearly caught off guard, because as soon as Violet jumped on him, he looked at her completely surprised.
But she didn’t care. She was too happy to care.
She started placing kisses all over his cheeks and lips, and kept repeating the words “thank you” over and over.
“Why are you thanking me? I didn’t do it for you.” he lied, trying really hard to hide his smile.
“I don’t care why you did it. I’m just extremely happy that you did. Thank you!” she continued to give him kisses, still laid on top of him.
“If I knew I had to do this to receive so much affection, I’d have done this earlier..” Jack said finally surrendering to her charms.
Violet leaned on her elbows and looked at him.
She was missing him so much that it hurt.
“I’m honestly really happy. You have no idea how much this means to me. I know you don’t agree with my ideas all the time, but thank you.”
Jack raised one of his hands and put a strand of that golden hair behind her ear gently.
“I do have an idea actually. I’m gonna keep an eye on him though, and if he tries to do something, you already know what I’m going to do, right?”
She nodded aggressively.
“Anyway, I’m giving him a chance. Only one. We’ll try to go after Arden or some of his men.”
Violet sat on the bed suddenly.
“Really? That’s why you decided to take him in?” she asked.
“That too. But as much as it displeases me to say, I actually think he’s being honest. So, let’s see.” Jack confessed shrugging his shoulder as he sat as well.
Violet could see how he struggled to say those words. And she appreciated him even more.
“Did you also hear about him and Lucinda?” Violet was really dying to talk to him about that.
It was actually a very good news in a long time. She was probably more excited than the two of them.
Jack widened his eyes, suddenly remembering about that fact.
“I did. He told me actually. What are the odds, right?” he laughed, thinking that it was actually funny how fate played tricks on them.
And just like that, they saw their relationship getting back on track.
They were both missing each other immensely, and Violet didn’t feel like fighting with him ever again.
The possibility of an end of their relationship was surrounding them for the last weeks, and that didn’t feel good at all.
That wasn’t something they wanted. So they had to work harder to keep that.
Violet glanced at Jack, trying to find the right words to say.
“I’m really sorry. For everything.”
But Jack shook his head in denial, staring at her with his eyes and making Violet lose her mind in a split second.
“No, I am sorry. Sorry for being a jealous and rude boyfriend to you. I think I’m not really good at this relationship thing.”
Violet caressed his cheeks and his hair gently.
“You are. You are better than what I could’ve dreamed of, actually.”
Jack grabbed her neck with one hand and pulled her head closer to him, putting their faces together, their foreheads touching.
Violet gasped in surprise, feeling his scent inebriate her senses and his eyes making her legs tremble, even though she was seated.
“Promise me you’ll marry me as soon as this is all over?” he asked.
Violet felt her heart make a leap inside her chest, and she didn’t know why. It wasn’t the first time they talked about marriage.
“Is this your way to ask me to marry you?” she joked.
But Jack was actually pretty serious all of a sudden.
“Yes, it is! Will you marry me, Violet?”
And then she felt like her heart was going to explode.
It was the most simple, unexpected but romantic proposal she could ever ask for.
“Yes!” she yelled, jumping on him again. “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!”
Jack started to laugh because when she jumped, they almost fell from the bed. If Jack hadn’t hold her, they would be both on the floor.
He grabbed her face and made her look at him again.
“I love you. With every part of my soul.” he uttered.
“I love you too. I can’t believe I’m such a lucky woman to have you in my life.” she said.
“I can’t wait to start our family with you. You’ll have the most badass family because you deserve nothing less. I promise.”
It was a cheesy conversation, Violet was well aware of that, but she didn’t care.
That moment was theirs, and nothing could ruin it.
And she felt very touched with Jack talking about them creating their family together. She knew what he was thinking, because she had lost her previous family.
But now they would have the opportunity to have one on their own.
For the first time in months, she felt like she could live a happy life with Jack. And it felt incredible.
She forgot for a while about all the problems on the outside world, and they had the most amazing night.
The make up sex felt like something out of the universe, and Violet realized how much she was missing him, having him with her in the most primitive and vulnerable moment.
And when the sun was rising, and they were still awake, Jack got up from the bed and took a small box from the pants he was wearing before it ended up on the floor of his room.
And Violet could not believe when she saw that inside was the most precious and stunning ring she had ever seen.
And when Jack slid it through her finger, she felt like the happiest woman in the world.
