The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 88
Violet looked from Jack to Lance, and risked to glance at the other members to see if they were just scared as her.
She wasn’t imagining that they would meet so many of them there.
It shouldn’t be right. Maybe Lance was wrong when he suggested that Arden’s men were there.
Maybe that was a little pack that lived in that area.
But then Violet analyzed better and saw that some of those men were familiar to her.
She recognized them from the palace and the streets from inside the walls of the Diamond Pack.
A few women were also there.
Nobody seemed to have noticed they were around.
Of course they were hidden behind trees and bushes, but even so, Violet thought they could sense their presence at any minute.
But since they shouldn’t be expecting to be attacked, everyone seemed to be relaxed and enjoying themselves.
There was a lot of chatting and laughter.
Violet saw Lance clenching his fists by her side.
“How are we going to attack them? They are too many.” Violet whispered to him.
She wasn’t sure if Jack could hear her as well, but Lance simply shook his head.
“We don’t have an option.” he replied with his voice at the same level as hers. “We’re here and they are much more than we could’ve asked for. Arden will be weakened.” Lance explained.
Violet risked to look at Morgana and Jack, who were standing a few feet ahead.
Morgana had extinguished her shining ball of light. They were back in the dark, despite the fact that the bonfire on the enemy’s camp was lightening up the night.
Jack looked back and made a sign with his head, and Violet sensed that a lot of the members who were behind her started to crawl and move around her.
They were changing their positions and forming an attack.
At any minute now, it was going to start.
She could feel it.
“Violet, maybe you’ll want to shift.” Lance suggested before he was replaced by a black wolf.
Lance had the fur with a lighter tone of black, but he and Jack were kind of similar in their wolf forms.
Violet looked ahead and saw that the black wolf, dim as the night, had replaced Jack as well.
Lucinda was by her side, and for the first time, Violet saw her form as a wolf. Her fur was brown and she was staring at Violet with warning eyes.
She let out a low roar, that Violet interpreted as an urge for her to change as well.
Violet did as Lance had suggested and let the caramel wolf take place. She felt instantly more powerful.
She could feel all that energy inside of her suddenly wanting to come out.
The contact of her paws on the soil awakened her magic that seemed to be kind of numb with her apprehension.
But now she couldn’t wait to use all that power on their enemies.
So, she waited.
She waited for Jack to give them a sign. The slightest cue they needed to finally act.
With her heart pulsing inside her ears, Violet stared at the black wolf in front of her, and suddenly, he turned his head mildly to the left, and they all understood.
Violet heard the roars and the paws scratching against the ground, and she forced hers to do the same.
As she approached the camping, a lot of heads turned to look at the newcomers, and many men shifted as they realized they were being attacked.
Violet forgot about the rest, she had to focus on what she should do.
Targeting a man she recognized as being one of Arden’s best friends, she focused on the soil under his feet and concentrated in transforming it into mud.
He suddenly couldn’t walk or move.
That’s when she took the opportunity to grab him with her teeth and throw him away. He felt under a tree, but she didn’t stay to see his condition.
She heard a howl at her right side and when she turned over to see who it was, she recognized Morgana’s wolf shape being attacked by two others.
When Violet thought about helping her, the most amazing thing happened.
Violet saw the fire from the bonfire rising up in the sky and attacking the two wolves in front of Morgana like it had a life of its own.
Of course Morgana was capable of taking care of herself.
So Violet decided to go after the others.
She made the roots of a tree levitate from the ground and hit five wolves at once. They all blacked out after being dragged away for a few meters.
Some other she levitated, joining forces with Morgana. It was something really incredible, and some of the members from the Rebels stopped just to watch them.
Tired of running around the camping, Violet stopped to catch some breath.
It had been a while since she had to use so much power at once.
And then she saw something that made her heart stop.
She recognized the brown wolf that had roared to her before the attack. It was Lucinda.
And she was about to get bitten by another giant wolf that was approaching her sneakily from behind.
