The Alpha’s Prisoner - Chapter 96
“They did what?” Violet asked feeling excited and sad at the same time.
She was extremely proud and happy for him, after all, it was something Lance was expecting since he was young.
It was also the best option for the Diamond Pack to be finally the pack it deserved.
Violet was more than sure that Lance would be an amazing leader, without such things as walls, war for power, and forbidding laws in his government.
But at the same time, she knew that it could only mean one thing.
“So, you’re coming back to live here, right? You won’t stay with us at the mansion anymore.”
Violet felt Jack’s hand grabbing hers as a sign of comforting.
She suddenly felt a lump on her throat.
“I don’t know. I… I’m not thinking clearly at the moment, so… I asked them to give an answer tomorrow. I think we should all rest a bit after tonight, right?” Lance answered.
She let go of Jack’s hand and crossed the hall, eager to give Lance a hug.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, Violet gave him an embrace full of feelings. She wanted him to know that she loved him, that she would be there no matter what and that she was extremely proud of him.
She hoped he could feel all of that from that sign of affection from her.
Lance reciprocated the hug with the same strength, and Violet finally felt that they were really brother and sister at last.
No more mixed emotions and misunderstandings in the way.
And it felt so good to know she had kept at least a part of her family intact.
“Go take a rest. I’ll ask a doctor to go see you and Jack. Your head must be hurting like hell.” Lance joked.
Violet nodded with a smile.
“By the way, did we have any casualties? Where is Lucinda?”
“No casualties, just some concussions in a few members. And everyone got back to the mansion, I think. I didn’t have time to speak to her, so I guess I’ll be thinking about it tomorrow as well.” Lance said feeling shy all of a sudden.
Violet laughed.
“Okay, I’ll be in my room then. Let me know if you need me for anything.”
Lance thanked her and left to his room as well, as Violet followed through the hallway she knew so well, this time with Jack by her side.
The doctor arrived right after they showered and made a bandage on Violet’s head, and gave Jack some medicine for the pain, since he’d probably heal the broken bones during the night.
Someone brought food, and before Violet realized, she was already sleeping very deeply.
The next morning, she woke up surprised, feeling weird to be in her room again after so long.
She didn’t think she would have the opportunity to come back to that place and actually feel safe.
But the events from the previous night made Violet be certain that things were going to change in the Diamond Pack for good.
“Morning, baby. Did you sleep well?” Jack asked by her side, still laid down on the bed.
“Hey. Yes, surprisingly, I did. And you? Are you feeling better?” she asked.
Jack nodded, giving her a morning kiss.
“How are you dealing with everything that happened yesterday?”
“I’m just trying not to think about it for now. I still can’t believe this is finally over.” she said. “I’m just gonna miss Lance.”
“Come on, we’ll be able to see him all the time. I bet he won’t leave that hideous wall up anymore, and we can all offer a peace agreement with the Diamond Pack. I know the Rebels will.”
Violet felt her heart exploding with happiness.
“Really? Will you really do that?” she wanted to make sure she heard correctly.
“Yeah. I admit that I was wrong about him. Lance is a very nice person, and I’ll be more than glad to have him as my ally.”
“And friend?” Violet teased.
She could tell from the way Lance and Jack had been lately, that they were getting along really well.
It was more than clear to her that with a bit more time, they would become good friends.
And she couldn’t be happier about that.
“Don’t push it, Violet.” Jack pretended to be angry, but his smile gave him away.
“Now come on, we need to find him to know if he needs any help.” Violet said getting up from the bed, ignoring Jack’s complaints about wanting to be in bed for a little longer.
As they got to Arden’s former office, which was now supposed to be from the new Alpha of the Diamond Pack, Violet could already notice that the decoration was being changed, and was a completely different vibe from before.
Lance was inside the room, giving orders to the guards and a few members that showed up to offer some help.
“Morning, love birds. What did you think?” he asked opening his arms and showing the office. “I thought we needed a more modern and happier decoration here. I wouldn’t be able to solve anything with those horrible things that Arden kept here.”
“Wait a minute. Did you agree to be the Alpha then?” Violet asked a bit surprised. “I thought you were going to think about it.”
“Well, I did think about it. The whole night. I could barely close my eyes. And I decided that I actually can do a lot of good things to the pack. I had a really nice example these last few days.” he completed looking at Jack with a meaningful glance.
Violet loved to see that.
“And what about Gwen?” she asked, afraid of the answer.
“I talked to the council.. She’s going to be exiled.”
