The Amazing Process For Marrying You - Chapter 85
Tia left Rere first because it was already office hours. Tia doesn’t want to take the risk since Bara is quite scary when angry. Tia feels like her soul will leave her body when Bara is angry. While Rere was queuing at the cashier’s desk to pay for her lunch with Tia,
a man wearing a blue shirt with tan skin looking at Rere. His eyes stared at Rere. The man’s eyes didn’t blink even for a second, afraid to lose Rere even if it was only for a moment. It was a coincidence that they met at this place.
Rere turned around and stopped when she saw a man blocking her path.
“Re,” the man called her name hoarsely, trying to smile even though he was nervous and shaking. When he meets the woman he loves, his heart beats faster, blood pumps harder, and his hands trembling. He felt like he met a ghost that snatches away oxygen around him and makes his heart moves louder than a tractor.
“Angga,” Rere softly called the name of her ex-lover. Rere dodged him but Angga quickly grabbed her arm. “What’s the matter?” Rere is annoyed.
“We need to talk.”
The cups of green tea in front of Rere and Angga were almost empty, but they were still silent. Rere was just waiting for Angga to speak while cursing her bad luck for meeting Angga in the wrong situation and time.
Rere occasionally glanced at the watch that wrapped around her left wrist. Rere was aware that they had been sitting for thirty minutes but they didn’t speak anything at all.
“Re,” Angga said, friendly with passionate love.
“What is wrong?” Rere asked with a faint smile. To be honest, she didn’t feel comfortable sitting with Angga.
“Would you like to order some food?” Angga said while pushing the food menu to Rere.
“I’ve eaten with Tia,” Rere refused quickly, rejecting the menu book that was being offered by Angga to her.
Angga swallowed hard because Rere’s attitude was still the same, bitter and cold. Angga wants her old Rere, the warm and spoiled Rere.
“What about a snack?” Angga busied himself flipping through the menu, thinking about what to order.
“Can you hurry up? I must go home since my children are waiting for me.”
Angga smiled meaningfully at Rere, “Okay, I’ll talk.”
“What do you want to talk about?”
“Don’t be so stiff with me, Re. Can you be friendly like when we were in college?”
“That’s our past. We live in the present now, not in the past. I am married. Can you stop approaching me?”
“No.” Angga shook his head. “You are the most important woman in my life. I’ve been looking for you for the past three years. My heart is long for you. I cannot forget you.”
“Bullshit!” Rere couldn’t believe it.
“I’m telling you the truth. You are always in my heart.”
“Come on, Angga. Don’t talk about this nonsense anymore. I’m sick and tired of hearing your love confession. I am married!”
“I know that you are forced to marry Dino, you don’t love him.” Angga held Rere’s hand tightly. Even though Rere struggled to free her hand, the man didn’t care at all. Angga only cares about his feelings. His love for Rere is timeless and sincere.
Rere just kept quiet and ignored Angga’s words. Her sharp eyes looked at Angga. There is no love, only hatred left.
“Why are you looking at me like that? Did you miss me?”
Rere smiled stiffly as she massaged her temples. A new problem comes after another. First, she had a fight with Dino, then she had another spat with Hanin, and now she even met Angga.
“Nothing. I only feel pity for you,” Rere said sharply.
The man just smiled. Not offended by Rere’s harsh words.
“Have you done?” Rere got up from her chair and hurried out of the restaurant.
Angga stopped her again. The man spread his arms, trying to block Rere.
“We haven’t finished talking, Re. Sit down.” Angga led Rere to sit back down.
“Speak before my patience runs out!”
“Good.” Aga nodded. “Why did you marry Dino?”
“None of your business!” Rere spoke firmly.
“It is my business since you are my lover.”
“We’ve broken up since that incident. There is no relationship between us anymore. I am the wife of Dino Putra Chaniago.”
“Stop lying, Re. I know you don’t love Dino. You married only for the sake of the child, you love me, not Dino. I know that you are forced by Bara to marry that man.”
“Stop acting like you know everything.” Rere hit the table to vent her anger.
“Relax. Why are you acting like a barbarian? Rere I know is a graceful and tender woman.”
“That Rere is long dead.”
“It’s true that time can change a person’s character.”
“Therefore you should know your place.”
“I know my place when I realized that you still love me. My name is still craved in your heart. I know that you just pretend to hate me. That night I acted under the influence of alcohol. Can we go back to how we used to be? We become lovers again and you divorce Dino. Let’s get married. I will accept Leon as my son.”
Rere got up and slapped Angga. Her eyes glazed over from the humiliation that she felt.
“Watch your mouth! I’m not a lowly woman.”
“Who said you were a lowly woman? You are an honorable woman in my eyes.”
Rere clenched her fists in anger. She almost cried because he realized Angga’s love for her was so big. Although several years have passed, his love never changes.
Rere feels sick because she can’t be with Angga. She realized that Angga made a mistake that night. The man had no intention of hurting her. Rere has long forgiven Angga. She had let go of what happened at that time. Angga never raped her. She just feels dirty and humiliated, so she avoids and stays away from Angga. The guy deserves a better woman.
“Kahlil Gibran once said, love is the only freedom in the world because love awakens the spirit of the laws of humanity even natural phenomena cannot change its course. Love is like a beautiful bird; it wants to be caught but refuses to be hurt.”
Rere smiled sadly while looking at Angga. The man’s self-confidence was very high.
“Hamka also said once, love is a feeling that must exist in every human being. It is like a drop of dew that falls from the sky, clean and pure. Only the land is different to accept it. If it falls on barren ground, the dew will grow, lying, deceit, and other despicable things. But if it falls into fertile soil, there will grow purity of heart, sincerity, loyalty, high character, and other praiseworthy things.”
“Do you want to be a love poet?” Rere was sick of hearing Angga’s words.
“For your sake, I will become a love poet.” Aga smiled proudly.
“You’re wasting my time!”
“Re,” Angga softly called Rere as he grabbed Rere’s arm. He couldn’t just let Rere go.
“Let go of me!” Rere’s eyes were sharp. Her murderous gaze made anyone who saw her have goosebumps.
Angga’s body trembled as he let go of Rere’s hand.
Rere sighed with a heavy heart. It was difficult for her to make Angga understand. Even though she talked until her mouth was foaming, her words were just a breeze for Angga. The man was adamant that Rere still loved him. Rere wanted to leave immediately but Angga stopped her again. The man was sane and insane at the same time.
“Aga, please …” Rere’s tone was softer and less assertive than before.
“What?”
Rere took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“Please don’t try to see me again ___________” Rere bit her lip then let her words just hang in the air.
Angga looked at Rere closely. He even raised an eyebrow to wait for Rere to continue.
“I don’t want to see you again. You may say that our meeting was fate, but to me, it was just a coincidence. Do not be too confident.”
“I know you didn’t mean it. Your eyes say otherwise.” Angga was firm in his stance.
“I don’t want to talk about us anymore. I’ve forgotten you. Let me be happy.”
“Your happiness lies with me, not with Dino.”
“To hell with your words. I am a mother, Angga. Leon is my priority now, I am not living by myself anymore. Open your mind. I’m a married woman. Don’t make me a lowly woman by coming to me.”
“You are not a lowly woman. You’re an honorable woman.”
“For you, not for anyone else. Please keep my honor as a wife and mother.”
“Tell me what Dino can give you that I can’t. You’ve only seen each other for a few months.”
“He gave me a child. Satisfied?” Rere was really fed up talking to Angga now.
