- Volume 1 Chapter 13 13. First Nations Call
When they arrived on the seventh floor and the door opened everyone was silent and slowly went out. Ada stared at the perfect nature and then with astonished face stared at Emma. ”How?”
Emma got closer to her and winked mischievously making the rest of people laugh. ”I am rich.”
Ada started laughing as well. ”How long did this take to make?”
Emma’s answer stunned even her grandson. ”Something over two months. Everything you need to know will be explained in two more days. I will have a life broadcast. For now, enjoy.”
Slowly they went towards the forest where already a bunch of first nations waited for them and started explaining.
Unfortunately not many came. Just a few hundred people and she sighed. Ada still stood there and was undecided about how to react. Emma smiled at her as only the two of them stayed with her grandson.
”Do you have some questions I can answer.”
”Yes, why all this? He said it’s just a project, but the way it looks…”
Emma sighed and stared at her deeply. ”If you know more people that could and should be here call them. But you can’t explain too much. And if they come they have to come with their whole family. Do you understand?” Her voice became thinge deeper as the last words left her mouth looking seriously at Ada.
”I need to make a couple of video calls. Some of them probably will need days to come. How can we handle that?”
Emma smiled. ”I will take care of that. They can arrive even today if they leave right now. The clock is ticking and we have something over 50 hrs left before the complete seal of this place.”
Ada patted her grandson’s hand. ”Go find us nice accommodation. I like a comfortable bed you little imp. I am too old to live in those houses. I just want to live comfortably now. understood?”
”In other words, get me a normal house?” he teased and run away. ”Grandma don’t worry I already took one of the best houses in the main village.”
She sighed and followed Emma to the ninth level. Here was a commanding room that was not open yet and then there was as well a humongous computer room, virtual reality corner and some other places that she couldn’t see behind large walls.
She sat down and started using it. The internet quality here was amazing.
”Chief, this is Emma Thompson. I think you need to talk to her and make an emergency call. Now!!!”
Ada had firm stare at the man that was maybe a couple of years younger than her.
”Elder…” he wanted to ask but suddenly saw a cute little woman sitting in front of the screen and having grave expression.
”I know what I am going to say now is impossible to digest, but the humans are getting retaliation from all sides. I made this project to save a few thousand lives and if you feel that your people are better dead then we don’t have anything else to talk about.” She straightforwardly shot at him hoping that he won’t get too angry at her.
He stared at her for a moment. ”How bad it is?”
”Bad enough to use all my wealth to buy this place and turn him into the shelter for surviving people. I did at first made this place just for my child’s sake, but what is the point if I can’t even more. I did my best. I am rich but not so rich to make a place for millions of people. Those that live here are already a bit cramped, but for the first nations and for Amish people I made two separate floors with different kinds of environment. Just for the sake of you all surviving. We have about 50 hrs until the final lockdown. Gather as many families as you can and I will provide fast transportation. I have everything that is needed for survival here please, do not bring to many things. Just hurry. And chief… Don’t speak too much. Neither they should…”
He understood and nodded closing the connection after she gave him her telephone number. She turned to Ada and smiled.
”Ada, could you do me a favor and see how many of your people know how to work and what are they good in. We need all kinds of skills. ”
The Amish were famous framers and survivalists but the origins are implemented into daily life so they could cooperate with other floors if they had a wish.
”I will make a list. By the way, I was a nurse. Just letting you know if there is a need.”
Emma shook her head. ”Enjoy. If you want to help us, you can teach some of your people the knowledge you have. We will soon open schools as well and everyone can learn something useful.”
They spoke bit more until their floor and Ada greeted her es she left for the forest where her grandson stood and waited for her with a big smile.
