- Volume 1 Chapter 40 Truth And Lies
She felt like she swam trough some kind of darkness or dirty water. Yes, it was water.
”Miss, are you ok? Come, let m help you.” She could see a beautiful face smiling at her while the man stood there and stretched out his hand to help her.
Her heart thumped loudly. She remembered this moment. It was when she met her husband the first time. He was right there when she almost drowned in the river after falling jumping in to help a woman that seemed to be in danger. The woman… She opened her mouth and whispered. ”The woman, please help her. I can’t hold her anymore.”
She held under another arm the unconscious woman that she didn’t look properly before. But now after glancing at her face, she knew when everyone met for the first time. It was right here. The two people knew each other already from start. But she fainted after that and forgot her face.
Now remembering these things she felt huge pain and darkness enveloped her again.
”Love, I have nothing on my name. But I will love you until I die. I promise. You will forever be my wife, my woman.” His words were sweet and at that time she felt like melting. But looking at his strange expression she felt scared. When did it start? Here? Or before? He hugged her tightly and she again switched to another scene.
”Baby, I really think you should not wear too short skirts.” His eyes looked coldly at the skirt that was just knee high. She already gave up on her short sleeves, shorts and some other things but now this… She sighed and nodded. But the next words made her feel even stranger. ”When you are at home, or shopping just wear comfortable clothes. No need to wear anything so stiff. I love you just this way. You work anyway from home, so why being so uncomfortable. If you have a live conference just wear some nice top as you are sitting anyway.”
She saw him coming in with the ugliest set of pants and shirts she ever saw, but the comfort and fluffiness were on another level. He knew she liked fluffy and comfortable stuff. So she accepted.
With time she developed all kinds of strange habits under his persuasion. But luckily she became pregnant and got a child. Strangely he never really was interested in their daughter. Just accepting her.
The darkness enveloped her and she suddenly relived the last moments of her past life. The anger, the desperation and the helplessness enveloped her whole being after she heard their hopeless words. But suddenly something changed. A small child rushed forth between the zombies and looked at her body. Actually, the woman shot her in anger and her father stood there and choked the woman in his anger.
She looked coldly at her father and pointed at her mother. ”If you just knew how to love her truly, she would have been savior for the human race. Now both of us will turn into zombies as well. Do you know why? She was the one that saved us not to become zombies. In her blood is the ultimate power. And even if we tried to extract it we wouldn’t be able to use it. She could give it to us only willingly. Her power. Her shield. Father, you sinned so much. you completely lost her now.”
She turned her head and saw a bunch of zombies approaching her body and her eyes slowly turned red. She jumped between the zombies, tearing them into pieces and then jumping onto her body and swallowing her bit by bit.
The man just stood there with the dead woman in his hand and stared at the red-eyed child in front of him. His eyes turned bleak slowly and he turned into a zombie as well and started eating the woman in his arms. Emma’s eyes lost the clarity of everything and in the darkness, she saw light coming slowly at her. It became bigger and bigger and enveloped her completely, blinding her.
She opened her eyes and saw the room and the tv showing the zombie progress. Her usually calm eyes turned unsteady as she tried to control her feelings, her hand weekly reached for the phone that crashed on the floor.
Everything turned around her. The dizziness enveloped her tightly and she was just sitting there and completely fainted. When Aisa found her on the floor she was already shaking in fever. After calling the doctor she found that he was over exhausted lately and she needs to rest for a few days. But when she opened her eyes she just darkly stared at him and then sent Aisa to training.
When she was completely sure that Aisa was gone Emma turned to doctor Stavros. ”Doctor, what I am going to tell you must definitely stay here. I need you to check for me on something…”
When doctor Stavros walked back to his hospital he had multiple blood samples Emma gave him. He knew if he could find a true antibody in her blood… He rushed back and locked himself in the lab not letting absolutely anyone there. Not even his own family members.
When Mario came back he was furious hearing what really happened in a time when he was gone. With brisk steps he entered her living room and saw her sitting on PC in beautiful uniform she ordered for herself and writing calmly on her PC. She rose her eyes and just gave him a nod.
Aisa came from the kitchen with one of the soldiers and planted a big cup of tea on a nearby table and a couple of bottles of water. Then she turned her beautiful eyes towards Mario and sighed. ”You should better not bother her when she is writing new programs. Even my father got scared one day when he stopped her because he needed freshly ironed shirt. She got so furious as she forgot what she wanted to write this she almost broke the whole house trying to kill him. Yes, do never make mommy angry. Under this small body, there is a huge dragon hidden. And that dragon is scary, trust me…”
She hugged her mother that automatically hugged her back with absent eyes and just patted her head. With distracted expression, she wanted to ask something but just turned back and started writing. ”Aisa, my one and only child, please eat something healthy but nice and come back home on time. Ok?”
Even in such state, she had time to give her nice advice. Aisa just kissed Emma one more time and then pushed Mario out of the living room and closed its door. ”If you want to help her… guard that no one is disturbing her. She found way to save more people and she needs to see if it is possible.”
Mario knew that Emma was extremely smart and he always liked to push her to edges, but in this case he will stay here and be her guard. ”If I have to be her guard and nothing more, I am still willing.”
He spoke loudly while two dark eyes viewed him from the corner behind a big tree. The shadow went to the hidden door in the wall and escaped. On strangers mouth appeared a terrifying smile. ”Indeed my wife. Except me, she doesn’t like anyone nearing her. I was right, she didn’t forget me so fast. Good girl, my Emma…” He spoke while laugh full of insanity echoed between walls…
