The Art of Chaotic Divinity - Chapter 253: Is That Boy Your Son?
Chapter 253: Is That Boy Your Son?
Ling Feng felt a sense of satisfaction in his heart. That despicable donkey truly deserved a beating!
However, he believed that the despicable donkey wouldn’t be so easily dealt with.
As the saying goes, “Good people die young, while troublemakers last a thousand years.” And that despicable donkey was undoubtedly the greatest troublemaker in the world!
“Seems like you actually know this black donkey,” Yan Cangtian chuckled heartily. “But this donkey is truly peculiar. It’s clearly a donkey, yet it walks upright, speaks human language, and, most strangely, possesses the strength of a demon king. It’s truly unimaginable how such a terrifying cultivation could belong to a mere black donkey. Could it be that the donkey has become enlightened?”
“Whether it has or not, it’s unquestionably the most despicable donkey in existence!” Ling Feng shrugged, showing no concern for the fate of the donkey. He continued nonchalantly, “Elder Yan, shall we return to Tianwei Academy?”
Ling Feng was eager to return to absorb the insights from the Sword Enlightenment Stone.
“Very well,” Yan Cangtian nodded. He naturally had no interest in getting entangled in the matter between the black donkey and the Tianmeng Chamber of Commerce.
It was truly laughable and lamentable that a well-organized auction was disrupted by a black donkey in the end.
“Woof woof woof…”
“Howl howl howl…”
Under the beating of dozens of experts, the black donkey was thrown into disarray with its chaotic howls. Nevertheless, the black donkey indeed possessed some ability. Confronted by experts, although it was left battered and embarrassed, it didn’t suffer any injuries. Instead, it kept on cursing with a foul mouth.
“Did I dig up your ancestral grave to deserve such a beating?
“Damn, you’re that one cuckold! Your big chested wife is incredible!”
“Damn it, you actually cut off one of my majestic strands of fur. I’ll reward you with a face full of golden excrement!”
This black donkey was undoubtedly of the shameless, top-grade variety. It would defecate with just a flick of its tail, fart at the lift of a hoof, and wildly swing its tail around to keep those experts at bay, fearful of getting a face full of excrement.
Ling Feng shook his head, realizing that the troublemaker probably wouldn’t meet its end; rather, it would leave the Tianmeng Chamber of Commerce with a mouth full of excrement, unable to voice their grievances.
As Ling Feng prepared to leave, they opened the door of the box to find an old man and a young man walking towards them.
The old man, tall and clad in a deep purple robe, bore a hint of excitement on his face as he strode forward.
Standing beside the old man was a young girl dressed in emerald green, tall and graceful, with a strikingly beautiful face. Her large, spirited eyes held a hint of playful mischief.
The duo was General Deng Xian and his granddaughter, Deng Yongshi.
“Old man, you’re still alive! Hahaha…”
Upon spotting Yan Cangtian, General Deng Xian, despite Yan Cangtian’s cloak, recognized him instantly and approached with immense excitement.
“Old man, how would I be willing to die if you’re not dead yet!?” Though Yan Cangtian’s words were rough, his excitement was unmistakable.
The bond of being good brothers[1] for decades was impossible to break.
Yan Cangtian removed his cloak and strode towards Deng Xian.
The two elderly men, both in their twilight years, embraced each other’s arms with excitement while exchanging smiles.
Everything was understood without a word.
The young girl in emerald green behind Deng Xian casted a glance at Ling Feng.
Deng Yongshi, always sharp-witted, deduced that since Yan Cangtian was her grandfather’s old friend, he wouldn’t require a mere Sword Enlightenment Stone to enhance his sword will. Thus, the one in need of the stone must have been the fella beside Yan Cangtian.
Furthermore, he couldn’t have been much younger than her either.
Deng Yongshi felt a twinge of dissatisfaction. The thing she had her eyes on was taken away by someone else.
She didn’t dare provoke her grandfather’s old friend. However, she couldn’t forgive the kid who stole her Sword Enlightenment Stone.
With her teeth gritted, Deng Yongshi gracefully approached Ling Feng.
“Hey!” Her phoenix-like eyes narrowed as she stared at him. Pursing her lips, she asked, “Do you have the Sword Enlightenment Stone?”
“What if I do, what if I don’t? It seems like none of your business, doesn’t it?”
Ling Feng rolled his eyes; trouble had come knocking at his door again. What a disaster!
“Hmph, so it’s you!” Deng Yongshi suddenly accelerated, lunging towards Ling Feng. With a swift motion of her jade-like hand, she aimed a palm strike directly at his face.
A trace of disdain crept onto Ling Feng’s lips as he condensed the Heavenly Dao divine inscription. Though this woman possessed decent strength, she paled in comparison to Li Bufan.
Comparing himself to her was out of the question.
With a casual palm strike, Ling Feng confronted Deng Yongshi, ready to force her into retreat.
However, Deng Yongshi abruptly changed her move. Her left hand struck out unexpectedly, seizing hold of Ling Feng’s cloak.
Ling Feng instinctively dodged to the right, causing his cloak to fall off and revealing his true appearance.
“Huh?”
Their eyes met, and Deng Yongshi, upon scrutinizing Ling Feng’s gaze, felt momentarily perplexed before swiftly striking towards his chest.
Unexpectedly, a surge of robust true qi pushed her back several steps instead.
Stumbling backward, Deng Yongshi bit her lower lip while glaring at Ling Feng indignantly. “You little brat, how dare you lay hands on me?”
Ling Feng nearly chuckled at the absurdity of the situation.
Am I the one who laid hands on her, or was it the other way around?
“Little Shi, no more nonsense!” Deng Xian sighed lightly as he saw his granddaughter causing trouble again. He waved his hand and pulled Deng Yongshi over with a suction force.
“Grandpa, that stinky kid bullied your granddaughter, and you’re helping him instead! Wah… waaah…”
Deng Yongshi immediately burst into tears, her eyes swirling with moisture. Her acting skills were undoubtedly top-notch.
“Alright, stop making a scene,” Deng Xian sighed with a bitter smile. His granddaughter had indeed been spoiled since childhood.
“Old Man Yan, it seems I’ve made you witness something funny,” Deng Xian remarked, glancing at Yan Cangtian before turning his attention to Ling Feng. He detected a faint scent of medicinal pills emanating from both of them and couldn’t resist chuckling. “Rumors in the imperial capital suggest you’ve gone mad. Who would have thought you’d settle down and start a family after all these years? Is that boy your son? Congratulations on having a child in your old age!”
Upon hearing those words, Ling Feng felt like he was about to spit out a mouthful of old blood.
What on earth is going on here?
Yan Cangtian turned to glance at Ling Feng, who wore a face full of resentment. Unable to contain himself, Yan Cangtian burst into laughter. “Old fella, you know I’ve only ever had eyes for one woman. Sure, I’d love to have a child with her, but do you think that’s even possible?”
“Uh…” Deng Xian’s expression changed. He knew all too well that the woman Yan Cangtian loved was the former most beautiful woman in the imperial capital, who had incidentally become the Empress Dowager and the biological mother of the current emperor!
“So, you still haven’t let go of her,” Deng Xian shook his head. The Empress Dowager and Yan Cangtian were destined to never be together. This old man was truly a madman. No, he was even crazier than a madman!
“We shouldn’t dwell on it,” Yan Cangtian’s eyes flashed with a hint of sorrow. The memories from the past were too painful to bear. This was one of the reasons he later immersed himself in the study of the Classic Formula of the Medicine King, hoping to divert his attention and forget those unbearable memories.
“Indeed, it’s best left unspoken, and we shouldn’t bring it up again,” Deng Xian nodded. This matter concerned the imperial family and should not be discussed further.
“Old Man Deng, I’ll drop by your dog’s den next time. I’ll take me leave first,” Yan Cangtian chuckled, his laughter tinged with a touch of bitterness. He turned to Ling Feng and gave a faint wave. “Kid, let’s go.”
Ling Feng nodded and left with Yan Cangtian.
1. Friends, not biological brothers. ☜
