The Assassin And The Alpha - Chapter 52
Kelly’s P.O.V
“Kelly. . .” A familiar voice could be heard but it sounded far away as though the person was 5 miles away from me. I tried my hardest to force my eyes wide open but after the 3rd time trying I felt the urge of giving up, that was when a comforting and soothing warmth embraced me.
“Open your eyes, my child.” With that sentence, my eyes instantly shot open and I came face to face with the origins of the familiar voice and warmth.
“Mommy. . . I missed you. . . Is this real?” I felt a lump of emotions welling up in me as tears were starting to form.
“No darling, I do not have much time. Stay away from your father, I do not want you getting hurt.” My mom said with a sad expression on her face.
“Mama, why don’t you have much time and I will stay away from that monster.” Questions started clouding my mind.
“Somethings are best for you to find out yourself, your father’s final goal is Emily, I know that she isn’t your real sister but make sure to protect her, once he gets his claws on her, all will be doomed.”
“I promise to protect her. I really missed you. . . When can I meet you again?” My voice was filled with sorrow as I asked her.
“Sorry child. . . I-I am not in the world of the living any longer. But always remember, mama loves you. I’ve got to go now my darling. I will always be watching over you. . .” The voice slowly faded as well as my mother, the smile plastered on her face was kind and loving, one that I had not seen in ages. The realization of her passing caused a deep stab in my heart, I knelt down and my hands held together while I brought it to my chest as my head hung low as I let out a cry. Tears were about to roll down my eyes but once it touches the surrounding it seemed to have merged with it instead. As I was about to wipe off the tears that were meant to fall, I realized that I seemed to be in a deep ocean as corals were around and fishes were swimming by. The water around me seemed to soothe the pain, the ocean water that was surrounding me felt exactly like the warmth I felt from my mother’s embrace.
I put my game face on and said to myself. “Mama, I will surely do what you ask of me, I love you.” As I know that she wouldn’t want me hurting and would want me to have a happy life, I will make sure that father won’t ever get Emily even if that means he has to step over my dead body.
“Kelly! Kelly!” A male’s voice could clearly be heard as I felt my consciousness being startled awake.
“Kelly! Wake up!!!!” Ryder was yelling right at my face while having an excited look on him.
I freaked out and the first thing I did due to natural reaction I head butt him.
‘Ouchhh. What was that for?” He fell backward on the bed as he rubbed the spot on his forehead that I’ve just hit. I ignored him and looked around at my surroundings, the room consists of a small table with a mirror, a computer desk, and a wooden closet. There was a small photo frame on the table as well with a couple of snacks.
“Where am I?” I looked down at the bed I was on and made sure that my clothes were all on me as I asked.
“Hey, hey, hey, you don’t have to check your clothes, I am a true proper gentleman alright. And you are in my room.”
“You? Proper? Who are you trying to trick? From head to toe, you reek of in-decentness.” I rolled my eyes and got out of the bed before he could do anything to me.
“Oof, you’ve just hurt my heart kel, why not you come here and kiss it all better?” He pretended as though his heart just got broke or was shot by an arrow and suggested for me to go and kiss it all better.
“Stop fooling around I have no time for games. Bring Emily to me.” I ordered as my eyes turned cold and emotionless. He simply pouted and crossed his arms across his chest.
“Nope, if you want to meet Emily then you’ll have to pay up.”
“Ugh what? What can you possibly want from me?” I groaned out.
“Hmm. ” He pretended to think before replying, “actually I have a lot of things I want from you, like your love for example. But not to push things too far why not just a peck on the cheeks?” He smirked and only God knows how badly I wanted to smack that smirk off his face.
“You asshat, you simply want to take advantage of me, forget it I will go find her myself!?” I growled out at him and was about to stomp out of the room.
“If you don’t want Alvin and everyone else to actually murder you then fine, even if you are the best top assassin in the world, you can’t possibly beat all the werewolves in the pack house, can you? Plus this is my house so without me navigating the way for you, you will be lost in just 10 steps.” He stated a list of facts which made me hated him even more due to him being right.
“You. . . Y-You are a big bully, I hate you!” I was so pissed till I was speechless while I pointed my finger at him while scolding him.
“Blah blah blah, like I’ve never been called worse. Now come here and give your mate a kiss.” He puckered up his lips and pounced at me. I might be still emotionally unstable but my reaction was still as quick as lighting. I dodged to the side causing him to fall flat on the floor face first kissing the floor instead.
“Hah, karma at its finest.” I laughed and he got up from the floor surprisingly not mad at all.
“Fine, fine you stubborn pig, come with me. I will bring you to find Emily.” He huffed as he opened the door room and walked out.
“You are the pig,” I mumbled as I followed behind him and started thinking about what I was going to tell Emily the moment I see her. My feelings were in chaos. How am I even supposed to feel about her?. . .
