“Ma… where is it?” yelled Zi Han on another morning of ‘where are my things that mum has absolutely nothing to do with but I would still ask her anyway’.
Zi Xingxi had never felt like strangling her kid this much until now. In fact, she couldn’t wait to ship him off at this point. Who would have thought that her child getting married would be this stressful?
“Sweetie, did you look in your closet thoroughly? I told you yesterday to pack your shit but no. You were busy on your light brain chatting it up with your sweetheart instead of packing and now you are asking where is what? Call your boyfriend to come to help you,” she said while sitting down on the couch and putting her feet up like she wasn’t bothered.
Zi Han, “…”
“Ma… I know I was wrong. Help me please,” he said while tugging her arm.
“Nope, don’t talk to me yet. I haven’t had my morning coffee,” she said as Yeoh Jun walked over with a steaming cup of black coffee.
“Give my wife a minute. She has been very tired lately… you know… making up for lost tim-,” said Yeoh Jun when a couch cushion came flying in his direction.
Seeing that grown man stagger backwards from that hit, Zi Han couldn’t help but stifle his laughter.
Zi Xingxi took a long sip of her coffee before closing her eyes and showing a content expression. Zi Han was very patient. He didn’t dare say anything until that cup of Joe hit the right spot.
…..
As soon as she appeared relaxed, Zi Han sat next to her and lay his head on her shoulder trying to act cute.
Zi Xingxi, “…”
Yeoh Jun couldn’t let this pass. He moved his son’s head off his wife’s shoulder and said, “Give your mom a minute she needs a break from you,” ready to back his woman as he should.
Unfortunately, he was also included in this don’t disturb me list. “You too. Run along. I need to recharge first,” she said and the two people were chased off the couch.
“I am starting to think I owed you something in my past life otherwise why would you always mess up my plans,” said Yeoh Jun his tone accusatory.
“What the hell are you talking about? When have I ever messed with your plans?” replied Zi Han a little exasperated.
What he didn’t expect though was that his father had a long list of times he had unknowingly screwed up his plans even before he was born.
There were times when he wanted his wife to kiss him but coincidentally, little fetus Han would kick and make a fuss causing his wife to feel sick.
Even sexy time was also ruined by the little one. He had been out all day and had been receiving text messages from his wife enticing him with sexy pictures and dirty texts. When he got home he took off his clothes from the minute he entered that door till he was left with only his underwear but when he entered the bedroom the dirty talking wife was fast asleep in bed and she was even snoring with half her body leaning over the bed.
When he asked her later she said that the baby was restless and she fell asleep after taking a walk. Now, he couldn’t blame Zi Han for that because he was an innocent little fetus who probably… maybe didn’t do it on purpose.
But even now he somehow managed to mess with their private time whenever he was around. He essentially became the third wheel, a light bulb that was constantly popping out of nowhere.
Whether it be watching movies, cooking together or going out shopping his son would pop out of nowhere and ask,
“Are you going out? Can I come too?” His wife wouldn’t have a problem with it. In fact, she would half hug him and drag him along almost in a chokehold.
If this wasn’t intentional sabotage then what else could it be? Yeoh Jun never thought that he would push his son to leave the house often neither did he think he would call his son’s boyfriend to pick him up.
What he didn’t realise was that these two had been each other’s backup for years and now that Zi Han was officially leaving the nest the separation anxiety was real. This was why Zi Xingxi would drag her son along whenever she got the chance.
This was the truth of the matter but Zi Han would never admit that mostly because he didn’t notice. Thus he denied it.
“I did no such thing,” he said and Yeoh Jun’s eyes widened.
He grabbed the back of his son’s neck with a force not so heavy or too light. “You are kidding me, right? You are like a sniffer dog. You always show up at the door just as we are about to do something. Like right now, I was trying to soften her to do something for me but here you are messing it up,” he said and Zi Han’s lips quirked while saying,
“You are imagining things.”
The two of them entered Zi Han’s bedroom which had things scattered in what one could only describe as an orderly mess. Zi Han sighed looking at all the work he had to do before leaving in three days for the beginning of the wedding festivities.
Yeoh Jun lay on the bed lazily while swiping through StarNet fully intending not to lift a finger to help his son. Even if he did help he would probably make things worse.
His fingers that were swiping up the floating screen suddenly paused and asked, “So that Yi kid is seriously going to keep this picture up,” his expression showing slight annoyance.
Zi Han who was picking up a box filled with miscellaneous things answered, “What are you talking about?” but he was fully aware of what he was talking about.
Remember when he decided to motivate Yi Chen by telling him to win and he would let him post what Yi Chen wanted to post but Zi Han never let him? After they left Lin’s private planet, Yi Chen made sure to post it and boy was it trending on StarNet.
