590 “Okay, I will try it only once,”
AN: Happy sunday. I have been exhausted lately so I am taking a day off. I will see you guys tomorrow. Thank you so much for your support.
Yi Zhen had never felt this much peer pressure ever since he graduated high school. That right there was a pole and a pole mostly used for exotic dancing so yes, this former marshal didn’t want to try it.
Zi Han found it funny that he was refusing to come over. It was just a pole for heaven’s sake. He should have let it go but he couldn’t let him escape. He turned to his father in law and said, “You are overthinking it, uncle Yi. There is an actual fitness training program called pole dancing. It helps with arm and core strength so you can think of this as a piece of exercise equipment like an um… what’s it called,” he said and Yi Chen who really wanted to see his father on that pole helped his wife out.
“Hang bars? It is just that hanging bars are horizontal, not vertical,” he explained and Yi Zhen just stared at his son as though saying do you think I am a fool?
Yeoh Jun tried to swing on his one arm like his son but failed miserably while saying, “Come on senior Zhen, it’s just a pole. What are you afraid of? Don’t be a stick in the mud and put a smile on those faces.”
As though grasping his meaning Yi Youxi and Ming Ming instantly wore sad miserable expressions playing along with this uncle.
“See, look at that. Who can say no to those faces, huh? What kind of monster?” he said and Ming Ming pouted her lips looking so sad her big eyes watery.
Seeing that face Yi Zhen couldn’t handle it. His sons he could brush off but his baby girl, not so much. He secretly got his nails painted by her once because he couldn’t say no. And when she was five and started preschool she asked him to babysit one of her dolls. She would leave instructions on outfit changes and feeding times. A big man his size obediently took care of that baby doll carefully until his wife made it disappear.
“Fine, I will try it just… just don’t tell your mother,” he said as he got up his steps reluctant. Yeoh Jun acted like the expert showing him how to swing properly though what he thought he looked like versus what he actually looked like was way different.
…..
Inside he felt like a trained professional but outside he looked like a toddler trying to copy his older brother on the monkey bars at the playground.
“Okay, I will try it only once,” he said and Yeoh Jun moved out of the way.
Yi Chen, his well-behaved son decided it would be an excellent idea to film it all and send it to his mother.
Yi Zhen was not aware of this. He awkwardly held on to that pole in a weird posture while Yeoh Jun instructed him like he understood how it was done.
Zi Han watched this shit show go down in silence while the two kids were laughing so hard that it was so infectious. After Yi Zhen had been laughed at by his kids so much he couldn’t keep messing around anymore. He let go of the pole and walked back to his seat wondering how on earth those people did it. This type of thing required talent.
“Han Han, show me how you slide upside down. I think I am ready to learn that,” said Yeoh Jun and Zi Han chuckled while grasping the cold titanium-gold pole. Zi Han was lifting his leg when Yi Chen grabbed him by the waist and picked him up before carrying him to sit down.
Zi Han, “…”
“Wait I haven’t seen it yet,” said Yeoh Jun but Yi Chen didn’t even give Yeoh Jun face as his father in law.
“You can learn from where he learnt it from, which is where?” he said turning to ask Zi Han the question.
“Aunty Lynn taught me but you have to pay a huge tribute for you to be her student,” answered Zi Han and Yi Chen continued,
“You hear that? Huge tribute and become a disciple. Han Han has no time to teach you. We have a concert to go to.”
Yeoh Jun, “…”
Yi Zhen, “…”
“Forget it. Who wants to learn? My wife won’t like it anyway,” mumbled Yeoh Jun only for Ming Ming to ask,
“Why would auntie not like it? It looked so funny so she will definitely laugh.”
Yeoh Jun turned to Yi Zhen and said, “I was wrong. Sometimes you need to rule with an iron fist and teach kids manners.”
Ming Ming, “QAQ”
Could anyone please tell her why she was getting punished just for asking a question? This uncle who seemed nice had actually stabbed her in the back in front of everybody.
Yi Youxi shifted his body slightly to fully take in his sister’s face as she got scolded but he accidentally touched a display scren and in front of him appeared a floating screen with several commands in colourful boxes.
As curious as he was he wouldn’t leave these buttons be. He discovered the moonroof and so did Ming Ming. It didn’t take long before the two of them were peering their heads through to take a look.
Yi Zhen tried to convince them both to get down but they remained unmovable and stubborn. He even turned to Yi Chen for help but the person ignored him his eyes set on Zi Han completely.
Yi Chen was resting his arm at the back of Zi Han’s seat but his body language seemed possessive and territorial which wasn’t so obvious to innocent eyes but to veterans it was apparent.
His arm was barely touching Zi Han but his aura, the look in his eyes and the slight movement of his fingers at the back of Zi Han’s neck, all spoke volumes.
Yi Chen tilted his head slightly and asked, “When did you learn all that? That was incredible.”
Zi Han who had barely scratched the surface showing only a few of the things taught by Lynn Feng scratched the back of his head embarrassedly while saying, “That’s not all I know. I know way more than that.”
Yi Chen laid back in his seat his muscles slackening as he kept his gaze transfixed on Zi Han. He had to admit it, this man made him weak. This man made his hard exterior mushy like a marshmallow for all the world to see.
