The Beast Tamed by the Villainess - Chapter 5
‘No, there were very few descriptions of Illyana Glaine.’
The only times she appeared was when she abused Magnus, feeding him Rei and neglecting him despite traumatizing him with nightmares.
Illyana didn’t show up anymore after that, except for when her family was executed, and when Magnus visited her after she had lost everything.
“Aah, I don’t know.”
I don’t know what’s what.
The novel seemed to describe many things, but looking at it in this perspective, it was all vague.
‘Let’s solve the important things first.’
What happened to this body isn’t really important. What matters is Magnus.
Because Magnus is my key to return to the real world.
‘The water’s warm…’
I wish it wasn’t warm.
Because then it would mean that this place isn’t real.
Now even more depressed, I relaxed my body and submerged my face into the water.
‘I should get used to this by now.’
I’d better hold my breath until I get someone who’s good with drugs. Before that…
I have to persevere until I get someone…
“Puha!”
I forgot to go into the water and close my eyes. I almost died.
“Cough, cough.”
It would’ve been a disaster if I was even just a little late. No wonder I was getting out of breath.
Perhaps because oxygen was supplied all at once, my eyesight got a little blurry before going back to normal.
The work to be done has been decided.
The first thing to do is to free Magnus from the brainwashing and drug addiction.
Then I’ll send him back to his place so he can become emperor, and I’ll go on a pilgrimage as if I’m walking on a religious path.
Once Magnus becomes emperor, if he comes back and I see him happy…
‘Then, can I go back to my world?’
It’s a morning full of worries.
* * *
A week or so after asking, I found a suitable drug broker. Being adept at drugs, he’s a little better than a doctor.
And today I’m taking him to visit Magnus. It’s the first visit in a week.
Of course, I didn’t want to die later because of my face, so I put on a tight mask and carefully wrapped a veil over it.
After putting on a long dress that didn’t show my limbs, I stepped into the cabin.
“Welcome, Miss Lyna.”
Magnus, with a very tense face, naturally knelt on the floor.
After seeing a man who thought it was normal to be on all fours, it made an impression.
Still, maybe it’s because he’s not drunk on drugs, but he seems better today.
‘You better regret your actions, me from the past.’
I should remove “The Tamed Beast’s Rebellion” from my bookshelf after I get back to my world.
Come to think of it, the title was tacky.
I deserve to reflect on the past me who rolled around laughing while reading such a thing.
Damn, it hurts my conscience.
“Get up, Ma… No, Mag.
It was hard to see Magnus, who was looking up at me from below, so I turned my head and said.
In my head, the Magnus that I knew was just drawing his sword, slaughtering his brothers and the Glaine family.
He looked up at me with his cloudy golden eyes, and slowly followed my orders.
It wasn’t an order, but it sounded like one to him. Even if Magnus and Illyana are only a year apart.
Of course, with Illyana being older.
“I’ve stood up.”
While Magnus was naturally bowing his head, I grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him to the bed.
When my warmth- to be exact, Illyana’s warmth- touched Magnus, his eyes slowly stabilized without shaking.
Magnus is here, longing for her warmth despite not knowing when it could come.
Because Illyana Glaine ruined the original Magnus and made him a beast that only looked at her.
“From now on, you don’t have to kneel even if I arrive.”
Magnus’ eyes widened at my words.
He trembled as if he had heard something he did not want to hear, then hurried down from his bed and knelt.
Another fear was engraved on his sparkling gold eyes. The wavering eyes were still hazy.
The sweet smell of ‘Rei’ wafted up from between his open lips. You can tell how much he ate consistently.
It was clear that he was given Rei little by little so that he wouldn’t die from drug addiction, rather than trying to make him suffer.
‘I need a lot of the antidote to completely detoxify that.’
That was the only antidote I had at the time.
And Illyana Glaine didn’t prepare as much as I expected.
“I- I… I was wrong. Miss Lyna, If I made a mistake, I will fix it. Please, don’t throw me away.”
“Mag.”
“It’s all my fault. I’ll correct it.”
Magnus bowed his head and shoved his forehead into the rug so that it touched the floor.
The 20-year-old Illyana who kidnapped Magnus was cruel. He was brutally tamed.
The original Magnus had a very fragile personality. A weak prince who couldn’t even say a word to his brothers because of his character.
The emperor would often say that he was so kind that he was loved by the servants of the palace, and that he was not born with the qualities needed to become an emperor.
He was so gentle that he could not kill even small animals. Though, because of that, he was often bullied.
Illyana destroyed that Magnus. In the end, he slaughtered everyone and took the throne.
Left in the dark for a year, she drove Magnus mad with terrifying nightmares and loneliness, and brainwashed him using her power to manipulate dreams.
He became a beast, and she imprinted herself as his master. And he was made to think that, if abandoned, he would be disposed of in a garbage incinerator.
Illyana tamed Magnus so that he could only covet her warmth and not react to anyone else’s.
Thanks to that, Magnus could sense Illyana’s warmth even with his eyes closed. Even with the touch of a hand, Magnus could recognize her.
And Illyana, too, could see Magnus even with her eyes closed.
That’s how she tamed him.
He could find relief and stability only in her hands, and only she could become his world.
In other words, to be abandoned was death for him. Illyana inscribed the fear of death on Magnus.
In just a year, she destroyed Magnus and completely turned him into a beast.
“Please don’t throw me away…”
My stomach churned at his mournful voice.
The brainwashing has advanced a lot more than I expected. If it’s like this, Magnus would be a lot more different once he frees himself of it in a year.
Of course, even after running away, suffering from all kinds of trauma, he clung to the heroine in search of the warmth that his tamed body longed for, which could only be met by Illyana.
The heroine would comfort him every time and hold him in her arms.
I leaned down and grabbed Magnus’ arm to lift him up. Magnus does not resist and rises.
Standing slumped, he, for some reason, seemed uncomfortable just being on his two feet.
“I won’t abandon you. Mag.”
Iliana treated Magnus, who was always desperate to live, with a grown-up tone, to soothe him like a child.
“I’m just… Yes, I’m just giving you a new order.”
“Order…”
With just one word, Magnus’ golden eyes became even more cloudy.
Honestly, I didn’t want to use this word, but it was clear that Magnus wouldn’t be able to calm down otherwise.
“There’s someone here who’s come to check your health. Just sit still on the bed. And make sure you close your eyes. Never, ever open them.”
If Magnus opens his eyes, Carl would see his golden eyes.
Golden eyes are proof of Imperial descent. And I don’t really want to tell Carl about that.
“Okay. Are you going somewhere else, Miss Lyna?”
Magnus asked, while very weakly holding the hem of the dress that was sweeping the floor, not even my sleeve.
I wasn’t really thinking about that. His trembles were full of fear.
“No, I will be here.”
“…Really?”
“Really.”
“Alright.”
Magnus answered in a softer voice and sat down gently on the bed.
He placed his hands on his thighs in an upright posture. He looks much taller than me, but he can’t even move freely.
‘I think I know why in novels, when raising assassins, they are either an ignorant child, or someone who had gone mad.’
When ignorant, a domesticated animal cannot bare its teeth to master.
It was the same logic with how wild elephants could not escape even as adults if they were shackled for a long time.
‘Magnus deserved to kill Illyana.’
Although he imprisoned her instead of killing her, it’s better to think that she’s dead.
That’s why I have to work hard at the temple. If I work hard on penitential prayers and cursing the writer, maybe one of the two will come true.
If God has a conscience, that is.
Leaving Magnus behind, I turned around and went towards the door. I could feel a gaze from behind me.
“Close your eyes until I say you can open them, Mag.”
“…Okay.”
The gaze that followed disappeared. When I opened the door, there was a man in a robe waiting outside.
“Come in, Carl.”
“Yes.”
A man with burns all over his face always wore a robe, except for when he showed them for a while to let us verify his identity when we first met.
His skin was half-melted as if it had been burned badly. He didn’t seem to want to reveal his face.
He blocked the sword for a while with his arm as it tried to go through the door.
“For payment, as I’ve said, if you heal him completely, you will be given 50 gold bars, with the condition that you never tell anyone. If I hear even just a little news…”
He lowered his voice.
“I will make sure to do as you say by any means necessary.”
