The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 10 Drama Arena
I woke up before my alarm went off at 5 am.I usually go jogging first thing in the morning so I got up and changed into my running gear .I grabbed my earphones, phone and a bottle of water from the kitchen on my way out.I was praying thatKyle was still asleep but then I heard the sound of a strumming acoustic guitar drifting out from the windows upstairs- so I guess he was awake. I plugged in my earphones and put on some music to keep me motivated during my work out session.
I started jogging along the beach but the sand made it a bit difficult so I decided to jog on the the road. I turned into a secluded area and stopped to stretch my muscles a bit and continued jogging on the deserted, steep road. My phone rang and I answered using the hands-free. It was Andrew.
“Morning Andrew. Talk to me,” I said out of breath.
“Morning Miss Walsh. I can hear you’ve been doing your early morning routine? I just wanted to inform you that we will be landing on Friday morning as scheduled. I managed to contact Miss Rita Anderson’s parents and they will be be coming as well. I have made all the necessary arrangements.Herboyfriend Mark, seems to be off the grid though. However, I’m still trying to track him down”he reported.
“Don’t worry about him Andrew. If he doesn’t want to be found then we will just have to leave it at that,” I said dryly.
“I also checked into a few properties for sale in Capetown and an Estate agent will be contacting you this morning. I have also spoken to Rob Stewart from our Security department and he will also be coming with so that he can carry out the investigation on the shooting personally. Then Steve Connor will be coming to replace Richard.Just like you requested.Emma, Miss Anderson’s ‘s PA, has requested permission to accompany me as well? Did I leave anything out? Is there anything else you would like me to do?” he asked. That’s my Andrew. Just so efficient. I don’t know what I would do without him.
“Tell Emma she can come. I’m sure we can use an extra pair of hands. We will talk more about finding a donor for Rita when you get here because I want her family to make that decision. I’m really-” I stopped talking mid sentence.
I noticed a blackVW Golf was driving slowly by behinf me.It had suspicious looking characters inside. They were staring at me like a lion stares at its prey. They pulled over to the side and jumped out and walked towards me.All my instincts told me to run but where would I go, I was surrounded by a forest and the road was deserted.Plus I was outnumbered. There was three of them and I only had..well.. me. I was not familiar with this area and they would probably chase after me in their car so I didn’t stand a chance. But I ran none the less.
“Miss Walsh? Miss Walsh?! Are you okay?” Andrew panicked when he didn’t get a response.
“Code Red!” I shouted to Andrew, “I’m about to get ambushed by three viciouslooking men! Help me Andrew!” I cried out in distress, running as fast as my legs would allow.
“I’m on it Miss Walsh. Help is on the way. Stay on the line” Andrew said in his calm voice, “Keep them talking. I’m going to call the police and then Kyle since he’s closer to you. I already tracked your GPS location. Help will be there soon, just stay on the line as long as possible” he said trying to calm my nerves.
The road was built on a steep, slopey area and it was surrounded by a dense thicket of trees. My only option would be to run through the woods. Which wasn’t much of an option.
Needless to say they caught up with me just as I was about to make a quick getaway into the woods.
“And where do you think you’re going?!” One of them said harshly as he grabbed my arms and pinned them behind my back, causing me to wince in pain. I wouldn’t let them see that I was beyond terrified.
“We remember you from the club the other night. We read in the paper that you’re some big-shot, loaded business woman.I’m sure you can spare a couple of million in exchange for your life?” He said blowing cigarette smoke into my face.
“Sorry that will never happen,” I stated calmly.
“Is that so? We will see how much your people are willingly to pay after we send your body parts to them piece by piece,” He threatened, “but first we need to sample the merchandise,” he said getting close to me.
“We will show you what we do to girls like you,” the other one said as he put his hands under my tight vest and dug his fingers into my soft flesh until I cried out in pain.
They laughed finding it amusing, and he didn’t let go but intensified the g started twisting my arm until I cried out again. He trailed his rough grimy hands down my already exposed stomach and started drawing circles around my navel. He looked at me and gave me a smile that made my blood freeze. He was so repulsive that I spat in his face causing him to retaliate by giving me a back slap in my face. Then they took turns beating me up. Slapping me. Punching me in the gut. Yanking my hair.
“Right, listen here beautiful one. It’s really simple. We just need $50 million. We’re not asking for much,” the abuser said as he produced a gleaming Swiss knife from his pocket.
“You’re dumber than I thought!” I spat out. The hold on my arms tightened. The pain shot through my body.
“What did you say?!” He said with athreatening look.
“Do you think anyone will give in to your demands?” I said sarcastically.
“We need to take a photo with her and send allher contacts. Find her phone” one of them commanded. I panicked. If they searched me they would find my phone and Andrew was still on the line. They started going through my pockets and they found my phone.
Fortunately they did not know how to unlock myIPhone and I refused to give them the code, so they threw it into the woods, without so much as a glance.
“So if you are not willing to cooperate with us then we will be forced to make you,”the abuser said with a smile on his face as his fist came crashing into my stomach again. Two of them took turns making me a punching bag until I fell on the ground. Then they used me as a soccer ball. I felt my bones crack as they came into contact with their shoes. I was slowly losing consciousness when I heard an all too familiar shout out.
“Let her go!” Kyle commanded as he got out his car and strode menacingly towards us. I could make out his security detail standing all around with raised guns.
I heard my perpetrators scurry but I heard gunshots being fired and my abusers joined me as they fell on the ground, clutching their legs and squirming in pain.
Kyle rushed to my side and lifted me up gently. Cradling me to his chest.
“Amaya, stay with me,”he says softly, “I’m going to take you to the hospital right now. Stay with me baby,” he pleaded.
He carried me back to his car he laid me down gently at the back seat and jumped in through the other side. He laid my head on his lap and ordered the driver to step on it.
