The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 25 Panic Attack
KYLE’S POV
Maya and Rita seemed to take forever in the bathroom. Almost half an hour had passed and they were not back yet.I decided that it was time for us to go home so I was going to extract her out of there myself.
“Hey, have you seen Rita?” James walked beside me.
“They disappeared into the bathroom ages ago, so I’m going to bust in there and drag Maya out if I have to,” I laughed.
“Women,” James said as he rolled his eyes.
We stopped in front of the door of the Ladies Room and knocked loudly. No response.
“Maya-are you in there babe?” I called out.
“If you don’t come out of there now then I’m coming in.”Still no response.
I pushed open the door, cautiously and peered in. There was no sign of them but their clutch bags were on lying on the ground, the contents scattered all over.
James and I rushed inside and checked behind every door but they were all unoccupied.
Fear clutched at my heart as I knelt on the floor and picked up Maya’s bag and stuffed all her belongings back into it.Then I noticed a phoneblinking under the counter.I knew it was Maya’s before I reached out for it.
“Is that..? James asked.
“Yeah,” my voice choked up.
“Somethings not right Ky,” James looked around for Rita’s phone and couldn’t seem to find it anywhere.
“I’ve got to alert security,” I said as I rushed out.Something had happened to them and I had to find out what exactly.
So far all evidence pointed to an abduction. They were somehow abducted and I was right here, under the same roof. How could I let this happen? I should have checked on her sooner, maybe I would have managed to stop it somehow.
“But, how did this happen when Steve accompanied them to the bathroom. I saw him tailing behind them,” James asked.
I stopped walking and leaned against the wall, trying to quell a panic attack. If anything happened to her I don’t know-I would surely die of heartache.

“Hey, we’re going to find them okay? Just breath,” James put his hands on my shoulders.
“I don’t know what I’d do if something happened to her,” I pulled at my hair, willing myself not to panic.
“We will find them okay?” James said in a soothing voice.
I wish I could believe that but right now I didn’t even know where to start looking. Who could have taken them and why?
“Let’s check the security footage first, maybe we can find something there andI can call Richard to help us out with the search,” I reached in my pocket for my phone and dialed Richard’s number.
We found the security surveillance room and we were going through all the footage. We couldn’t make a police report because 24 hours hadn’t passed so we decided to take matters into our own hands.Richard told us that a tracker was placed in Steve’s phone and it was standard procedure for all security staff.Let’s hope he was dumb enough not to remember that.
The security guards combed through the area, looking for any bit of evidence that could give us a lead. Finally we found something on the surveillance tape. The footage showed Steve walking out with Maya draped over his shoulder and Mark had Rita in his arms. They lumped them into the back of the boot like excess baggage, jumped into the carand drove off at high speed.
“Steve has been working with that sleaze ball all along.” James clenched his jaw.
“Seems like it,” Richard muttered as looked at the screen intensely.
“That bastard! I’m going to kill him!” I seethed as I fisted my palm.
Maya and Rita were clearly unconscious, their bodies were just limp and they seemed so helpless.I hoped and prayed that he wouldn’t hurt them.
Tonight was supposed to be a celebration. It was supposed to be the happiest night of my life and yet somehow our joy turn into deep, dark sadness.I couldn’t lose Maya now-not after she just agreed to become my wife. That was a huge milestone in out relationship. I didn’t even think she would agree-I just took a chance tonight and it was worth the risk.
I had to find her. I was willing to give anything-everything to bring her back. She was my love, my life, my heartbeat. I couldn’t imagine my life without her.
“So do we go to the cops or..?” James asked.
“I think we should. They would know what to do and they have access to more resources,” I replied, “What do you guys think?” I looked around.
“I’m okay with that Mr Kinley but-I would like to continue with our separate investigation, if you don’t mind. I have to at least do something,” Richard looked determined.
“Yeah, no problem. I’m with you on that one,” I sighed deeply, “So please call the cops.I don’t think I can talk about this whole ordeal again.”
“Sure, I’m on it,” Richard pulled out his phone.
“I’m going outside to get some air,” I said to no one in particular.
“I’ll come with,” James offered.
“I’m sorry Jamie, I know you’re worried about Rita. I know how much you care about her,” I said as I looked up at him.
“That’s okay… At least you got a chance to declare your undying love to Maya, whereas I was still barking enough courage to even say hie to Rita,” we laughed.
“You’ll get your chance dude. I just hope you don’t waste it again,” I smiled weakly.
“And you should drag Maya to the nearest marriage officer and make it official,” he smiled back.
“I intend to Jamie. I intend to,” I said softly.
“Yeah, I know,” James replied.
I paced up and down the car-parkwith my hands in my pockets. Deep in thought. Trying to think of how to find them or where they could be.Then my foot stepped onto something hard and I stooped to see what it was-it was Maya’s ring. I picked it up and held it in between my fingers and the diamond glistened under the moonlight.
“That her ring?” James asked quietly.
I nodded. My whole body was numb with pain. I closed my fingers around the ring and put my fist against my forehead. The ring must have fallen off during the kidnapping.
The cops pulled into the car park and we rose up to meet them.
