The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 43 Happy
Maya’s POV
Kyle had just jetted in and I agreed to meet him on neutral ground so we had agreed to meet at Per Se on Upper West Side. One of my favorite restaurants in Manhattan.Expectations are high at Per Se—and that goes both ways. You are expected to come when they’ll have you—you might be put on standby for four nights, only to win a 10pm Tuesday spot—and fork over a pretty penny if you cancel. You’re expected to wear the right clothes, pay a non-negotiable service charge and pretend you aren’t eating in a shopping mall. The restaurant, in turn, is expected to deliver one hell of a tasting menu even more pretty pennies. And it does. Dish after dish is flawless and delicious.Fortunately, I knew the owner and always managed to book a table without any trouble.
Kyle was already seated when I arrived. He looked as handsome as ever-I got goosebumps just looking at him. He was wearing a dark grey suit with a pastel pink shirt, that he had left unbuttoned and it exposed part of his tanned chest. His hair was messy and sexy at the same time. This was going to be difficult.
I decided to wear a simple black Coco Chanel dress with a plunging V-neck and it was floor length.I accessorized with diamond studs and a matching bracelet, my neck was left bare and my cleavage revealing just enough.I had asked my hairdresser to let my hair flow down my back.
“Hie babe. You look beautiful-as always.” Kyle stood and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
He pulled out my chair for me and pulled his chair closer to mine, before he sat down again.
“Thank you.” I pushed in my chair.
“Thanks for coming..I’ve missed you.” He took my hand in his and looked into my eyes.
The waiter came to take our order and I asked him to give us a few minutes.
“Okay-I’m not supposed to say that first so let me start again. Amaya Walsh-Kinley-I’m sorry for walking out on you.I shouldn’t have left in the first place. I know I was pissed but I should have stayed and we could have talked about it and-and resolved the issue. I’m sorry babe. Really I am. I know we spoke about this on the phone but I just needed to say it again.”
“Kyle-”
“I know what you’re going to say-and no it’s not because you’re carrying my child. I love you babe. You know that.I never said I wanted out..I just needed space. I’m still new at this marriage thing and I admit that I may have overreacted a tad bit-but I felt like my opinion didn’t count. You never asked me how I felt about the issue-not once. Even if you didn’t like what I was going to say you could have at least asked me.We’re in this thing together and I want to feel like I have a say in this relationship because whatever you do still affects me-or don’t you see that?” He raised a lot of valid points.
“Can I speak now?” I asked.
“Sure.” He nodded.
“I’m sorry I should have consulted you first. I guess I’m just so used to making my own decisions and I didn’t think about your feelings or getting your input. Can we agree to communicate our feelings from now on and no silent treatment allowed?” I narrowed my eyebrows.
“Sounds good babe. Now..can I kiss you please?” He didn’t wait for an answer he leaned forward and kissed me until I was dizzy.
“I didn’t say yes.” I smiled.
“I’m your husband and it’s my right.” He kissed me again until we heard the waiter clear his throat.
“Sorry man, but I can’t help myself-my wife is just too beautiful.” Kyle winked at the waiter.
“Indeed she is so I completely understand Sir.May I take your order?”
“Why don’t we let the lady have this one? You want to order for us babe?” Kyle put his arm round my chair.
“We will have the Chicken Nepiev with a Nicoise Salad. I don’t know what my husband is drinking but I’ll have a sparkling water. ” I shut the menu and turned to Kyle.
“Sparkling water sounds good.”
“Will that be all?” The waiter asked.
“Yeah we’re good man.” Kyle said.
“Sorry I know this is against work ethics but-can I just have one pic?” The waiter asked.
“Sure my man. Work your magic.” Kyle smiled into the camera as the waiter brought his head closer and snapped a selfie.
“Thank you so much! You have no idea what this means.” The waiter smiled so hard I could see his back teeth.
“Sure, no problem.” Kyle said.
“You had your selfie-with-a-fan-face,” I laughed.
“Well, get ready for the selfie-kissing my wife-face.” He raised his iPhone and took a pick of us kissing.
“I kind of like that face.” I smiled as I placed my hand on his cheek.
“I kind of like this shot. I’ve posted it on Instagram and Twitter, now everyone knows that you’re mine.”

“You’re so extra.” I shook my head.
“And you look so hot in that dress. I can’t wait until-”
“It’s not happening.” I cut in.
“We will see about that..”
“You’re sure about that?” I teased.
The waiter served our drinks and disappeared.
“You don’t know how overwhelmed with joy I am babe. I’m going to be a father. My mind can’t quite grasp it and yet it’s true. I can’t explain to you how that makes me feel babe. I did’t think I could be happier than I was and yet you managed to do it again. You’ve made me the happiest man alive. I feel like shouting it from the rooftops!”His face lit up and he placed his hands on my growing bump.
“So you’re happy about this?” I placed my hands over his.
“Yes! Double yes!” His eyes shone with joy.
“I thought maybe it was too soon for us to start a family.”
“Is that how you feel because I’m all in babe. I want it all.” He looked at me earnestly.
“I’m in. I’m happy. You make me happy.” I rested my forehead on his.
