The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 44 Dreams Can Come True
Kyle’s POV
Maya’s birthday was a week before thanksgiving and I wanted to give her another surprise wedding. A proper one. I felt like she was kind of short changed the first time we got married so this time I wanted to go all out. Go big or go home right? And BIG was my middle time.
I had pulled a few strings and managed to get one of the best wedding venues ever! Maya was going to be blown away. Tintagel Castle, had a stunning scenery, set high on Cornwall’s rugged north coast between Padstow and Bude. She wanted to go there for the longest time and I had made it my life’s mission to make all her dreams come true
I had spoken to Rita’s parents without Maya’s knowledge and they would be flying down for the wedding in my private jet of course. I swore everyone involved to secrecy and hopefully they wouldn’t cave in due to excitement. I roped in Andrew to help because honestly no man knew my wife better than he did.
Andrew, Rita, James and I had agreed to meet for lunch at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen Cornwall to go over the final details. It was three days before the big day and we had arrived in Cornwall last night. It wasn’t difficult to convince Maya to get away for a while, since she had already promised Madeline a vacation, this was the perfect opportunity.
“Hey Ky.. How did you dodge Maya?” Rita asked as I slid into the booth.
“Easy-she fell asleep. So here I am. Hey Jamie. Andrew.” I grinned as I fist-bumped them.
“Your baby is sucking the life out of my friend.” Rita opened the menu and browsed through.
“First things first-let’s order. I’m famished.” James groaned.
“Why don’t we order the Adam’s Lunch? It says here it’s a selection of four courses picked by the Head Chef Adam Banks.” Andrew suggested.
“And maybe a bottle of Veneto?” Rita added.
“I think we should make that two bottles because Rita will probably polish that bottle on her own.” I ducked as Rita threw a napkin at me.
“I think I’ll try the Sloe and Steady.” Andrew said.
“I want to try the Rum Buttered Beer-it sounds interesting.” I shut the menu.
“I just might try that as well.” James beckoned to the waiter.
“Right let’s get down to business.” Andrew went in to business mode and produced his iPad.
We all burst into fits of laughter.
“What?” Andrew’s eyes circled the table.
“Maya has really rubbed off on you man!” James ruffled Andrew’s hair.
“Guys-I don’t appreciate you making fun of my wife.” I tried to put on a straight face.
“As I was saying-from my side the venue is booked and paid for. Accommodation for all the guests is taken care of. Mr and Mrs Anderson will be arriving tomorrow. Your honeymoon is all set-I’ve even ordered a new wardrobe which you will find in your villa once you get there. Mrs K’s diary has been cleared for the next month and the MD is ready to step in.” Andrew placed his iPad on the table and took a sip of his drink.
“Nice going Drew. Now I know why my wife keeps you around. You’re worth your weight in gold.” I winked at Andrew and we clinked our drinks together.
“I think we owe you a vacation once the lovebirds come back from their honeymoon.” Rita smiled.
“Any where of your choice man. It’s on me-and like I promised before, any concert you want to go to-backstage passes, VIP section-I got you.”
“But you’ve never made such an offer to me before?” James grumbled.
“Drew is my guy. He more than earned it.” I slipped my phone into my pocket.
“Right-I managed to get the dress but Maya thinks she was trying it on for a Vogue photo shoot-which is partly true. She loved it.” Rita said with excitement.
“I’m going to start with the decor and stuff tomorrow so please keep your wife busy, in case she asks for any one of us. We’re going to be AWOL all day tomorrow so you can have her all to yourself. Do whatever it is you like to do with her because you won’t be able to do it much longer when the guests start trickling in.” James smirked.
“I’ll make sure to do all of that and more..” I said seductively.
“Kyle you just nasty.” Rita threw a cork at me.
“I just might start today-are we done here?” I made as if to stand and was pushed firmly down by three sets of hands.
“We said tomorrow Ky-can you manage that?” James shook his head.
“Food!” Andrew shouted as the waiter approached with mouthwatering, steaming hot dishes and laid them on the table.
“Ky-did you manage to get Mr Probz to come down?” Rita asked as she cut into her steak.
“Easy-he will be here. Although it’s only for one song but I have made it worth his while.” I put my for down and took a sip of my beer.
“Maya love’s that song. For some unknown reason.” Rita rolled her eyes.
“Let me educate you-when she was in hospital,I sang that song to her every night and I guess it became our thing.” I shrugged.
“You and Maya are the sweetest couple ever.” Andrew sighed dreamily.
“So which other artist is coming down?” Rita asked.
“Oh just Celine Dionne, Ed Sheeran and John Legend is coming again. I got DJ Khaled, Marshmello, Afrojack and Don Diablo to liven things up at the after party.”
“Wow! Maya is so lucky!!” Rita exclaimed.
“I love my wife -she’s the beat of my heart.” I put my hand on my heart.
“Awww..you are missing her aren’t you?” James observed.
“Yeah..I guess I am.” I smiled lightly.
“You will have her for a whole month and for the rest of your life after that.” Rita pointed out.
“I know but that doesn’t even seem like it’s enough. That’s why I’m taking a break from work for the next year. I need to be with her throughout this pregnancy and I want to be there when our child is born.” I announced.
“That’s great Mr K-only problem is getting your wife to do the same.” Andrew said.
“I’ll convince her..I have my ways..” I wiggled my eyebrows and felt my phone vibrate.
Rita rolled her eyes and James face-palmed.
“Hey babe-Aww you miss me? Say no more-I’m coming home my love. See you in a bit-Love you.” All eyes were on me as I ended the call.
“Guys-”
“Just go.” Everyone said at once.
