The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 54 I'sve Got You
Maya’s POV
Today was my due date but so far the twins made no sign that they were coming into the world. After we left Maldives we went back to New York for a month, and flew back to Capetown, where we had decided to have the babies.
I know it was crazy to want to go back there after everything that happened but, for some strange reason I wanted our children to be born here. Kyle went along with it because Capetown was where we first met. Officially of cos.
Rita and James decided that they would get married after the arrival of the twins but they joined us obviously, the more the merrier right?
Madeline was still with us and was excited about the twins. Her dad was still incarcerated and we heard that he would be deported back to France to serve his sentence there.
“Babe-where are you?” Kyle called out from upstairs. “You have to hear this song that I’ve been working on-I need your opinion. Please come up to the studio? Like now? Please?”
“We’re coming KYLE!” Madeline answered.
Madeline grabbed my hand as we wobbled up the stairs together.
“I’ve got you babe.” Kyle met us half-way and lifted me up in one swoop.
“I can still walk you know? I’m not completely incapacitated.” I objected.
“I know.” Kyle smiled and kissed me.
“When are the babies coming out?” Madeline asked for the hundredth time.
“Soon sweetheart. Soon.” Kyle responded as he laid me on the couch in his studio.
“So are you guys ready? Please be honest? I know you usually are but be as blunt as possible. Promise?” He sat on a stool and grabbed his acoustic guitar.
“We promise.” Madeline replied and focused on Kyle.
“Promise.” I echoed as I ruffled Madeline’s hair.
I felt a bit of discomfit and I kept shifting on the couch. The song was good so it proved to be a distraction.
“So what do you think?” Kyle placed the guitar on his lap.
“I think-my water just broke.” I stood and pointed at the damp patch on the white couch.
“Maddie tell Rita to get the bag and meet me at the car. We’re having the babies today!” Kyle sprung into action.
“I can walk you don’t have to carry me down the stairs.” I protested.
“Let’s not risk it okay?” He walked cautiously down the stairs with me in his arms.
“The babies are coming?” James asked, unable to mask his excitement.
“Looks like it. Where’s Rita and Maddie?” Kyle asked as he placed me in the back seat of the SUV.
“They will be down in a minute. I’ll drive so you can sit with Maya at the back.” James hopped in and put the key in the ignition.
“Kyle, Please call Dr Powell and ask her to meet us at the hospital.” I called out.
“Is she already in the country?” He jumped in the car, lifted my head and placed it on his lap.
“Is she in the country already?” He asked.
“Yes she landed last night. Can we go? I think I’m having contractions.” I winced.
“We’re here. I’ve got everything. Let’s go.” Rita and Madeline jumped into the car.
“Babies are coming! Babies are coming? Madeline bounced on her seat.
“Yes they are sweetie.” Kyle said.
“Kyle-please time my contractions? I just had another one.” I groaned.
“It seems like they are two minutes apart. We’re almost there babe. Hold on okay?” Kyle creased his brow.
The rest of the ride was a blur. I don’t even remember how we got to the hospital. All I could feel was pain. Excruciating. Unbearable. Unimaginable.
Only Kyle was allowed to come with me into the delivery room. I was in labor for more than ten hours, that when it was time to deliver I was totally spent and weak. Dr Powell and Kyle urged me to push but I had no more strength left.Dr Powell had suggested a C-Section but I wanted a natural birth but it was proving to be difficult.
“Babe please do this for me? For us? I know that this was a difficult pregnancy and you’re tired-way beyond tired-but please find whatever reserve of strength you might have left, I need you to draw from it and bring our babies into this world. You want that don’t you? I’m here okay? I’ve got you babe. I might not feel your physical pain but I do feel your pain babe-I do. When you hurt, I hurt. So please just do this one last thing? Please my love?” He pleaded, tears threatening to spill over.
“Okay baby. I got this. I can do this.” I panted heavily.
“That’s it Amaya. Deep breaths. Now push. Push. That’s it. You’re almost there. Push.” Dr Powell encouraged.
I squeezed the life out of Kyle’s hand as I grabbed it and continued to push until our son slid out of the birth canal and made his grand entrance into the world.
I repeated the process again until our daughter followed suit and came into the world howling until her face turned red.
I didn’t get a chance to hold my children because I passed out immediately after I delivered our daughter.

KYLE’S POV
Dr Powell sent me out of the room after Maya passed out. She had lost a lot of blood during the delivery and it poised a threat to her life yet again. It was a bitter sweet moment for me because I was happy to finally meet my children and at the same time my wife’s life was hanging in the balance.
“What’s happening?” Ritaasked as she and Jamesrushed towards me, looking anxious.
“Is everything okay?” James added.
“Maya-lost a lot of blood so she passed out after-” I sighed in defeat as I sunk into a chair in the waiting room.
“Where are the babies Ky?” Madeline asked as she sat next to me.
“The nurses have taken them to the nursery to check on them and to clean them up. You will see them in a bit okay?” I hugged her.
“Okay. have you decided on names yet?” She asked.
“I-we will ask Maya okay?” I rested my chin on her blonde curls. “Why don’t you all go home and swing by later? I’m sure Maddie is tired and hungry, we left home just after breakfast and it’s late now.”
“Rita, you go and I’ll stay with Ky. I don’t think we should leave him alone.” James said.
“Okay I’ll go and drop of Maddie, bring you a change of clothes and something to eat. By the way my parents will be here tomorrow morning so I’ll have to go and fetch them from the airport. See you in a bit. ” Rita kissed James and hugged me.
“Good night.” Maddie waved as she left with Rita.
I stood as Dr Powell walked towards us.
“Kyle, you can come through and see your wife now.” Dr Powell announced..
