The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 59 Jitters
MAYA’S POV
“Are you anxious?? You’re getting married tomorrow!” I squeezed Rita’s hands.
The big day was finally here. James was a nervous wreck and Rita kept stressing about everything that could go wrong. She had hired one of the best wedding planners but she was a bag of nerves.
“Yes I’m excited and I’m a bit nervous…what if something goes wrong??” She whined.
“It’s just pre-wedding jitters. You need to relax okay?” I laughed. Rita was such a drama queen.
“Thanks again for hosting us neighbor.I really appreciate you and Kyle opening your home to our guests.” She said.
“You should be thanking Kyle-it’s his house after all.” I laughed.
“From what I can remember, you didn’t sign a pre-nup, so what’s his is yours and vice-versa.” She linked our arms as we walked in the garden.
“We didn’t think it was necessary. Are you and Jamie going to sign one?”I asked, curious.
“He suggested it-but I don’t want to. I don’t want to jinx it-you know?” She frowned.
“I know what you mean. But there’s no pressure if you trust and love each other right?” I smiled.
“I love him so much. ” She sighed deeply.
They had decided to have a gardening wedding at Jamie’s Beverley Hills Estate. Coincidentally Kyle had a house just next door, because he and James decided to buy the properties at the same time, seeing as they were best friends and all.Rita and the bridal team would be staying at Kyle’s as well assome of the guests, while James would be crashing at his house with his bridal team and some other invited guests.
The wedding planner Eve, was going through a few final details with us as we walked through the venue. Everything seemed to be in order.
“Jamie’s parents arrive this evening and our parents have offered to meet them at the airport. They seemed to get along last Christmas, let’s hope they can keep each other entertained.” She smoothed her hands on her dress.
“You’re too tense, I think you need a drink. Let’s go to Villa Blanca’s for lunch and have cocktails after? Sounds good?” I dragged her arm before she could protest.
“You sound more and more like Kyle-you’re even beginning to look alike. Oh my gosh! Is that what marriage does to you??” She covered here face, feigning shock. We giggled as we jumped into my shiny black Discovery.
“If I look like my husband then I must be drop dead gorgeous..and sexy.” I winked at her as I put the key into the ignition and backed the the car out of the parking lot.
“You had to go there!” She rolled her eyes.
“There’s nothing wrong with appreciating how hot my husband is. I’m sure there’s thousands of women that would agree with me.” I grinned at her and fixed my attention back on the road.
“There’s a lot of women that would kill to be in your place-they would probably kill you if they had to.” She laughed as she strapped her seat belt.
“But unfortunately for them he only has eyes for me…seeing as I was the one that de-flowered him and all.” I batted my lashes.
“I don’t know how you’re not pregnant again. You and Kyle are just too much.” She laughed again.
“We agreed that we’re not going to have any more children so I’m safe.” I nodded.
“It’s been six years and you act like you just met..you can’t keep your hands off each other..you can’t even hide the lust in your eyes. There’s this tangible electric current that flows between the two of you-the love you have for each other is just so natural-like breathing… How is that even possible after so long??” She shakes her head in disbelief as she chuckles.
“I honestly don’t know-I cant explain it. We have this indescribable connection. I still get butterflies when I see him-every time we make love it always feels like the first time. I miss him so much when he’s away and I can’t function-now my heart is racing just because I’m thinking about him.” We burst out laughing.
“Oh my gosh! You’re even blushing-your face is beet red. You’re so whipped!” Rita gasped for breath as she laughed.
“You’re telling me.” I grinned as I gripped the steering wheel.
“I just hope Jamie and I can keep the fire burning as much as you have.” She leaned her head back on the seat.
“Every relationship is different. I’m sure you guys will grow old together. He’s crazy about you.” I maneuvered the car to the front entrance of the restaurant and brought it to a halt as I gave the valet the keys.
“Lunch is on you, drinks are on me.” We followed the maître d’ as he led us to our table and handed us menus.
I felt my phone vibrate in my bag and I fished it out.
“Hie husband, love of my life, father of my children and my everything.” I gushed.
“Hey babe. You should see the smile on my face right now!”
“Should I switch to a video call?” I drawled.
“Where are you babe? Thought we could do lunch? I’m with Jamie.”
“We’re at Villa Blanca and we just got here actually.”
“We’ll be there in 10. You can order starters so long.”
“See you in a bit. Love you”
“Love you the most babe.”
“You’re smiling so hard, I can see your back teeth.” Rita laughed loudly.
I playfully smacked her behind the head.
“Your dashing husband-to-be and my smoking hot husband will be joining us for lunch. I’m sure we can order drinks so long.” I placed my phone on the table andstarted going through the menu.
“Why don’t we get a bottle ofchampagne?Ruinart Blanc de Blancsmaybe? For now…” She smiled mischievously.
“You’re speaking my language.” I wiggled my eyebrows and we giggled like teenagers.
“How about Beef Carpaccio and Prosciutto Burrata for starters?” I mused.
“Sounds good Mrs Kinley.” Kyle came from behind and kissed my neck.
“Hey love.” James sat next to Rita and kissed her.
“Hey guys. Thanks for imposing yourselves on us.” I smirked. Kyle pulled a chair and sat closer to me.
“The pleasure was all ours.” James laughed.
The waiter came and took our order but did a double take when he recognized Kyle.
“Babe, you should know that I have a right to be with my wife-whether she likes it or not. Same goes for you Rita.” He pointed at her.
“Tell them Ky. They need to know.” James nodded in agreement.
“Pffft.” Rita rolled her eyes.
“It’s not to late to change you mind RiRi.” I teased.
“Fortunately she’s stuck with me cos I’m never letting her go.” James kissed her on the cheek.
The waiter came back with the champagne and filled our glasses.
“Let’s have a toast?” Kyle raised his glass and we followed suit.
“To Jamie and Rita.” We said as we clinked glasses.
