The Billionaire’s Song - Chapter 62 Might be..Could be..Possibly..
“Mummy can we watch Ballerina for our movie night?” Rachel barged into our bedroom and jumped onto the bed.
“Hmmm..”Maya grunted, not opening her eyes. I covered my head with a pillow and tried to fall back to sleep.
“Not again Princess.” I groaned, still half-asleep.
“Pleeeeasee! Please Dad.” She placed herself in between Maya and me.
“Daddy can we go fishing today? Pleeassse?” In walked Ethan and he bounced onto the bed.
“Listen guys..we can do whatever you want if you will allow your mother and I to sleep for a couple of hours. Sounds good?” I sat up and propped myself on the bed-frame.
“Sounds good.” They chorused.
“Good morning Mr K. May I come in?” Mary hovered at the open door.
“Mary, boy am I glad to see you.” I mumbled.
“I’m sorry they disturbed you, I know you had a late night. I’ll keep them busy for a while.” Mary said apologetically.
“Please get Richard and ask him to take you all Christmas Shopping. I’m sure by the time you get back we will be able to function like normal human beings.”
“We’re going shopping?? Can we get presents for Grandpa and Grandma and aunt Rita and-” Ethan started to say.
“You can get presents for everyone okay?” I pulled the covers over my chest.
“Can we go to Planet Hollywood after Daddy?” Rachel asked.
“Of cos princess. Now come and give daddy a hug before you go.” I gave them both a hug and a kiss.
“Bye Daddy. We will watch Ballerina when we get back won’t we?” She kept her arms around my neck.
“Sure sweetheart. I can’t wait.” I kissed her soft cheek.
“Thank you, thank you! I love you Daddy.”
“Love you too much princess.” I kissed her forehead.
“And we will go fishing tomorrow champ. Sounds good?”
“Thanks Dad! You’re the best.” Ethan threw himself into my arms and hugged me fiercely.
“Okay time to go.” I laughed. “Daddy loves you-too too much.”
“Love you the best Dad. See you later.”
They scampered out of the room.
“Should I send breakfast up?” Mary asked.
“Yeah… I think we should eat actually.” I nodded. “I just need to try and wake up my wife.”
“Sure Mr K. Good luck.” Mary laughed as she walked out.
I snuggled closer to my wife and put my arms around her.
“Babe, you feel like breakfast?”
“Hmmm..” She groaned into her pillow.
“You should eat something. It will help with the hangover.” I said.
Last night was epic. We attended the Billboard Music Awards and I won the Billboard Chart Achievement Award as well as the Top Selling Album.Afterwards we had to go to the Stevie Awards where my wife won Most Innovative Company of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year – Apparel, Beauty & Fashion. No one was more deserving than her.
It was a very proud moment for me. She had achieved so much and at such a young age. We were labeled as one of America’s hottest power couples and rightfully so. We worked hard and played hard.
Needles to say James and Rita insisted on throwing us a party, which leads us back to this mornings killer hangover.
The was a brisk knock on the door and I ushered in the chef.
“Breakfast is served.” He chirped happily.
“Thanks Dan. You can just lay it on the table out the balcony.”
“Just shout if you need anything else.” He shut the door behind him.
“Babe.” I tickled her feet. Her ultimate week spot.
“Kyle!” She screamed and shot upright.
“Do I have your attention now??” I laughed until I was breathless.
“You’re going to pay for this.” She pointed at me and stormed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her.
“Babe.” I knocked on the door softly. “You’re not angry are you?”
No response. Only the sound of flushing water.
I turned the door handle and fortunately it wasn’t locked. I entered with caution and peered into the room. Maya was kneeling by the toilet spewing her guts out. I rushed in and knelt beside her, holding her hair up. I rubbed her back as she let it all out.
“Sorry that you had to see that.” She wiped her mouth and collapsed against the wall.
“Babe, I’ve seen it all before.” I patted her face with a wet towel. “Should I run us a bath?”
“Please. But help me up first, I need to brush my teeth.” I hoisted her off the floor gently and she walked over to the basin. As soon as she put the toothbrush in her mouth she rushed back and spilled her guts out once again.
“You’re okay babe? Do we need to go see a doctor?” I lifted her hair of her face and looked at her with concern.
“Maybe it’s just a hangover.” She said weakly.
“I don’t think so babe..this has never happened before. The only time it happened was when we found out you were pregnant-”
“No way..” She stopped and her face slowly registered shock.
“Babe?” I looked at her intently.
“Gosh! I’m not sure..I might be..could be..possibly..” She frowned.
“That’s it. We’re taking a bath and we’re going to see the doctor.” I said with finality.
“Oh no.” She groaned.
“Would it be such a bad thing?” I asked as we sank into the bubble bath.
“N-noo..” She said hesitantly.
“Whatever happens you know that we can handle it right?” I cupped her face in my hands.
“I know.” She nodded but I could see fear in her eyes.
“You’re scared?”
“Sort of.” She gulped.
Her last pregnancy wasn’t the easiest. I didn’t want to re-live that nightmare and I’m sure she felt the same, probably worse. We made sure she was on contraception but somewhere down the line something went wrong.
“Let’s not get ahead of ourselves okay? We don’t really know right? So let’s shelve the panic for now.” I stood up and grabbed our towels.
“Maybe you’re right.” She said as I wrapped the towel around her.
“You know it.”
