The Binary World - 88 The Sacred Lake Part-1
Zeus trudged after Vessha silently as he moved he noted how every creature had kept them at an arm’s length even if they were still sneaking their way towards their destination as such the creature might not even notice them but the revolting smell did its work as it managed to drive them away.
Soon they found themselves standing in front of a large ruin, Vessha looked towards it as Zeus could feel the emotion in her eyes if only he could not be color blind because of her excellent gourmet cuisine, the thought of it made him want to puke.
Vessha motioned him to follow as she moved with incredible agility with Zeus trying hard to keep up with her, ‘What is wrong with that woman she suddenly upped her speed to an incredible level, if it wer not for the rope tying myself to her I would have left behind the dust.’, as he mused he almost tumbled from being pulled hard by the rope as he sighed while cursing inwardly.
A few minutes later Vessha stopped in front of what seemed to be a beautifully build garden with a tomb at the center built, Vessha looked at Zeus and snorted as corner of her lips went up as she tried to stifle her laugh.
Zeus looked at her as he spoke with a growl, “Yes yes laugh all you want.”
Vessha smiled back at him as she spoke, “Since when did you take up the job of a jester.”
Zeus growled became louder as he spoke with a snarl, “You literally dragged me here through the foliage the mud and many things how could I not look like one after that.”
Vessha tilted her head as she spoke, “Really it seems you are so light that I did not notice at all.”
Zeus could only grumble and stew in his anger before Vessha moved towards him as she removed the twigs and dust from above his head as well cleaned the mud from his face as she spoke, “Well now you look presentable come I have someone I want you to meet.”
She took him towards the tomb where a large sarcophagus on whose top was a figure of regal looking person was build it looked as if the person was sleeping just waiting to awake up.
Vessha took held his hand as she moved by the sarcophagus side as they approached it Zeus suddenly felt as if the temperature of the room plummet as a crunching sound came under from his feet as he looked down he was greeted by the sight of frozen ground even the blades of the grass was frozen and looked like as if it was made out of crystal, then he was felt the cold as to him if felt as if he was standing on ice barefoot.
“Look at the other side.”, came a voice to his ears and he was glad to move to the other side away from the cold.
Only to be greeted by scorched earth with the land hot enough that he felt that his boots would melt from the heat as such he moved away from the sarcophagus he was stunned to see that outside a certain zone of influence it looked as if it was untouched by the cold and the heat.
His attention was drawn towards Vessha who was laughing loudly at his reaction before she controlled herself well enough to speak, “This please is a is a bit unique for it is the final resting place of your predecessor, I hope that you have already observed that a hot and cold zone exists around the sarcophagus up to a certain distance.”
Zeus looked around as he watched his eyes widen with shock as the zones seemed to be surrounding the sarcophagus in a perfect circle with each zone occupying half of the circle.
Zeus could not help but ask her with wide eyes, “Why?”
Vessha stood by his side as she spoke, “That is because of the weapon used by him, he used to wield dual hatchet even after so many years the weapon is still as ferocious as ever.”
Zeus eyes widen at that as he spoke in disbelief at that, “He dead almost a thousand years ago and you are saying that his weapons are the cause of this, moreover the grass over there is still burning if it were over a thousand years old then it would be ash by now, that was good attempt ”
Vessha snorted at that as she spoke, “Of course they are, what would you expect from someone who changed the entire forest land into this unforgiving desert, he was powerful, very powerful and probably the most powerful being I have seen.”, Vessha looked forward her eyes swirling with emotions as she spoke with a smile, “As for the grass they are special the one on the colder side is called ‘Crystal grass’, and the other one is called the ‘Scorching grass’, they are used in exotic potions and Zeus normally I would have said to use observe on them but you are too low leveled to even see their names.”
Zeus was about to retort only to be silenced by Vessha as she spoke, “I know you are having difficulty in believing me but even at my level I might only see the name as for harvesting it, the harvester should at the very least twice your strength before they can even think of trying to harvest them or they might die, I know you are skeptical about everything I told you about and I know even if I told you would use ‘observe’ there is no need for you to be discreet just do it and you will be surprised.”
Zeus raised one of his eyebrow towards her before he looked towards the tomb as he used ‘observe’ on it , his vision was filled with such intense light that for a moment the thought he would have gone blind as he let out startled cry he felt someone grabbing his shoulder as she felt Vessha’s voice in his ears, “I know you are hearting open your eyes I am going to give you something that will soothe your eyesight.”
Zeus gritted his teeth as he spoke, “What was that?”
Vessha spoke in a rather serious manner, “You use observe on everything and anything, it is good thing to use it on enemies but it is a bad habit to use it on neutrals or your potential allies some of them might have some form of protection like that was on the sarcophagus.”
Zeus winced as after a few minutes not only did his vision returned normal but also he was cured of his temporary color blindness.
Zeus blinked before he spoke with his eyes narrowed, “You had a cure for the colorblindness that I was suffering?”
Vessha tilted her head as she spoke, “Of course I had.”
Zeus was about to speak angrily to her but held his tongue after all it would achieve nothing as such he chose to let out a huff of anger, causing Vessha to roll her eyes as she spoke, “Listen hatchling I will tell you only once, my teaching methods is different than others I will not hold your hands neither will I coddle you and instead of wasting time whining try to find the lesson behind my actions, it will be enlightening.”
Zeus glared at her as he spoke, “If you had the antidote then, why did you not gave me prior to coming here, like you gave the one that fixed my voice.”
Vessha did not look at him as she closed her eyes while clasping her hand looking as if she was praying as she spoke, “If you were not colorblind the little stunt would have blinded you, but more importantly making the antidote is not only costly but time consuming.”
