The Birth of a Villainess - Chapter 279
“Ngh…aaAA!!!”
Yu Fangzhu twisted from the wooden cross he was mounted and beat the back of his head against it.
He tried closing his mind, but as if his brain was on fire, his eyelids flew open and tears dripped down on his cheeks.
Lin Xiaofei stared at him with interest. The wonders of her work seemingly enchanting to her. She now understood thst marvelous feeling that Yu Fangzhu and the people who came to mock her and torture her with him felt when she was in Yu Fangzhu’s position.
Did they watch her like this? Did they assume her as nothing but an animal they captured and tortured at their will?
She wanted to ask him, but she chose to shut her mouth and not say a word. It was useless asking about what others feel about what they did to her in the past anyway.
And even if she did, can Yu Fangzhu really reply to her?
From how he was biting his already bleeding lips, she reckoned not.
His ability to speak was overwhelmed by the great pain he was feeling at the moment and rendering him to m.o.a.n in pain.
Turning her head away, she looked at the barrel of water near the cage. She went close to it. The water glistened as the light from the candles hit it and her face was reflected in the water. She saw a wooden cup that was larger and wider than ordinary cup for drinking. And then, she scooped water from it.
She took the cup back to Yu Fangzhu, and started to pour the cold water to his burning hands. As she was doing this, the smell of burnt flesh and hair permitted in the air and entered her nose.
“Arghhh…” Yu Fangzhu’s forehead creased as he felt relief from the burning pain.
When Lin Xiaofei saw that, she stopped pouring the water on his hands.
“How does it feel?” She suddenly asked in the curtain of silenced pain.
Yu Fangzhu still couldn’t bring himself to speak and only glared at her.
“So stubborn.” She clicked her tongue. “If only you would beg for mercy, maybe I could take your life quicker. But staying silent will only make me want to do it slowly.”
“Wha… What do you… ha… want me to say?” Yu Fangzhu’s voice cracked as he forced the words out of his lips.
She lifted one corner of her lips and said, “Surely, you didn’t think I’m torturing you only because of what you did to me in the past?”
She wanted to laugh at that idea. True, she indeed had the d.e.s.i.r.e to do what he did to her in her first life, but by doing so, it would take her a year before she could be completely satisfied. The methods he used to torture her varied as well as Yu Fangzhu based it on his mood. Meanwhile, she only has a tray of toys to use to break him.
Putting the cup with the remaining water on the tray of torture items and raised her head to stare at Yu Fangzhu.
“I want you to tell me where do you hide the book that you and your mother hid from me. I also want to see the names of nobles that has banded with you and the names of those who came to the dungeons and join you to torture me.”
Yu Fangzhu’s eyes grew bigger and bigger as soon as she said what she wanted.
His body shook as he laughed maniacally.
“Xiaofei… Do you think I’d give it to you so easily? Even if you break my bones and skin my alive, I won’t give you what you want from me!”
‘Slap!’
Yu Fangzhu was still laughing when a line of shadow suddenly flew towards his face. He was so stunned that he didn’t even realize that Lin Xiaofei had slapped him.
Grabbing his chin with one hand, Lin Xiaofei looked straight into his eyes as she smilingly and chillingly said, “Then, don’t mind me if I do.”
Lin Xiaofei didn’t believe that Yu Fangzhu wouldn’t tell her. She knew him too much that she knew what he was actually thinking and knew his limits.
Yu Fangzhu was trying to avoid answering her first question. That account book they stole from her was important. She didn’t know what was inside it, but she was sure that it held great weight to them, seeing how they took it from her father without her knowledge and even used that to threaten her family.
As for the other two demands she told him, they weren’t important, but they were also something she cannot throw away. The names of the nobles who joined Yu Fangzhu’s faction might have changed already. There might have been some addition of several other old and new officials and noblemen. If she had her hands on that book that has their list of names, she might be able to use it against them.
Meanwhile, the latter was something she could save for the last. Those people who came to watch on and join in the fun of torturing her, she could slowly get to them. She knew some faces and names, but most of them were unfamiliar to her as well.
And thus, these account books and lists were indispensable to her.
Getting them from Yu Fangzhu would shorten her search and quicken her pace.
“You will regret saying that, Yu Fangzhu.” Lin Xiaofei said.
“I have all the time in the world to use every means for you to sing like a bird all day. You, on the other hand, cannot escape and could only receive what I give you. However ironic that is.”
Yu Fangzhu swallowed hard. He could now feel the fear he tried so hard to hide inside his heart starting to crawl up to his throat.
The woman before him was not the same woman he had met years ago. Xiaofei liked to scheme and turn others against each other. But the same Xiaofei, he knew and threw away after using her, was now standing there before him with that an extremely beautiful but unfamiliar face.
And those eyes that were looking at him were filled with evil and madness.

Author has something to say: I didn’t get to edit this in time. I’ll edit this later. I love seeing Lin Xiaofei’s mad.
