The Black Tiger - Chapter 15 Senses
[Alarm]
The ‘player’ has absorbed small amounts of blood from the ‘Eclectus Parrot cattus’. Does the ‘player’ want to absorb the life energy residing in the blood?
Gabriel’s eyes widened in disbelief; he hadn’t known he could gain energy by absorbing blood. Anger resided in his mind as he lifted his acing body up from the ground.
“Tigris? Do you have any knowledge of this?” No response, but he didn’t expect anything else from the ill-mannered voice who loved to taunt others.
The decision had been made the moment he read the alarm, so with no further ado he accepted the transfusion.
[Alarm]
The life energy transfusion will be completed in 3 2 1 Ding
The life energy has been successfully absorbed.

Gabriel was a little stunned by the life energy absorption, he knew the concept behind life energy thought. However, he hadn’t paid any attention to it because none of his abilities require energy to be utilized yet.
“Well, I love it when you’re as emotional as you are at this stage. It indicates my feeding on your humanity is far from over.” Gabriel could feel his amazement be replaced by disgust as Tigris came without answering his question, as usual. “And I hate when you don’t listen to my questions” Gabriel hissed. The laughter rang in Gabriel’s head.
Ignoring the laughter Gabriel stood up from the blood-soaked ground and started skinning the green furred panther. He could sell the skin for a nice price or just keep it himself. The portal was still open, despite the fact Gabriel knew he needed to return. The ‘Crownlizard’ was most likely the dungeon boss, and at Gabriel’s current level and state he wasn’t even near being able to defeat it. Cleaning his wound and drinking a lot of water, Gabriel took with him everything he had gathered within the portal.
Gabriel had managed to return home from the tropical dungeon without recounting any dangerous animals. He had been gone for both Saturday and Sunday which meant that he had little time to gather energy for school the next day. The large wound he had gotten wasn’t that much of a problem, despite the pain. He could use some oversized sweaters to cover it up until it had healed completely.
Gabriel leaned against the big stone wall in the abandoned building. It had become quite cold these days, which made him glad he bought some warm clothes for the little money he had. The green skin he had brought home was used as a blanket, but he intended to sell it as soon as he could. Gabriel closed his eyes and sharpened his senses, trying to follow the flow of his surroundings. He felt calm, even thought the noise and smell was disturbing at times. The temperature shifted with the winds ravaging of its surroundings.
His senses were quite weak. Not able sense his surroundings in battle could be fatal, therefore Gabriel distributed two of his stat-points at sense, one at strength and one at agility.
Sense: 2 -> 4
Strength: 4 ->5
Agility: 6 ->7
He sat back and focused on all his senses except sight. He could hear more than the wind and passing by traffic now. Down the street there was a kid which cried while the mother scolded her, the leaves and grass ruffled fast as the wind got stronger. The smell was filled by vegetation planted near the passing traffic while large amounts of co2 felt unpleasant to his nose. The Burger Bank smelled like a grand palette of sugar and fattening smells, while the perfume shop emitted a lot of strong substances which mixed and made an odor which gave Gabriel a headache.
for visiting.
Time flew by fast and with each time he used his new passive skill, he felt more relived because of the small amount of control he gained.
[Alarm]
The passive skill ‘heightened senses’ has leveled up from lever 1 to level 2.
Again, his senses got sharpened
Back at the Academy the biology course went a bit different than usual.
Mr. Crow came into the biology room and presented their first dissection of animals. He had with him a large box which the he had placed on a small cart. The scribbles on the blackboard behind the professor presented which tools the students were going to utilize. The professor cleared his throat to gain the constantly rambling students in the backs’ attention.
“Students, today we are going to complete an autopsy on some Lesser Siren
(Siren intermedia), which is a species of water salamander. We are also going do autopsies on swans (Cygnus Cygnus) and cats (Felis catus). We are going to observe their respiration- and circulation system. The purpose of this autopsy is to observe different adaptations and then compare it to the systems inside a Camird from one of the dungeons which got closed a week ago. The Camirds are still alive. However, one newly passed away due to stress and we are going to observe the dead specimen.”
All the students except those who sat in the back were trilled by the news. Gabriel sat near the windows which displayed the beautiful backyard and impressive fountain with multiple colorful carps. The biology room was entirely white and marbled, since the school had a large fond it had given the course almost the best resources available. Gabriel kept listening to Mr. Crow.
“I have assigned each students their station and partner for this experiment. Despite being in pairs, your reports will be assigned and graded individually. The autopsy requires you to use your notes from my lessons.”
A sigh could be heard,
“Yes, Miss Warren?”
In the back with some of her friends sat Celeste
