The Boy Who Swore Revenge On The World - Chapter 71
IMPORTANT: Empire (noun) will be changed to Imperial (noun).
VS Suzaku
A bright-red-haired man who carries numerous swords on his back, Suzaku or something, descended from the sky. Although the soldiers around were initially surprised, they cheer when that fellow reveals his appearance. It’s somebody who’s that famous huh. Well, he’s saying ‘Sword Saint’ or something like that after all.
“Not only did you kill my country’s precious Imperial citizens, that act of desecration on the corpses; I will absolutely not forgive you! Prepare yourself!”
Suzaku who rouses and approaches as he pleases. This fellow, he’s the type that I hate; a fellow who doesn’t listen. Well, what this fellow is saying isn’t necessarily incorrect though. But still, his one-sided remark p.i.s.ses me off. If you’re going to attack me
“You better be prepared to be killed!”
I release shortswords at Suzuka who approaches. All 10 shortswords head towards Suzaku, but Suzaku repels all of them with the sword he holds in his hand. And then, I don’t know what he’s thinking, but he threw the sword he holds in his hand at me.
I immediately intersected 2 shortswords and blocked, but the moment the sword’s tip made contact, the shortswords broke and vanished. I didn’t expect it since it didn’t break when they were repelled just now so I forcibly twisted my body to dodge, but my shoulder was slightly grazed.
Just as I slightly lose my balance, the figure of Suzuka who draws the 2 swords on his back approaches. I immediately return 2 shortswords to my hands, hold them in a backhand grip, and catch the swords that were swung down.
And the moment I put my strength in, in an attempt to push back through the difference in strength, Suzaku lets go of his swords once again. Naturally, I, who stepped forward in an attempt to put in more strength, lost my balance because the strength had nowhere to go. Suzaku, who aims at that, swung a sword, that he newly drew, horizontally at me again.
I roll forward so as to dodge it and keep my distance. It’s my first time going up against somebody who fights like this and it messes with my rhythm. It’s because until now, there hasn’t been anybody who releases their weapons.
As I’m watching Suzaku, who lets go of his weapons in that manner, I understood why he lets go of it. It’s because the swords return to Suzaku’s side on their own.
I don’t know whether the swords themselves are being imbued with magic or whether it’s Suzaku who’s using magic, but I understood the reason he lets go of his swords.
I’m left with the fact that my shortswords that were created with sorcery were broken through that bothers me, but since I understood Suzaku’s fighting style, I have a way to deal with it.
I once again release my shortswords. Firstly, 10 shortswords. Suzaku repels it as he did previously, but I add on another 10 shortswords over there. A total of 20 shortswords a.s.sail Suzaku.
I guess Suzaku still has some leeway since he repels those too and tries to head over here. If that’s the case, I can still increase it further huh.
Aside from the shortswords, I create spears, axes, swords, and launch all of them at Suzaku. I guess there are probably about 100 in total. As expected, it’s tough for me to go more than this. However, Suzaku is also frantically blocking the weapons that approach from all directions.
“Kuu!”
And then a sword he hurls over here in desperation. However, this time, I avoid it without blocking with my shortswords and grab the handle the moment it pa.s.ses by me. I’d been watching since just now; this sword has been endowed with magic that has a destruction effect.
It seems when it makes contact with something at where the magic power is poured into, it’s able to slice and penetrate it without fail. It’s why when I blocked it with the shortswords just now, the shortswords were penetrated effortlessly.
In exchange for this effect being considerably strong, it should consume a fair bit of magic power. I guess that’s why Suzaku only poured magic power into the tip of the sword. It’s a Magic Sword that an ordinary Swordsman can’t use.
……Un, I’ve decided. I’ll have this sword. I’m going to kill him and it’ll end up with n.o.body using it anyway. It’s fine, isn’t it. I guess I’ll use it right away.
I pour my magic power in, in a way that it envelops the sword. Ooh!? It consumed a fair bit of magic power. Indeed, if it requires this amount of magic power then an ordinary person would give up from just a portion of it.
It’s to the extent that even I, who’s gathering and increasing my magic power in the necklace, was shocked. It’s so much so that it’ll require several hundred people if it’s an ordinary human.
However, to that extent, the ability is quite something. I slashed at a nearby Imperial soldier to test it out, and I sliced him apart without feeling any resistance. It matters not whether there’s a sword or armour. It’s great.
In the meantime, Suzuka was being occupied by the weapons that I released. It’s because no matter how many times he repels them, they come right back. It’s becoming to the extent that Suzaku’s figure is pretty much not visible because of the weapons that I released. But, I guess it being as it is means he still hasn’t died yet.
Uoo? I feel a pulling sensation in my hand from the sword as I’m watching such a spectacle. The Suzaku fellow is calling it huh. Well, I’m not going to hand it over though.
I start running at the same time as the pulling sensation. Suzaku’s figure was before my eyes when I got rid of the weapons. Although he’s covered in wounds, he didn’t suffer any fatal wound, so I guess he avoided them skillfully. Moreover, perhaps he’d also predicted that I’d come, he’d readied his weapon.
Over there, I put in my strength so as to oppose the pulling sensation, and forcibly swing the sword down. It’s while it’s resisting so there’s no speed, but because Suzaku is unable to receive it, he dodges.
However, he’s unfortunately unable to avoid it. The sword I hold warps, ‘Kakun’, unnaturally. Aiming at Suzaku’s face.
He tries to block the unexpected movement with his sword at once, but maybe it’s because he himself knows about this sword’s power better than anybody else, his expression turns bitter.
It’s just that, perhaps blocking with his sword bore fruit, he had the time to avoid the approaching sword. Although I say that it can slice anything, it’s not as though there’s no friction or whatnot.
I give a roundhouse kick with my left leg as it is. Although Suzaku uses his sliced sword as a shield and receives it, he tumbles onto the ground. Suzaku who then keeps a distance from me.
“You b.a.s.t.a.r.d, you made use of my Magic Thread huh”
He actually talks about his own hidden technique, what an idiot. Well, it’s true that I made use of it. Magic Thread, exactly as the name suggests, it’s a thread that’s made of magic.
It’s easy to make, but it’s difficult to make it so that it doesn’t snap; there aren’t many who use it. Suzaku was making use of that and returning the swords, that he hurled, back into his hands.
I have him let me make use of that. I pull the thread that extends from him, reel him in, and point my sword at him.
“……It can’t be helped. I shall judge that you’re a worthy opponent and get serious. An Imperial Tool that only I can wield! Soar, Vermillion Bird!!”
Flame gushed out throughout Suzaku’s body the moment Suzaku said that. Don’t tell me, is he killing himself?, was what I thought, but he was saying that he’ll get serious. There’s no way he’ll do that. A flame that ascends high up in the sky. A pair of flame wings that spread widely from within. What appeared from within the flame was Suzaku who clad his body in crimson flame.
