The Bride of The Hexodar Kingdom - Chapter 49:The Condition After Critical
The progress of Prince Aerus’ condition was getting better. His hands were getting warm, although some parts of his body were still cold.
Heat and freeze remain very fleeting transitions like colorful lights switched on by a system. From red to blue, then to purple, and then to green. It was just that within Prince Aerus’s body only two transitions flowed, which were extremely brief and deadly.
“You’re getting warm, your body temperature is starting to stabilize. But why are you still not awake?” Lia became very worried. Her hand was still caressing Prince Aerus’ face, ensuring that his body temperature returned to its normal, comfortable warmth, and also felt familiar.
Their clinging bodies, clinging like two weeds wrapped around each other, or perhaps like rocks buried under clay, were hard to get out. As simple as Lia’s wish for happiness, the hope of a conscious Prince Aerus began to fill her heart.
But it was not easy to get that hope, to make it come true, as real as her wish. Their bodies were covered with blankets (Lia the one who asked Hamdi, telling him to give it to her without looking back) wrestled beneath it with soft and barely perceptible movements.
Lia barely dared to move, afraid that if their skin contact didn’t last a bit, Prince Aerus would die again and fall in the throes of death. Various paranoia had gripped Lia and made her shrink in fear even more.
Her brain was moving uncontrollably. All the images and illusions regarding the death of Prince Aerus became clearer if only his breathing began to move weakly, convulsions occurred, and the bruising became more and more.
But all that was now gone. No convulsions, no new bruising, no bleeding. Lia’s anxiety should have lessened, but it didn’t. The feeling of comfort and warmth throughout her chest still hadn’t managed to get completely.
“Hamdi, are you sure there is no need to give Prince Aerus additional medicine? He’s still unconscious either.” Lia shouted, her head tilted up to pass the highest end of the chair she was sitting on. Her hair still looked messy, hair in the form of a black wig.
From the front, in the driver’s seat of the plane, Hamdi replied, “This medicine may only be given once a week. The dosage is very high.”
“Then what should we do to make him come to his senses? He still hasn’t woken up yet.” Prince Aerus’ body squirmed slowly, slightly quivering with a cracked voice. Lia’s arms wrapped around him even tighter, pulling her body even closer.
“Lia… Lia.” Like the shards of waves hitting the soft sand, which laid several hundred million lights. Prince Aerus’ voice was like being in another world, never recognized, as if it came from a part of his body that didn’t have a mouth but could make sounds. Muffled and surprising.
“I am here. I’m here, Prince. Wake up, open your eyes! You’re awake, right? Prince?” Emptiness. Prince Aerus’ movements stopped again, and no hoarse and buzzing sound came out.
Frozen and scared. Lia shouted again at Hamdi to do something. And all Lia got from Hamdi was, “Keep hugging him! If the bruises on his body didn’t increase then that would have been very good. Just keep hugging!”
There was no other choice. Lia continued the therapy session she gave Prince Aerus, sticking their skin and body together without leaving room for interruption. At such times Lia gradually remembered about the bed activities she had done with Prince Aerus. Their closeness was even more intense than the hug he gave her because Prince Aerus would suffocate her from all sides.
“Why?” Voices were heard. Lia, who had closed her eyes because she was asleep, now worked weakly, almost gave up, and fell back into the wave of dreams. But a few seconds later, something caressed her cheek, caressed it gently, and slightly stung her skin.
Lia gasped and woke up completely. In her puffy eyes, she saw that Prince Aerus had woken up. A face that started to look firm even though it still looked weak. Pale golden irises.
“Why are you covering your hair?” asked Prince Aerus, not blinking at all. His eyes only opened a quarter of the way, with a very languid voice. His movements were minimal as if he was being bound by something.
“Hamdi! He’s been waking up! Hamdi!” shouted Lia, not answering Prince Aerus’ question but instead calling for Hamdi. “Do something! He’s starting to wake up!”
“What kind of response should I give? Tell me in detail!”
“The point is not to make him angry or surprised. Just tell him what he wants to hear. If he wakes up suddenly then it could give him a heart attack.”
“It’s better if I don’t respond, right?” Lia grumbled, but she didn’t say it directly to Hamdi. Her hand moved, along the soft, fluffy blanket, and then he pulled it aside. Lia’s eyes were now wandering, exploring several inches of Prince Aerus’ body.
“The bruises on your body are almost gone. Good, you will surely wake up in a moment.” Wrapping her arms around Prince Aerus’ body, Lia caressed his face again, giving him invisible strength.
“Don’t you want to be my mate?” The sound was muffled, it was almost impossible to confirm that it was coming from Prince Aerus’ vocal cords. It seemed that the voice came from another world, which pierced Prince Aerus’ body and made him an intermediary.
Lia bit her lip, refusing to answer. However, when her gaze fell on Prince Aerus’ pale eyes, which seemed to be filled with a very thick white membrane, Lia’s heart began to waver. Especially when Prince Aerus’ consciousness began to fall.
Having no other way, Lia replied, “I don’t know. What do you think? Should I want or not want to be your mate?” Lia must answer intelligently, what words must not trap their condition to get even worse.
Indirectly Lia was teasing Prince Aerus so that he was no longer sulking, or maybe dying.
A thin smile spread across Prince Aerus’ lips, looking innocent and natural. There was no stiff expression at the corners of his mouth, or perhaps hatred and anger. He seemed like a prince who had the most dramatic plagiarism.
“You know my answer, so you don’t have to ask.” Prince Aerus’ fingers traced the empty air, parted it in a gentle motion, and landed it on Lia’s cheek. With weak movements he continued to move, wandering along Lia’s jawline as well as her cheeks, landing on her lips.
“You always know the answer, Lia. So say no more,” said Prince Aerus, returning in his very deep voice.
