The Bullied Husband’s Club - Chapter 248
It was hard for both of them to be away. Stacey already said goodbye to Victoria. Now, she’s holding her husband’s hand tight and she had her hood on. They reached the chopper’s landing and the man in a black suit was waiting. Maverick takes her there and lets her set up. She started crying again. He kissed her hands, her lips, and her tummy.
“I will call you soon. Okay?” Maverick said softly, trying to coax her.
“Okay. I love you.” She said aloud so he would hear it despite the chopper’s noise. He kissed her lips hard. Then he stepped away as he nodded to Butler Reinheart in the pilot seat. He gave her a purse and closed the door. He took a few steps backward and watched as slowly the chopper fly up. It was away now. He suddenly felt empty.
“Your grace, we need to go back.” Butler Paul said.
Maverick nodded as he hopped in the golf cart. The Butler drove it back to the castle. He went directly to the control room and the guards seemed to be rushing here and there.
“Find them!” He stopped when he heard his grandfather scream. He entered the control room and he saw the King in rage. “What’s going on?” He asked.
“We can’t locate them,” Kenzo grumbled. “We can’t locate Kaisley.”
Maverick frowned and exhaled slowly.
“I have to go there.”
“No!” Maverick shouted at him. “I will find them.”
He sat down and located their phones. Unfortunately, their phones have been located and none of them can find the two. He used other measures to locate Prince Caleb and Princess Kaisley. Kenzo looked at his wife in the corner who was trying to help the King.
“I’m going there.” Kenzo decided. Victoria was surprised but then the King nearly hit him with his cane.
“You are not leaving Kenzo when everything is like this.” The King exclaimed at him. “We can’t lose you again!”
“I will be the Sparrow.” Maverick decided and already dispatched the message. He then called Kane and Hardin who volunteered to search for Caleb and Kaisley. “Kenzo, you don’t have to go there,” Maverick told him.
The King slouched on the seat as he started heaving.
“Grandpa,” Kenzo rushed to him and held him. “I won’t go. Just calm down, okay.”
“We can’t lose Kaisley again, Kenzo.”
“I know.” Kenzo sighed and looked at Prince Philip who was only standing. He was also worried.
Maverick didn’t take his eyes off the monitor for an hour and he had his headset on to make sure that he could communicate with Kane and Hardin.
“Sparrow,” Maverick called. “Where are they now?”
“They are in an alley near the 4A avenue. The Prince is injured.”
“I already sent troops in your way. How’s the Princess?”
“She’s fine and has a minor injury.”
“How about their guards?” Maverick asked.
“Five were down. No pulse and one was in critical condition, protecting the Princess.”
Maverick felt that sudden rage in his heart. He exhaled slowly and nodded.
“Take them away.”
He could hear Kaisley crying and when he checked the body camera, Caleb looked like he was dying while Kaisley had blood on her clothes holding her husband. His heart shattered and the King who was so stubborn approached him to check it. He collapsed as Kenzo shouted and caught him. Victoria quickly rushed to tell someone to call a doctor.
Maverick just watched as his grandfather collapsed. He needs to calm himself to operate this mission. Philip approached him and held his shoulder.
“Focused on protecting the Princess and Prince. We will take care of the King.”
“Yes, sir.” He said. Lots of files were sent to him by the Empress and showed the photos of the people that they captured when Caleb was shot. His heart sank when Caleb made himself a shield to protect the Princess and the last guard protected them with his body. Although the guard was wearing a bulletproof inside vest, there were still fatal shots on his arms, on his shoulder, and leg.
He then controlled the hospital and sent them a message about Prince Caleb and the Royal guards. He had access to the Royal Empire’s hospital and they rushed and waited for them to come. The chief doctor even rushed and commanded the doctors and nurses to prepare for the operation. He sent them the data of the gunshots from the guards and from Prince Caleb who had it on his lower abdominal. There might be a chance of kidney failure.
Kane and Hardin were already giving him first aid while Caleb was murmuring a few things.
“Hold on. We are near the hospital.” Kaisley said.
“I love you.” He whispered.
“I know, so hold on.” Kaisley sobbed.
“Babe, stop crying. You are getting ugly.”
She cried even more.
It was an instant heartbreak for Maverick and Prince Philip who saw it.
“I will be there.” He said as he left quietly.
Maverick sighed, he felt his stomach twist. Although he heard so much about the curse in the castle after the sudden deaths of the family members, he now understands how hard it was.

Kaisley waited outside while her husband was in the operation room and the other guard was in another operating room. Hardin and Kane stayed with her. She’s currently holding a warm paper cup of water but she didn’t drink it. She just cried silently while waiting for them to finish it. It’s been an hour now and she doesn’t know what to do.
“Kaisley,” Prince Philip called and she looked up and put away the cup. She stood and hugged him tightly. “Hey, it will be alright.” Prince Philip caressed her hair. Shortly, the door opened and they turned to it. The doctor came out and he bowed. And so was the other doctor who operated the Prince.
“How’s my nephew?” He asked them while he’s holding Kaisley.
“The operation was successful, but the Prince needs strict monitoring. We will transfer him shortly to his room.” The Doctor said as he approached the Prince. “But I need to discuss a few more details, your highnesses. Will it be alright in my office?”
“Yes,” Prince Philip agreed. “How about the bodyguard?” He asked.
“He’s still in operation. He’s critical.”
“Do everything to bring him back.” Prince Philip said. “Let’s go, darling. You need to change your clothes.”
Kaisley nodded her head as she followed him to the private room. To her surprise, Victoria was there with her clothes. She helped her to clean up. Then, shortly, they went to Caleb’s VVIP room. They stayed there and she sat on the seat beside the bed and held her husband’s hand.
“I will leave now,” Victoria told her. “Grandpa will stay with you, okay?”
Kaisley nodded her head and watched as Victoria left.
“Something happened?” Kaisley asked him.
“The King had a breakdown when he saw Caleb’s condition. But he will be fine in a few days.”
“Is he staying in the castle?” Kaisley asked.
“Yes,” He patted her back. “Don’t worry my dear, everything will be alright.”
She sniffled and nodded her head. He felt sorry for their niece who had a lot of trauma. From being a battered wife, she is now experiencing this kind of situation where she might lose the love of her life. But with their technology, Prince Philip promised himself that he will do everything to protect his family until his last breath.
“Are you hungry? How about water?”
She shook her head and stared at her husband.
“You aren’t hurt anywhere, darling?” The Prince asked.
“I’m fine, Uncle.” She sighed and caressed her husband’s hand. “We were ambushed while leaving the meeting place. Caleb makes sure that I have a vest on while he doesn’t have one. The first one that died was our driver. They shot the spot at the same time until the bulletproof windshield gave up and hit him.” She explained.
“What do you mean?” Prince Philip sat down and looked at her. “How can they shoot at the same spot?”
“I think they have a sniper with an exceptional marksman. Caleb knew that there were a lot of people that would die. We delayed them enough.”
“Then, what happened to your phones and trackers?” He asked. “We had been searching for you for so long.”
“We had left it in the car after we jumped off before it exploded.” She whispered. “Luckily, there were citizens that helped us. Most of them won’t get involved. But they found us and Caleb got shot when he screamed at those people to leave. But luckily, Kane and Hardin found us.”
“I’m relieved that you are safe. You need to speak to Edgar shortly, maybe after he wakes up?”
“And Victoria? Can she make it safely back to the castle?”
“Yes, of course. She disguised well.”
“How about Stacey?” She asked again. He shook his head.
“Maverick sent her away. It’s better if she’s away from us. She will be safer and the baby.”
“She will miss everything,” Kaisley said. “But it’s not important. Her safety is important.” She mumbled.
“I will stay here with you, just to make sure that you are safe. Shortly, Kane Sparrow will be with you.”
“Uncle,” she turned to him. “What’s going to happen now?”
He caressed her hair.
“We will not stand back.”
