The Ceo And Me! - Chapter 230
“Holy Jesus!!! Who is this??”
And that made Tinsley turn around almost immediately to see Jessica looking at Kian with big saucer eyes.
“Shit!!!”
She whispered and walked up to where Jessica was standing. Hearing the commotion, Kian woke up at that moment.
He opened his eyes, partially to see the two women gawking at him. He abruptly sat up, getting reminded of his situation.
He searched for his shirt, to cover himself up and Tinsley tossed him her scarf from the chair. He grabbed it.
“Are you not the stranger dropping Tin home??”
Jessica questioned, with narrow eyes.
“What are you doing here??”
It only alarmed Jessica, thinking who was this young man. Tin was panicking about how she could divert Jessica’s attention and let her out of the house.
Kian got up, not knowing what to say and what not for he knew that one wrong word used, he would end up getting his path tossed with his wife and he for one, at that moment, wanted anything but that.
“He…he…”
“I crashed here for the night because my car got flat tires.”
Kian blurted out, interrupting Tin and for once, she was grateful to how he covered up for her.
“Well, that is not how you sleep without clothes in a single woman’s house, boy!! Learn some decency!”
Jessica spat, glaring at him, his entire form from top to bottom and maybe, it was for the first time, he felt self-conscious and insecure under someone’s gaze.
“Now don’t stay there, standing, gawking at us…off you go, put your clothes on and get the hell out of here!!!”
And it was enough for Kian to be on his feet, moving speedily in the direction of the bedroom and to the bathroom.
“Where is he going now??”
“He is going to put his clothes on in the bathroom.”
Tinsley said, trying to calm down the old woman and in the midst of it, she could not help the laughter, she was suppressing it in herself as she saw how the man, who nobody dared to even look back at, was getting scolded by an old woman.
“Being kind is a wonderful thing but do not let a stranger live in your place like that…you do remember the incident when your house got robbed..dont you??”
And standing on the corner of the bedroom, listening to the conversation, he could not be more riled up, worried about her protection, thinking when her house got robbed. There was so much he did not know about…what had happened to her in these past months.
“Keep me updated when he is gone.”
Tinsley nodded, handing her the salad and the old lady was out, lovingly bidding her farewell for the moment.
At least, she had someone who cared for her and after her when he was not there to do it himself.
When she closed the door behind her, she looked in the direction of the bedroom, thinking what was he doing this time inside??
And she was not going to be daring enough to check him out this time. Her face got heated, getting flashes of last night in her mind.
She tried to divert her mind from wandering to the wrong places and went to the kitchen to have her breakfast.
She did not know whether or not she should leave a bit of breakfast for him? Was he entitled to after he literally threatened her of snatching her own child from her??
But should she be in benefit of getting him all agitated and mad enough to drag her to the courthouse for real??
She decided to leave two toasts on the plate, near the coffee maker so that when he came, all ready to leave, he could see it and have it for himself.
She took her sweet time, eating her pie, the toasts, munching on it as she sipped her glass of milk, occasionally stealing glances to the bedroom, wondering where was he??
She was getting late for her shift at the bakery and she could not leave him in the house, all alone when she would be out.
Then a few seconds later, he finally made his appearance, dressed back on his shirt and pants. He dropped the coat on the sofa and headed towards her.
His hairs were slick and wet from the shower and when he inched closer, she could smell his Cologne and it made her delirious, she looked away.
“Uhmmm…”
“I m getting late for my shift at the bakery.”
Before he could say anything, she stood up, taking her empty plate and glass to the sink to clean them.
“I could do that…”
Kian strode forward and grabbed the plate from her hand, pushing her aside from the sink, turning on the faucet, to clean it up.
“Didn’t the doctor tell you to take off from working?”
He questioned, simultaneously, washing the dish off and glass, getting it dry and she helped in putting it back to its place.
“I have to pay my bills and save up for the baby so I can’t take off this early.”
Came her reply, and it made Kian annoyed, that she was still keeping this act up if being all independent.
“I m here now so you don’t need to worry about those…”
Kian said and she could tell, where this conversation was going to go. Their encounter about her first time getting a job, back that time, how he reacted by asking her to drop out when she only wanted to help him…he had not changed one bit.
So she decided to ignore him instead and walked out of the kitchen to get her bag and wear her shoes to go.
Her attitude was pissing him off as he could presume she was giving him the silence back yet again.
“Hey…talk to me!”
Kian stepped up to her, putting his hand on her shoulder and turning her around to face him.
“I have nothing to say!”
She answered and he closed his eyes as she tested his patience in the very morning and he was trying very hard not to let it all out.
“Yes…you do! We do need to talk!”
The intense eye stare at each other, not moving, not backing down. She was the first to pull out and push him aside.
“I m getting late!”
She plopped down on the sofa to wear her shoes. He watched her for a moment and then walked up to her, standing before her stature.
“You do know that we are married right?”
And Tin took a deep intake of air, the very mention of the word marriage always gets her.
It reminded me of her…what a failed marriage she had?? And here he was reminding her of that…the one thing she thought she would never end, which she did and ran away from it.
“Thanks for reminding me! I keep forgetting. ”
She passed him a sly smile and stood up, walking past him. His patience was running short and he followed behind her.
“Do not talk to me like that!”
“Like how??”
She posed, turning back to look at him. Her hormones were acting up. She could not bear the sight of him at that moment.
“Like this…trying to act that you are all independent but you are not…”
“Of course, I m…I m an independent soul…”
Tinsley interrupted him and did not step aside or backwards when he strode towards her…in her directing, looking as intimidating as ever.
But in her mind, she knew that if she would show him that she was affected by it, he was going to like it and she was not going to give him that joy.
“You are married to me and that child, you are carrying…is mine now…so you better start acting like a proper wife when there is time…”
Kian let out and it only got Tin chuckling at him.
“Just why not give up??? Wanting to accept another’s blood as yours…give up Kian Randall!”
And it hit him hard and he knew that she was intending for him to get hit by it, taking a step back and leaving her to be.
But she was far from aware of the reality, he was not going to leave her…not today or ever in the future.
“Playing dirty or tell me I m too good to accept someone else’s blood as mine…legally, I m the father of that child you are carrying…I have an equal say as much as you on her behalf.”
He pointed out, holding her wrist and pulling her close to his body. She did know that he was going to beat around the bush with the law with her from henceforth.
“Yet I m going to go work and you do not have any legal authority to control my fucking life, husband!”
She spat and pushed him aside, grabbing her bag and getting out, pissing him off for good.
