The CEO’s Lovely Wife - Chapter 225
“What? Can’t I do anything I want? What are you so worried about?” Master He said in a voice of indifference yet sharp. He looked at He Jei.
It has to be said that out of the four of his children, He Jie was the only son he has who has the same characteristics as he is. He has a good head on his neck with brains for business. The only problem was that he was not domineering enough to lead hundreds and thousands of people. He was also worried that He Jie would get swallowed up whole by those cunning old farts.
“You are too soft, Jei’er.” Master He sighed.
‘Soft? Soft?! How am I soft?’ He Jei felt like his pride of being a man just got tested by his own father. Where was he soft? Was his father questioning his s.e.x.u.a.lity?
His jaw tightened and his face dark.
Master He, who was looking at his eldest son with disappointment, suddenly raised his brow as soon as he saw the look on his son.
“Oh? So you can also have that look on yourself huh.” Master He smirked, feeling delighted. He does not know that his son was so offended by calling him “soft.”
He Jei felt like his headache was getting worse. He has to calm down. Sighing deeply, he looked at his father again with a complicated look.
“Father, don’t just decide something just because you find it convenient. You have to think this carefully. Do you think that the branch companies we have are small?” He smiled bitterly. He really felt so helpless with his father’s overly carefree personality.
The heads in the meeting room only kept their mouths shut as they don’t seem to have any need to b.u.t.t in and say something with the talk between father and son. But they were also alarmed when they found how nonchalant their president was in giving half his business to his son. They were not informed of this at all and they don’t have much confidence that He Jei could manage the company and the companies under it.
They expected that He Jei would be so delighted with getting this golden offer which had fallen from the sky and into He Jei’s hands. Yet they were surprised again because aside from the fact that He Jei rejected the arrangement made by the president but he was even trying to convince his father to rethink his decision.
Somehow, the heads was not as opposed to the decision of their president if they would work under He Jei. Just some small improvements, then maybe He Jei could lead them as magnificently as the president. Just that they hoped that He Jei was not as unreasonable as their president.
However, Master He only waved his hand in dismissal. He does not want to hear anymore of He Jei’s useless talk. Yes, that’s right. It was useless. He was a person who does things in his own pace and when he announced that He Jei will handle half of his companies, then that’s that. Their was no longer any room for negotiation.
“I already said it so I can’t take it back anymore. Assistant Ke, arrange the doc.u.ments for the transferal with the responsibilities to Jei’er.” Master He said, not looking at He Jei’s sorry state, a person looking as if he was carrying the whole world on his back.
He Jei was so oppose with this but looking at the face of his father with words “I won’t hear your complaints so just swallow it and accept what I arranged for you” written all over his cunning old face.
“President!” Assistant Ke was so terrified. He can’t believe that his master would say something so lightly as if it was not a big deal. ‘Why is my master like this?!’
Master He did not look at Assistant Ke’s pale face and turned his hawk-like eyes with a mischievous glow flashing across his eyes while looking at his subordinates. His smile was so wide and dazzling, making the wrinkles in his face to be more prominent that before. This smile seemed so bright and innocent but his subordinates knew that it was not like that at all.
They knew that their president was tossing his responsibilities to his son just so he could play outside. If they do not know better, they would have thought that their president was someone who was so frivolous and was sloppy with his work.
*Sigh* A sigh escaped He Jei’s lips, completely dejected. There was sadness in his face. He was looking really gloomy at this moment.
“I can’t spend more time with my darling daughter.” He Jei sadly muttered, his voice almost cracked and sounded like he was about to cry. His back hunched dejectedly.
All eyes turned to the low-spirited He Jei as soon as they heard his muttering. Then, from their optimistic aura, it instantly turned dark, the same as their eyes looked in a distance, dead and defeated.
‘Yes. How could they forget that he was their president’s son?’ The subordinates of Master He felt like they might not have any normal president who has weird personalities. The father was too frivolous and the son had an undeniable daughter complex.
Assistant Ke was still complaining to his master with all his might. Even if he had to plead on his knees or smack his master’s head just to get some sense of him, he would do that. But his master just did not spare him any heed and ignored him completely.
“Father!” A shout was then heard outside of the meeting room before the door was pushed open unceremoniously.
There stood a man in his late forties. He was the youngest son of He Tian, He Jin. He was also a good-looking man but he was someone rather peculiar. He wears a white suit with a light pink tie.
He strode into the meeting room with large strides and only stopped a few feet away from Master He with eyes as red like a raging beast.
“What do you mean by giving half of our company to first brother? What is the meaning of this?” He was shouting hysterically inside the meeting room without restraint under the eyes of a lot of executives. He was too focused with blowing his top that he had completely ignored others.
Master He only looked at his youngest son with dead eyes. This showed that he was not affected by the whining of He Jin. Truthfully, he had literally blocked off all noise in his surroundings.
“Father, I can’t accept this. What about me? What would happen to me? No, I can’t accept this.” He Jin was trembling in indignation. Seeing his father not giving him any answer, he was so angry that his face turned livid. Right, he could talk to Assistant Ke to help him convince his father to rethink this.
He turned his head around to scan the room only to notice that the top executives of the mother company and subsidiaries. He froze for a moment, stumped. To think that he had just shown something unsightly in front of this people. He felt like he had lost a lot of face.
Coughing to hide his anger and embarrassment, he straightened himself and turned to look at Assistant Ke who had a frustrated look on his face. He did not think much about Assistant Ke’s unusual face and instead just turned to talk to him.
“Uncle Ke, tell father that he should not spout some nonsense half-heartedly.”
Master He scrunched his nose at this. He did not like that at all. Him? Half-hearted? When did he ever do something like that?
No, scratch that. Maybe he did regret his decision one time when he let go of his daughter. And now, his guilt was eating him. Good thing that his daughter left him a granddaughter whom he can dote on tremendously.
