The CEO’s Lovely Wife - Chapter 276
Hours, days, and weeks passed, Peizhi became more and more cautious about his surroundings. No matter where he was, even in his own home, he would be seen all jittery and looked around him frantically.
However, he still went to his Park Company and sometimes drop by the Halo Company. He would be out at night meeting directors, executives, and investors. Because of his busy schedule, the time he had spent with his family became lesser and the distance with him and his son, Longwei, got wider.
“Mother.” Longwei called when he saw his mother, Fu Yung, enter from the front door with her limited edition bag winter series with a happy look on her face. She seemed spirited, not at all bothered by the lack of attention from her husband.
Hearing a childish call that was neither warm nor cold, Fu Yung turned to the source of it. Upon seeing Longwei standing by the stairs looking directly at her, her eyes became warm. She strode toward him and c.a.r.e.s.sed his smooth milky cheeks.
“Baby, why are you still up? It’s already time for you to go to bed.” Fu Yung said and handed her bag to a maid before pulling Longwei’s chubby hand upstairs to his own bedroom.
“…I’m not sleepy.” He finally replied after thinking for a minute. He peered on the side profile of his mother’s face for a moment before returning his gaze on the stairs. He was then led inside his room and put to bed.
“Hua, prepare a warm milk for Wei’er.” Fu Yung said to the young maid on the side before turning her attention on Longwei and said, “Baby, if you can’t sleep, you just have to ask your nanny to make you some warm milk, that way, you’ll have a more comfortable sleep.”
Longwei looked at his mother in the eyes as if searching something in those. He was just a 5-year-old kid who was only a little m.a.t.u.r.e for his age but he was still, unfortunately, just a child. He was not yet exposed to the dark faces and conspiracies of people; thus, he can’t see through the heart of his own mother.
“Mother, I have not seen father much lately. Even if I wake up early, I can only see his back disappearing from the door.” He said, pursing his lips. His childish voice leaked out a trace of sadness and disappointment in him. “Where is father?”
Fu Yung paused for a split second, her heart thumping, as soon as she heard this and then recovered. She acted as if nothing out of the ordinary happened. She just smiled lightly and tapped Longwei’s little nose.
“He’s busy managing two companies that’s why he’s not here lately.” She replied. “You father is working so hard for the both of us, to make us live happy. You know that, right?”
Longwei’s little face became thoughtful that Fu Yung’s eyes could not help but flash in amus.e.m.e.nt. She wanted to squeeze his milky chubby cheeks but held herself as to not make her son upset. Soon, his little head nodded.
“Yes, mother.” He said. He pursed his lips with his brows slightly furrowed and asked albeit reluctant. “How about big sister? Father needs to work hard to also support big sister especially since she’s living outside, right?”
Fu Yung’s smile instantly faltered. Why can’t it be? There is no one else that Longwei can call his “big sister” other than October. She really wondered why her son had mentioned her all of a sudden.
‘Why is he mentioning her now? I don’t suppose they’ve met that before aside from that time during his birthday and her wedding. No, wait. Did that woman approached my son behind my back to scheme on me? using my own son? That woman! How dare she!’
Fu Yung felt her veins freezing cold. The more she thought about it, the more that it was really the case that October tried to get close with Longwei to get some information in the Park Company.
‘No, I can’t let that happen.’ She thought as she became annoyed and disgusted by October’s underhanded tricks. Still, she was confident that she can handle her just like she did back then when she pushed Peizhi in hating October. She already did it once so she can do it again.
‘All of the assets that’s under Peizhi’s name must be only my, Fu Yung’s, son. Even this very mansion is included. That Lanna should not even think about having any shares. She’d better not take what’s not hers.’
After making sure that Longwei was properly tucked in, Fu Yung quietly went to the master’s bedroom and made a quick shower. Not long later, the door of the room sounded open and came in heavy footsteps.
Peizhi had his brows furrowed enough for a fly to be pinched in between and his forehead had lines in. Even his hair seemed greyer than before.
“That damn wench.” He cursed, unceremoniously pulled off his tie that seemed to choke him to death and his coat before tossing it on the bed. His mind was filled with worry, alertness, wariness, and was even somber.
‘Does she think that it is easy to contact that estranged daughter of mine? I can’t even get a glimpse of her anymore since she took some sort of leave. It was already approved without even me knowing about it for the reason that I am her direct superior? That annoying bastard, Director Sheng. I’ll definitely deal with you after I settle everything.’
Peizhi was so annoyed about almost everything. For him, things does not go as he had planned and hoped. It was all just a mess.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
Peizhi pulled out his phone from his trouser pocket and his nose scrunched up the second he saw the caller ID. He g.r.o.a.n.e.d before answering the phone.
“What do I owe this call from you, Miss Lu.” He politely greeted on the phone with a laugh and made his way toward the balcony, shoving his hand in his trouser pocket.
“Master Park, how was that task I told you about? Did you already arranged it?” Lu Xing asked sharply. No matter if it’s in person or on the phone, her arrogance could not be ignored. Then, her voice darkened, “Or have you completely forgotten about it?”
Lu Xing’s voice was never polite. She has a lot of pride and does not bow to anyone aside from the Song family in City A. Aside from them, she was does not put anyone into her eyes, much less Peizhi Park who is only somewhat successful in City D.
“Of course I remembered.” Peizhi gloatingly laugh despite having to swallow his grievances of not being respected by a junior. But he has to endure because he ha to rely on her connections to save his company. “However, there’s a slight problem.”
“What is it now?!” Lu Xing snapped. Her plan had already delayed for a long time now. The longer it was, her man would most likely be fully bewitched by that btch Lanna. When thinking about this, her eyes turned a violent storm and her face darkened by a lot.
“My stubborn daughter can’t be contacted. She blocked my number and she’s always cooped up in her house. It seemed like her husband forbids her to have any contact with anyone, including me.”
“I don’t care!” Lu Xing hissed. All of these things she heard were all excuses. And she don’t want any of that. All she wants is Lexus to leave October so she can have all of him. She was beyond reason, almost being hysterical.
“You listen to me, Peizhi Park. I want you to do everything, anything, to make that btch leave her residence. You have to make sure about that. Remember that I am the only person who can help you with your crisis right now. Without me, your company will be doomed, you hear?! Now, get your little bird brain working!”
Peizhi was not able to say anything until the phone call ended. He felt his veins pulsating in anger, humiliation, frustration, and stress. He was so tired of all of it that he just want to vent on something. He did not even realize that Fu Yung was behind him all along listening to him on the phone.
“Dear, do you want to wash up first? Or do you want to eat?” Fu Yung’s melodious voice sounded on the back. Peizhi recognized her voice and soon, his negative thoughts and feelings lessened. He calmed his breathing before turning to his young and lovable wife.
“I’ll go see my son first then I’ll wash up.” He said before dropping a kiss on her temple and heading out to his son’s room.
Fu Yung looked at Peizhi’s back disappearing from the door with her face covered by the shadow of darkness.
“It’s okay, father. You are working for me and mother. You work for us to be happy.” Longwei cleverly said.
Hearing this, Peizhi felt even more apologetic for his sensible son. Truly, his son was the best, unlike that abominable daughter.
“Father, can I visit elder sister?”
