The CEO’s Lovely Wife - Chapter 281
“Big sister…” Longwei called out, quite timidly at that. He does not know why he lacks the calmness he always had when he is in the presence of his big sister, Lanna.
In addition to being not used to feeling this, the walk they had was as silent as it could be aside from the “clicks” and “clacks” of their shoes.
One small and tall figures walked in the hallways of the building was pretty much an unusual sight as children seldom visits in the company. What was more eye-catching with this pair was that both have impeccable looks that nobody could ever ignore. Thus, employees and visitors in the company who this good-looking pair of siblings passed by always turn to look at them and
October turned to look at her brother who keeps on peeking at her every now and then. And when their eyes collided, he would instantly turn around to avoid her gaze with his own lowered and ears red.
Longwei could feel the hard gaze that her sister was giving him. It does not hurt but it still made him somewhat uncomfortable and shy.
‘Why is big sister looking at me so intensely? Do I look weird? Is there something wrong with my looks? Any dirt? Is my hair a mess? Or my clothes, does it not suit me? Or am I dirty? Smelly? Or…does she hate me walking close to her?’ He truly felt tangled. The attention that his sister was giving him was making his little heart flutter to the point that he could not walk the right way.
“B-big sister Lanna, can you please stop staring at me?” He said with a troubled face while fiddling with his little hands. He looked up to see what his sister’s reaction was only to find that it was only a few inches away from him.
“Ah~!” He jumped so suddenly and almost tumbled over. He closed his eyes to wait for his small butt to fall on the floor, but it never came somehow. On the other note, he can feel a hand on his shoulder, holding him in place. He opened his eyes and saw that it was his sister’s. Embarrassed and humiliated, his face puffed in red and said in a fluster, “Th-thank…you, big sister Lanna.”
“Mm.” October’s brow twitched as her eyes flashed an emotion that she quickly covered up and instead looked over to intently gaze at Longwei’s face. However, whenever she looked, he would do the same way, turning his cute face away from her.
With her fine brow arched, her hand raised Longwei’s chin to face her. She could see that he was turning redder and redder by the minute but there was only one thing that she thought off.
Cute.
Nodding her head in agreement to this thought, she mumbled to herself, “Really cute. Will my darling babies be as cute as you?”
‘Cute…cute? Is big sister saying that I am cute? Did I hear that right?’
Longwei, hearing his big sister saying such in front of him, blinked his eyes a couple of times as if trying to digest her words. Right now, the matureness he had usually displayed was now fully replaced with a rare innocence that a boy his age should have.
“Cute…me?” As he said this to himself, his face turned red as tomato almost instantly.
Longwei was in a daze trying to wrap his brain with it all the way to the cafeteria. He did not even notice that October took advantage of the absentminded him as she held his little hand this whole time. It was not until they stopped in front of a table for two by the large aquarium filled with colorful fishes, corals, and other living creatures.
“Is this table fine with you?” October tilted her head to him as she asked, her voice unknowingly softened with a hint of tenderness in it.
“If not, we can transfer in that table by that window over there. What do you think?” She offered. She thought that it was best to let the child choose a place that makes him more comfortable. He was too stiff and clearly uncomfortable with her so she wanted to let him relax even just for a little bit.
At this time, Longwei successfully snapped out of his daze by her question. His eyes blinked and looked at the table in front of him then to the table that was just pointed to by October and back on the table by the aquarium. For a child like him, he prefer sitting here which makes him feel like he was swimming with fishes. He thought that it would be very cool. He paused though when he thought of what his sister will think of him if she knew what he was thinking.
Noticing Longwei fiddling with his fingers that was folded in front of him, October raised her brow with interest. He was tangled and October felt bad to tease him more so she thought that she’ll stop…for now.
“You don’t like it here? Well, I prefer here since it seemed interesting…(especially seeing your eyes always glancing at the aquarium as if they were stars sparkling with a brilliant light) and that I don’t want to walk anymore. My feet hurts.” October casually said to not make the little guy tense.
“N-no. I mean, well, since big sister Lanna likes it here, then we’ll stay here.” He said with finality in his voice while raising his chin, as if to say that he was giving way for his sister. Though that was what he wanted for people to see him, he only sounded more of an innocent kid posing as an adult man.
‘Big sister really is pitiful. Her feet are hurting from all that walking. She’s so fragile.” He thought.
‘He really is such an interesting kid making him so cute.’ October thought as a small smile made it’s way at the corners of her lips.
At this moment, where both siblings were in thought, something caught Longwei’s attention. He turned his head and his eyes widened and a flash of astonishment then joy emerged in his
eyes. His lips pursed. He could feel his face burning up, even his hand that was being held by October felt like it was on fire. All he could hear now was the drumming of his heart.
“Uhm…big sister Lanna, you can let go of my hands now.” He said, trying to remain calm.
October looked at their linked hands for a moment before letting go. As soon as she let go, she instantly felt regret. She wanted to continue holding that small jade-like hand that was as soft and squishy as marshmallow.
“Ugh. Mm.” Breathing hard, Longwei tried again and again to climb unto the high chair by himself while groaning. He used all of his strength to pull himself up but no matter how much he tries, he can’t do it. It was frustrating. For the first time in his life, he felt so helpless and wanted to grow taller quickly.
*Chuckle*
A chuckle was heard behind Longwei. His struggle stopped and looked back at the person who just laughed at him, looking really upset.
October was just too fond with this younger brother of hers that she just couldn’t help but pinch his cheeks. The soft, elastic cheeks were like marshmallows coated with white powder.
Somehow, she has the urge to some of those now. She took note of that, thinking of telling Lexus about this.
‘Need to remind him to buy no more than 2 packs.’
October remembered that time when she craved strawberries and that “good” husband of hers bought boxes of those. How can she eat all of those?! She was thankful about how he dotes on her but he was just too excessive at times.
“Sister…”
October finally snapped out of her reverie. She looked down and saw that Longwei was looking at her full of grievances, a person who just got bullied.
The culprit, a.k.a. bully, is none other than October herself.
Instantly letting go of Longwei’s cheeks that are now red, October cleared her throat in guilt while diverting her eyes.
After composing herself, October carried Longwei up and placed him on the chair before sitting on hers herself.
The waiter that was on standby since the two entered the cafeteria that was more like a restaurant immediately assisted the two.
Meanwhile, in the uppermost floor, the elevator door dinged open. Two ladies stepped out of there: one was a beautiful lady that looks like a celebrity and another is an elegant lady with white streaks on her hair who looks stern and cold with a bearing of a noble.
The beautiful lady assisted the elegant lady with so much care and respect but her smile looked playful and mischievous. Her beauty was one of the best throughout the building and so they garnered so much attention.
However, what made the two all the more eye-catching was because they used the elevator that was used exculsively for the President and CEO of the company. What was more strange was that no security guards stopped them. No, more like they did not dare stop the elegant old lady from entering.
