The Charming Villain Just Wants To Be A Salted Fish - Chapter 18.1
Joyce froze.
I sent the princess away, why did she come back??
But…
Joyce covered her face. “Isn’t the princess’s name… Isabella?”
Long Aotian did not answer. It did not matter to him what the princess was called. He cautiously turned his eyes to Sean.
“She said… she’s here to save her knight.”
With an awkward look on her face, Joyce followed Long Aotian’s gaze to Sean.
Sean’s calm eyes were on her as if he knew nothing about what was going on.
Joyce swiftly looked away. “Where is she?”
Long Aotian raised his chin haughtily. “In case of deceit, I ignored her.”
“…” Well done!
Joyce cleared her throat. “Good. Is there anything else?”
“She fainted in front of the castle so I finally had her brought in.” Long Aotian took on the attitude of a villain. “I have locked her up in the dungeon.”
“…” Joyce tried to relieve the pressure of her headache. She didn’t know if it was because she had not drunk enough blood or because of the princess’s sudden visit. She stood up helplessly, thinking about how she should remediate the situation, and quickly walked out of the room.
A spoiled princess was locked up by them in the dungeon. If the male lead and the second male lead knew about this, wouldn’t the entire castle be completely annihilated? They had to send this instigating princess away as soon as possible…
Joyce ran nervously to the dungeon. Once there, she saw Princess Isabella lying haggardly in the dungeon. She was so scared that her soul was about to split from her.
Princess Isabella woke up quietly, and Joyce hurried to her side.
“Princess Isabella, you have suffered!”
Sean and Long Aotian: “…”
As soon as Princess Isabella sat up, she was being held. She looked up in fear and didn’t seem to know what was going on.
Joyce made the first move and said, “It’s all my carelessness. I’ll have the carriage prepared to take you back.”
“No, no, I…”
“Yes, I’ll take you back myself!” Joyce immediately turned her head and told the stupefied Long Aotian, “Go and prepare the carriage!”
“No, really. This time I’m actually here…” As Isabella spoke, there was a slight rumble from her stomach. Her face reddened and she lowered her head sheepishly.
“Look at me. How can I keep you here? You haven’t eaten yet. I’ll take you to eat something,” Joyce said and pulled up Isabella. “The most we have is delicious food!”
“No need…” Isabella swiftly refused. Her face turned white at the thought of what vampire food was.
Joyce enthusiastically took her hand and walked out of the dungeon. “They are cooking at this moment,” she said, “I’ll show you!”
Isabella was dragged out of the dungeon. She was about to refuse when the smell of the food made her forget what she wanted to say.
The door was pushed open and it revealed a group of people who were busy preparing the meal. They bowed politely when they saw Joyce and went back to cooking.
Isabella looked at these people in surprise. They didn’t seem to be vampires, but… humans.
“These humans are…,” she muttered without thinking.
“Them?” Joyce smiled bashfully. “They are the people who stayed in the castle to provide us with blood.”
A stunned Isabella stared at the people in disbelief. Although she had heard vampires would keep humans in captivity to have a supply of blood, it was rumored that those people would have their blood sucked on all day long until they died. But the people in front of her were laughing and cooking…
“”
Seeing that the princess had fallen silent, Joyce quickly explained, “I didn’t mean to enslave these people. I don’t have a sense of taste, and my cooking is really bad, so I just asked them to do the cooking.”
In astonishment, Isabella turned her eyes back to the busy and cheerful group of people. Then, she looked at the delicious food.
Seeing her like this, Joyce immediately felt that it was time to establish a positive image of her as the villain, and continued, “I just heard from Xiao Long that you fainted, are you tired?”
Sean and Long Aotian: “…”
Isabella blushed slightly and made a gesture. “I’m not.”
Joyce thought of the strawberry cake she had made, and her eyes lit up. “Do you like cakes? I just made a strawberry cake. Come and have a taste. If you want anything else you want to eat, let me know!”
As she spoke, she took out the cake that had just been made. She was about to bring it to Princess Isabella, when Sean, who had been silent, came forward and pushed the plate containing the cake back into the cupboard.
Joyce followed his actions and watched the cake be put back in a hurry. She looked at the person next to her in disbelief.
Sean coldly shut the door of the cupboard, visibly upset. ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
Long Aotian looked at their strange behavior and frowned at Princess Isabella. “Since Your Highness is wary of us, you should not eat anything from here.”
It dawned on Joyce that Sean was afraid that she would poison her. But how could she? She still wanted to hug the female lead’s thigh…
And… Why did she feel so uncomfortable looking at Sean’s cautious expression?
“No, it is not like that.” Princess Isabella’s hand that was reaching out stopped. Her eyes went to Sean, and she was slightly startled. “I couldn’t find anyone to save you, so I came back by myself.”
Even if she knew this, Joyce still felt a twinge in her heart when she saw how harmonious the two people in front of her looked. Sean was living well here. She didn’t mistreat the little knight. He didn’t need to be saved…
