The Charming Villain Just Wants To Be A Salted Fish - Chapter 20.3
But as soon as she said this, she realized that these pursuers were not Sean’s men. For a moment, she suddenly felt that her words from before were particularly embarrassing in this present situation.
“Where else can you escape to now?” ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
“I didn’t do anything bad. What are you trying to capture me for?”
After the knights surrounded them, the man in the black cloak slowly walked out from behind them. The red-eyed snake was perched on his shoulder, hissing. The greed in those crimson eyes flashed unabashedly at Joyce who was right in the middle.
“His Majesty ordered that all vampires are to be killed on the spot.”
He looked keenly at the girl in front of him, his eyes hidden under his black cloak. Without listening to any excuses from Joyce, he ordered them to take her down.
The red-eyed snake was unable to hold back and slid off his shoulder. It quickly went along the paved road in the alley towards Joyce!
The red-eyed snake opened its mouth and Joyce gasped. Even though she was now a vampire, and a high ranking one at that… she was so scared that she couldn’t even speak!! She was simply afraid of this long and slippery thing!!
She was trying to figure out how to get rid of the red-eyed snake that was coming straight at her, when she was suddenly pulled back by the man behind her.
Ice thorns pierce out of the ground one after another to block the red-eyed snake and the armored knights for a brief period of time. Sean pulled Joyce and quickly escaped from them.
They managed to escape their pursuers. Joyce’s breathing was a little unstable, and she looked around to figure out the direction of the church using her memory.
“What are you looking for?”
Sean’s voice came from behind her, and Joyce hesitated. “Your Majesty, you are a busy man, you don’t have to follow me…”
“I’m not busy.”
“…”
Sean looked around and caught a glimpse of the old church in the narrow alley. He turned to look at Joyce. “Who else did you mean when you said ‘we’?”
“What do you mean ‘we’?”
“Who are you running far away with?” Sean raised an eyebrow. “Is it Long Aotian?”
Under his dangerous gaze, Joyce retreated step by step until she was against the wall.
“Your Majesty, your men have been chasing us for a long time. You can’t keep wasting your time on us, we are useless villains.” Joyce looked at him while breathing heavily. Having run for a long time, she was inevitably a little exhausted. “As for Long Aotian, he won’t harm you at all. I will keep an eye on him and will not let him touch the princess in the future.”
She stopped looking at him and wanted to go straight past him.
“Your Majesty?” Sean narrowed his eyes slightly. He suddenly heard something. He turned to the church close by. “Those are not my people, and now… a vampire seems to be in danger.”
Joyce was surprised, and she followed Sean’s eyes…
Long Aotian!
She said nothing more, and the two quickly ran in the direction of the church.
…
Inside the old church.
Long Aotian, who was surrounded by the knights, was on the verge of dying. The red-eyed snake climbed up along his body, opened its bloody mouth, and bit at his neck.
It was the first thing Joyce saw when she arrived.
She froze at the terrifying sight in front of her.
Her gaze was fixed on the neck that had been bitten by the snake.
Snakes ate their prey by swallowing them whole, so why did the red-eyed snake in front of her not look like a snake, but rather… like a vampire sucking on blood.
At that moment, the black cloaked man standing in the middle of everyone looked like he was enjoying what was happening. It was as if what the snake had sucked was being delivered to his taste buds.
Something flashed through Joyce’s mind…
If those victims looked like they were sucked dry by vampires and were maliciously transformed into vampires, then their blood was being transformed into vampire blood before they completely transformed into a vampire…
Like this, they could not only cover up their goal and a large number of vampire deaths, but also shift all the blame onto the vampires!
Joyce suddenly came back to reality and looked at Long Aotian, whose blood was being sucked on, staring in her direction.
But his eyes moved away hastily as if he were afraid of being discovered by the black mage. He raised his trembling fingers slightly and motioned for her to run away quickly. It was like he had given up on his life; he slowly closed his eyes.
Joyce wanted to run away.
She just wanted to save herself and find a place that no one could find and stay far away from the male and female leads.
But this low IQ vampire was so foolish that every day, like a broken record, nagged her about how they needed to kidnap the princess and save the Primogeniture, all while holding a haughty, self-important expression all day. Yet, he secretly wanted to raise a cat when no one was looking.
He was a villain who was not very good at using his brains and was completely used as a plot device for the story…
He cut his wrist for her when she had no appetite to drink blood, and he also tried to distract the pursuers away from her when they were in danger…
Joyce struggled but then made a decision and stepped forward…
