The Charming Villain Just Wants To Be A Salted Fish - Chapter 20.4
“Wait a minute!” Sean grabbed her and whispered.
“I can’t wait.”
Joyce’s eyes were on Long Aotian who was already pale, his eyes closed. With hesitation, she made a dash towards the black snake.
…
Joyce quickly jumped on the red-eyed snake and pulled it away from Long Aotian. Her movements were done in one swift motion, but the cold and slippery feeling of her hands still made her feel a chill in the deepest part of heart.
The red-eyed snake was caught off guard, it released its mouth because of her attack. The moment it realized what had happened, it pounced on her with its mouth wide open like an aggressive predator. ·̩̩̥͙**•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚ ꜱᴜᴘᴘᴏʀᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴛʀᴀɴꜱʟᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴏɴ ꜰᴏxᴀʜᴏʟɪᴄ.ᴄᴏᴍ ˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*·̩̩̥͙
Joyce gasped sharply. The courage she had just now when she attacked the snake vanished, without a drop left. She became preoccupied with avoiding the red-eyed snake’s attacks, but as soon as she avoided it, the armed knights pointed their swords at her. And the black mage, whose plans were disturbed by her, angrily directed his dark mist in her direction.
This kind of attack from both fronts made it difficult for Joyce to hold them off. As soon as she avoided the red-eyed snake’s attacks, she saw the black mist and cold iron blade coming at her!
She closed her eyes in terror, feeling like she was about to meet her end. Suddenly, a strong wind burst forth, breaking through the black mist and knocking down the red-eyed snake beside her.
Joyce opened her eyes in confusion. She could only see a huge dragon that covered up the skies in front of her. He used his tail to sweep away those fierce knights and simultaneously fended them off. With a roar, the black mist coming at her dispersed in an instant.
The head of the dragon was slightly lowered because the church’s ceiling was not very high. The intense gust lifted the black mage’s cloak, revealing a wrinkly and shocked face under the black hood. And unexpectedly, the folds of one eye and the forehead of this face fell off like a snake shedding skin. It looked strange and frightening.
“You should stop.” Sean’s voice carried a familiar calmness.
He looked at the gigantic dragon in front of him. A trace of panic flashed through his eyes, but then he regained his composure.
“Your Majesty, I am your most dedicated subordinate, behind you are some heinous vampires. Please give them to me—”
Joyce immediately realized that this man was probably the biggest villain in the plot who had been lurking around Sean for many years and might even be favored by him. She swiftly interrupted him, “This man is obviously the big villain boss. When he sucks up the power of the vampires, he will be unstoppable!”
Sean, who had turned into a dragon, could not understand her strange words and only whispered, “I’m not that old to the point where I can’t tell what’s going on.”
In a flash, the black mage’s eyes suddenly became vicious, and his sinister side was revealed. “Do you really think that you alone can win against me right now?”
As he spoke, a dark mist emerged and started surrounding them. The red-eyed snake, which had been knocked to the side, began to wriggle in pain. Gradually, it increased several times in size and into a pitch-black python.
“Get on.”
The dragon lowered his head and told Joyce who was looking for a place to hide.
Joyce scrambled to climb up his back with a weak Long Aotian. The dragon’s back gave a different feeling from that of the snake, but the hard, cold scales still made her feel tingly.
It’s a good thing Sean is a western and not an eastern dragon… Otherwise, he and the snake would really have something in…
As if sensing her dislike, the dragon looked back at her with annoyance.
At that moment, Joyce withdrew her gaze and waited to see the male lead fight the monster.
But shouldn’t someone like her, who gets in the way, go into hiding at a time like this and not make a mess for the male lead? Didn’t riding on the male lead’s back at this time affect how he would fight the boss?
Joyce was thinking things over when she saw Sean, who had transformed into a dragon, flap his wings and rise into the air with a burst of wind. He crashed through the church ceiling… and quickly flew away?!
Joyce looked back in shock at the python relentlessly chasing them on land, and then at Sean.
She asked with hesitation, “… Are we making a strategic retreat? Because a fight can’t be carried out here?”
Sean replied calmly, “I can’t beat it.”
“Aren’t you the male lead? How can you not beat it?!” Joyce exclaimed in shock. “Is it because the female lead is not here? Where are we going now? Are we looking for the female lead?”
“Isabella?” Sean frowned once he heard her. Then, he asked in an upset tone, “What do you want to look for her for?”
“…” Joyce didn’t want to fight with him over this, after all, this question always brought forth some unpleasant thoughts. “Where are we going?”
“We are waiting for reinforcements.”
“We have reinforcements?!”
“Mm.”
As soon as Sean replied, a blazing fire streaked through the skies, zigzagging straight towards the python with a howl!
Joyce’s eyes lit up. “Reinforcements are here!”
