The Chief And The Captain - Chapter 17 Seventeen
I woke up in bed with Rick sleeping soundly beside me. I planted a kiss on his forehead and stood up. The pain in my back shoot up I almost tumbled back in bed. I groaned in pain. I gritted my teeth and propped my self up once more and half dragged my whole body to the bathroom.
I turned on the tap and let the water fill the tub. I stared at my naked body in the mirror, touching each mark Rick left in my body. Then I remembered everything that happened last night. I felt embarrassed thinking that we actually did at all night like Rick suggested. But at the same time I was on cloud nine.
Rick was just a classmate, another soul I bumped to every now and then. He was another name that frequent our school paper because he’s varsity captain. He’s a friend’s best friend, childhood friend and ex boyfriend. He’s just another character that I had no idea would directly cross my path.
I don’t do relationship very well, I can’t even do well with my parents but Rick, he’s comforting. I feel like I don’t need to push myself to keep up with him.
I sat on the tub and let the cold water seep in my body. I closed my eyes as i feel each of my muscle react to the cold. It has been so long since I slowed down and took my time. I traced the scars in my wrist and remembered the comfort it used to bring.
I let out a long sigh.
“Hmm.. what’s wrong?”
I jumped at Rick’s voice. I shook my head..
“We’ll be late for school.” He said. I watched him as he washed his face and neck, water trickled down his chest.
Ughh…I dunk my head under water.
I wanted a quiet life, right?
Rick pulled me out of the water and patted my head. He gave a hearty laugh and stood up. “Come on.” He said before leaving the bathroom.
I follow him out with a towel wrapped around my waist. He was fishing a t-shirt from his bag. I looked at him longer than I intended and he gave me a wide grin. “Like what you see?” His laughter rang in my room.
“You boastful piece of shit.” I smirked and went to my closet to get a change of clothes. Rick stood behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist. He planted a kiss at the crook of my neck and mumbled, “I’d love to wake up to this everyday.”
My chest just dropped to my feet. “Yeah, me too.”
He turned me around with a gleefully look plastered in his face. “Then let’s live together?”
“What the hell are you saying?”
“Let’s live together, in college.”
I put on some clothes and pulled him in bed. I sat at the edge with him by my side. He took my hand and looked at me intently.
“I’m serious.” He pressed.
“I thought you’re going to the state college?”
He shook his head. “I told you I’d follow you right?”
He did though I thought it was meant to be a joke.
“I applied for A-UNI and was accepted, not as varsity though, but I’d make it work.” He continued.
I stared at him, dumbfounded.
“You really thought of everything, don’t you?” I smiled at him.
He planted a kiss on my forehead. “Yes my love, anything, everything for you.”
