Without a second thought, she sprinted away from the cave. She mutters some curses “Shit! Why can’t I meet him without killing a thing?! Am I cursed or what? Why do I kill every single day?! Why am I getting wronged? That fox was the one to attack me first and when I kill it, it offends him! He shouldn’t support every animal in his realm just because he is their God!”

She looks behind her to check where her ‘chaser’ is and freezes seeing no one chased her. She feels a chill and gasps when she finds him right in front of her.

Maya forwards both hands in front of her as she has to pacify the raging person “See… I did nothing. I don’t know why they try to kill me every day. You are the guardian of this Dark World. And I am well aware of your powers. Trust me. I am not your enemy. They just won’t stop bothering me and die in vain-”

‘Shit! I shouldn’t have reminded him that!’

ROAR! ROAR!

Maya feels her hands tingling as her powers want to control the situation. She grits her teeth and fists her palms hard “No! I can’t hurt him”.

In the next moment, she feels a ton of load hit her shoulders which sent her flying back. She fell back hard on a tree trunk and before falling on the ground harshly.

ROAR!

Maya rolls her eyes standing from the ground. She asks, patting her clothes nonchalantly “You know you are going easy on me?”

She looks at her flesh torn all around her shoulders and shakes her head in disbelief “Honestly? You are hurting me just because I defended myself from my enemy?! Who made you a Guardian?! So unreasonable! How could you even call yourself The Lion God of The Dark Forest?!”

She glares at the giant lion in front of her with accusing eyes but her mind is screaming one word.

‘Speak! Speak! Open that damn mouth and speak! I know you are not just a regular lion! Speak out, My Lony!!’

Maya smiles sneakily “Lony? Don’t you think you are being unfair? I am the one who has been getting attacked every day! *pouts turning away madly and mumbles* I am disappointed”.

Maya expected some reactions from him but when she turned back she was stunned.

“YOU DARE TO IGNORE ME?!”

Maya screams so loud making the birds around her fly away abruptly from her in panic.

She stomps her feet and sulks “Why won’t he speak? I know he can talk”.

GROWL!

Maya rolls her eyes turning back and asks in a bored tone “How would you like to die? Burnt into ashes or Frozen and smashed? Well… The animals won’t like the light here so the latter it will be”.

She sees the giant beer running towards her and sighs sadly “Why do you make me look bad in front of my Lony? Don’t you see he is disliking me?”

Before she could lift her hand she freezes feeling someone’s or something’s distant footsteps towards her right. She gasps surprised “You have got a team today?! They sound promising! They sound fast too!”

She turns her head lazily, almost snapping her finger but again freezes.

‘Holy shit! I almost killed my Lony!!’

She watches in a daze as the giant lion runs towards her. She feels the ground tremble under her bare feet while the lion approaches her.

By the way, who cares if the beer is about to tear her body apart into pieces? All she wanted was to see what her lovely Lony is up to!!

‘Didn’t he leave for good? Does he know that I am being attacked or is he just here for the beer’s rescue?’

She watches when the lion makes a turn in front of her. His speed while turning made Maya’s light body stumble back by force and an ear-deafening roar made the once silent dark forest into chaos.

ROAAAAAARRRRRR!

Maya almost turned deaf but she watches everything in front of her in extreme amus.e.m.e.nt.

‘Awwww! My Lony came to my rescue!! Well, he could have killed the beer silently but who cares?!’

She jumps with a squeal and runs towards the lion with her hands wide open to hug but she only gets stopped.

She frowns when she finds the lion’s paw nudging her forehead and she pouts wronged.

The huge lion watches the little creature in front of him with impatience. He notices her whole body got covered under his single paw.

And she even dared to make that cub-y face? As if she is innocent and harmless! She killed most of the animals of his forest within a month!

“Lony?”

The lion’s ears perk hearing the particular sound which she speaks whenever she is in front of him.

The lion grunts pushing her away and walks back towards his cave lazily.

Maya is about to follow but stops for a moment. She looks at the torn fleshes of the beer and chuckles “Lony is living up to his Guardian throne”.

She hops and follows the lion. She notices a paw mark of the lion on the ground and jumps inside it. She walks around the outline and muses “I wonder what he does inside the cave… He never allows me inside it”.

She again follows the lion cheerfully until the cave of course. She never entered the cave as he never allowed her to.

Maya is sleeping on a tree branch soundly. She is drooling and scratches her chin when a bug bites her face.

She tosses in her sleep and …

THUD!

GROWL!

Maya fell from the tree and rubs her shoulder as it hurts. She whimpers and notices the injuries healed mostly. She knows it will disappear without a trace in a few hours.
