The Confusions Of Love - Chapter 16 Paul
TWO MONTHS LATER…
And it was discovered that Paul Drummond’s wife is actually Elisabeth Reymond, none other than the sister of her apparent ex-fiancee, Emily Reymond.
I watched the TV on the news in my office. A photo of me with Lisa on our vacation in Honolulu, appeared on the screen. We were both swimming in the sea together. In one of the photos I was kissing her and my ring and Lisa’s ring was clearly visible for all to see.
But I should have waited for that, but I lowered my guard, I did not think about what the print would do if I found out. That I had married a teenager.
At the beginning of the year we learned that Drummond’s CEO would marry the eldest daughter of entrepreneur Thomas Reymond, the reporter continued on TV, his excited voice continued with the report. But apparently Paul Drummond’s current wife is none other than that the younger sister of Emily Reymond, the younger daughter of Thomas, Elizabeth.
More photos of me and Lisa at dinners and other places were shown on TV, along with two photos of me with Emily before the wedding. Lena is on my side also watching the report.
_ According to our sources Emily ran away on the day of the wedding and without another option, Paul married Elizabeth. Our sources have told us that Paul’s wife still attends school. Maria Helena School is a school for rich young people. We tried to find out more about the young wife and we discovered that she is actually one of her best students at the Maria Helena school.
A few more nonsense were said about our wedding. They were particularly interested in the fact that Lisa was still a student. That’s why I stopped watching and turned off the TV.
“Fix it,” I said to Lena, sitting back in my chair. “I want the news of my marriage to stop.” You can tell what happened, but leave Lisa’s name clean. She is my wife and I will not accept any disrespect or any idiotic joke about it.
“Yes sir, I’ll take care of this immediately.” Lena left without saying anything determined to settle this matter once and for all and I had the confidence that she would succeed.
I grabbed my cell phone and called Lisa, the phone rang but she did not answer. This made me worried but when I looked at the clock I calmed down. She was still at school. So I called the person who could handle it almost as well as I did. Jake.
_ I just saw the report_ he said as soon as he answered_ Are you ok?
_ Yes_ confirmed_ But Lisa is still at school. I want you to pick her up at school today and take her straight home.
_Claro_ he replied comprehensively_ Do you think she already knows about it?
I was not sure, but I was pretty sure she did. That’s why I was worried about that. And I wanted her away from the press vultures until we figured this out.
_ I still do not know, but it costs nothing to prevent.
“And when are you coming back?” He asked me. “Today is the day to open the nightclub, you know. I will not be able to stay in your house today.
“I know,” I replied. “I’ll go as soon as I can.”
I hope this gets resolved soon. Lisa and I are finally getting along. And every day was great. And the nights even better. We did nothing but play, but that was unbelievably good, too. Seeing Lisa reach for orgasm was as satisfying as my own orgasm.
Finally everything seemed perfect and this sort of thing happens. My father came through the door of my office as if it were his.
_ Do you already know what happened? _ He asked me without waiting for a reply_ What do you want to do about it?
_ We are already solving this.
“Your mother is blaming me for that.”
“And it’s really your fault,” I agreed irritably. “This damn contract.
He seemed half guilty. But he flinched, staring out the window.
“I know you’ll do what you have to do.
It’s good that you know.
When I got home Lisa was waiting for me in the living room. She got up when she came in and came to me.
“Are you okay?” I asked as I hugged her.
“Yes,” she told me shrugging as if she did not care.
But Lisa was really bad at hiding things from me. She was irritated and tense.
“It’s going to be okay,” I kissed her lightly. “Tomorrow, that will be history.
“It’s all my sister’s fault.” She pulled away from me, adjusting her glasses gently. “If she had not just run away that day.
“If she had not run away we’d both be married,” I reminded her softly.
“Do you really want to go that way?” She looked at me, ugly.
_ No_ I hurried to answer trying to hold the laughter amusing.
In the room I changed clothes with Lisa in bed watching me. She straightened to enjoy the view. I hid a smile.
“Everyone at school knows I’m married to you,” she told me. “Today was a nightmare.
_ Was it that bad?
She shrugged, looking away. But I could see she was hurt more than usual about her school. I knew very well how much Lisa hated going to that school. I even told her to change. But Lisa did not want to, she said she could take it a little longer. After all, there was little left for college.
“Teens can be cruel,” she told me with a small smile.
I felt guilty.
_ I’m sorry for that_ I put her on my lap sitting on the bed_ I neglected and forgot the vultures of the press.
“I’m going to tell you something,” she said, hugging me. “It’s all my father’s fault.
No, I smiled. My father is guilty too.
“Oh, great,” she laughed. “So let’s blame them both for our problems.
“It looks good to me,” I agreed, kissing her inviting lips.
My kiss became demanding, but Lisa was not in the mood for it now, I realized, pulling away.
“Let’s eat something.” I got her to her feet and pulled her along with me into the kitchen where we could have dinner together.
“Juliet prepared dinner before leaving,” she told me, picking up plates and setting the table.
Juliet’s food was always delicious but today it seemed kinda tasteless. I really hoped everything would work out as quickly as possible so that we could get back to normal in our lives. And without major problems.
“How about staying home for a while?” I asked Lisa next to me.
“I mean, letting go of school?” She asked me in surprise.
“Yes,” I agreed, watching her expression.
Lisa was thoughtful, but then she frowned.
_ No_ she told me determined_ I can not. The evidence is coming.
_ But that’s not a problem for you_ I pointed out. Lisa was a smart girl, she would be quite independent if she missed classes for a few days.
“I do not want to stop going to school,” she told me. “I can deal with it. Anyway what do you think will happen if I let go? They will not leave me alone if I do.
“Are you sure?” I asked worriedly.
I wanted her home until everything was settled, but if Lisa did not want to stay here I would not say anything. One of my biggest constant concerns was Lisa finally realizing that this marriage was not what she wanted.
And still had the faculty. And I knew she would. All three, I thought, had already prepared everything. I shook off the thought, it was too soon to worry about it. Let’s suffer when the time comes.
“I’m sure,” she continued. “I’ll handle it. Do not you know who I am? “She asked me with a smile,” I’m your wife.
_ Yes_ I also smile entering the joke_ You are.
“Is she seeing you?” She kissed me quickly. “It’ll be all right. You take care of things on your side and I take care of everything on my side. And then agent is at the end.
_ I hope it’s a happy ending.
_ Me too.
We just ate in silence and we packed everything together when we were done. We were relaxing in the living room while we watched a movie that was playing on the TV when the doorbell rang.
I was curious, here I did not play, they always came in. Jake and the girls had the house password and they just walked in. I’d already gotten used to Jake coming in without knocking, even the girls did not bother me any more.
So having a hit tour was news.
“Who will it be?” Lisa asked.
_ Let’s find out.
When we opened the door, an elegantly dressed woman with loose blond hair was at the door.
“Hi,” she told us.
“Emily,” I said in surprise.
I certainly did not expect that. That she had the courage to come and visit us after everything that happened and after she had disappeared for so long.
“What are you doing here?” Lisa asked irritably.
_ Calm little sister. Will not you invite me in?
