The Confusions Of Love - Chapter 21.2 Elizabeth
Dressed and ready in my school uniform and Paul dressed in a tailored suit looking like a Greek god who bothered to take a break on earth. We both left the house together and he took me to school.
“Call me if you need anything,” he told me worriedly, he had not forgotten about it.
“Love,” I said, wandering as I looked at him carefully. “You’re not my father.
The silence settled and I think I might hurt you.
_ I know.
“I love you for caring and taking care of me.” But I do not like it when you treat me like a child.
_ I do not treat you as a child …
_ Treats yes_ I interrupted taking him in his arm with affection_ And I like you even more for this. But you know sometimes I do not think you look at me and see a woman.
Near the school, just before we got there he stopped the car on the curb and turned to me.
_ I see you.
_ So what are we waiting for?
_ Lisa talked about it.
About waiting for me to turn 18? This is bullshit. Do you know.
He sighed wearily. Our eyes met and his eyes were filled with desire. It gave me a cold in the belly and all I wanted was him again.
I took the feel of it and kissed it with everything that was inside me. Love, desire. In that kiss I made it very clear that I did not want to wait any longer, that I was ready. And he understood.
“I want you,” his hoarse, low voice gave me shivers of pleasure.
_ I want you too. And I do not want to wait any longer.
At that moment we had an understanding. He started the car and entered the school grounds, students were getting in and out of cars. He kissed me again.
_ See you later.
_ I love you.
_ Love you too.
I watched the car leave. But the cold in the belly continued to make me nervous. Kelly and Tessa met me in front of our closets.
“What is it?” Tessa asked me, seeing my expression.
“We decided not to wait,” I told them.
For a minute they did not understand but Kelly killed the charade faster than Tessa.
“Finally?” Kelly looked excited.
Of the three of us, I was the only one who had ever given anyone a hand. I mean ” My husband, ” so that’s not giving someone a hand. Anyway … we were still the nerds at St. Helena College. So we were not popular with boys.
“I’m ready,” I whispered to them. “I do not even know what we’ve been waiting for.
_ Neither I_ Tessa said curiously_ Remember to tell us everything later.
“My God, Tessa,” Kelly laughed with amusement, unable to believe our shy little girl said that.
I adjusted my glasses, laughing. Greg and Jennifer passed us by.
_ What’s up guys.
_ Hi Greg_ we all answered together.
I did not know if our conversation from yesterday would have made any headway or whether Jennifer would still be pissing me off about it again, but she did not say anything to us and went straight through. I almost laugh with it.
Has she decided to ignore us? Come to think of it, I think this is for sure a great idea. Kelly, Tessa and I exchanged glances, but we did not say anything.
First class of the day advanced calculation, forgetting about everything for a moment and I threw myself into the world of numbers and it was great. Do you know what I like best in calculations? It opens a world of new possibilities and I like possibilities, it’s fun to find the answers.
Kelly hates it and that’s why she studies more than anyone else on that subject. Her forehead was wrinkled in concentration as she tried to solve a problem. Tessa was with her notebook on.
She was the only one with the permission to use it. This was because she was the one who maintained the computers of the school and thanks to her, our computers and access to the internet were wonderful. And she did everything for free.
She always said we had to thank her father who taught her everything and a little more to her. And we really thank him for it!
Today was a really full day and I was anxious to go home.
“Let’s go shopping?” I asked them a little before the end of class.
“Sure,” Kelly shrugged. “It’s been a while since we’ve been together.
“We went out together last week,” Tessa informed us.
“I’m going to tell Paul we’re going out together.” I grabbed my cell phone and texted.
“I’m going out with the girls,” I wrote to him. “I’m going home later today.
Two minutes later came the reply.
_ All right, have fun.
“Ask me what I’m going to buy,” I wrote back, smiling.
This time the answer came at once.
_ What will buy.
_ Lingerie.
This time the response took longer and I was amusing myself with the delay.
_ …. Buy something in blue. You look beautiful in blue. It’s black.
Before I could answer my history teacher interrupted me.
“Anything good on your cell phone, Mrs. Drummond?” Anything you want to share with the rest of the class?
I was scared because I did not realize that some students were looking at me. Greg and a few others as well. I noticed that he had a silly grin on his face and his cell phone in his hand.
“No, ma’am,” I replied as I wrote a quicker reply to my cell phone.
My teacher picked me up. Talk to you later.
Everyone went back to their own notebooks and my teacher went back to the subject. Only Greg continued to stare at me and it bothered me.
I heard Kelly and Tessa’s low laughter. I looked at both of them and they were holding each other up so as not to laugh.
“Shut up,” I whispered back.
Right after the classes finished we packed everything out but once again my dear teacher stopped me from leaving.
_ Drummond.
There was a time in the beginning when my new last name would have made me jump in surprise. But now I would respond to him without jumping.
_ Yes?
“I know you’re a married woman now, but I want you to understand that school is a learning place.
“I know,” I said, looking at her. “It will not happen again,” I promised.
“Great,” she continued, looking at me. “I hope so.
On the way to the car Kelly and Tessa were laughing out loud and making fun of me.
_ Seriously, everyone knew what you were thinking with that perverted smile of yours.
It was not a perverted smile.
_ I do not know not saw_ Tessa laughed_ For me it seemed perverted.
“My God, you guys are so boring.
They laughed again.
“Where are we going?” They asked me.
After I answered the joke began again.
_ Blue and black_ Paul is a man of few colors, Kelly told me.
“Come on, let’s not talk about my husband’s sexy preferences.
“You’re right,” Kelly agreed. “Let’s talk about your first time.
“Is not that the same thing?” Tessa asked.
I do not think I thought about it.
The store was huge and had panties and bras everywhere. One more beautiful than the other.
It was fun trying on clothes. We laughed and joked. We talk about everything and a little more. The girls and I do not shy away from my marriage. In fact, we became more connected.
Before my wedding we talked nonsense and stayed up late into the night. In my house or in theirs. It was an escape from my parents and my sister.
After the wedding things changed a bit, but we were still together. And at times like this it was what made it worth it. They helped me choose the clothes and bought more than I wanted to buy.
_ Dinner?
_ I can be_ replied with the shopping bags in hand_ Thank you very much_ thanked the saleswoman.
_ The pleasure was all mine _ She smiled politely_ Come back always.
We ate pizza at a pizzeria near by.
“Will it happen today?” Kelly asked me.
“I do not know,” I replied and really did not know.
“Anyway,” Tessa shrugged. “That was fun.
We laughed.
“Really,” Kelly agreed.
_ Thank you people.
_ No problems.
IN APARTMENT….
“These are lots of bags,” Paul commented.
He was sitting on the couch watching TV and looked at me as I entered.
“I may have exaggerated a little,” I told him, putting the bags on the floor beside the sofa.
I put my legs on his lap and sat on top of him. He wrapped his arms around my waist. His lips were so soft and warm. We kept kissing for a long time and things started to get hot but he pulled me away.
_ Do you have homework?
This question irritated me a lot. And what does it matter the crap of homework? I had thought we would not wait any longer.
“Are you serious?” I asked irritably.
He sighed but hugged me tight.
_ It’s a simple question …
_ You know? _ I interrupted him and pushed him away, getting up_ You’re right! I have homework to do and I want to take a shower. You can stay here doing what …. I do not know what I was doing before I arrived.
_ Is not it…
_ I do not care.
I grabbed my bags and went to our room slamming the door hard. That was a lot of spoiled girl thing but I did not care.
Worst of all was that he was making me sound like a pervert, a pervert who only thought about sex. I mean, what is it? He’s already 28 years old and holding on for a year. I understood the obvious age factor, but what is it?
Did not he do that to me? Do not you feel desire for me?
Doubts are breaking up with me.
