The Confusions Of Love - Chapter 5 Elizabeth
After meeting my sister’s “fiance” I confess that I stopped feeling sorry for him. And I kind of envied her. Incredibly beautiful and blue-eyed was the wet dream of any woman. And she was going to marry him. I talked to my friends in the school cafeteria the next day.
“He was more of the same,” agreed Kelly, “but I am much more his friend. Did you see those tattoos?
Tessa was writing something in the notbook but stopped what she was doing to talk to agent.
“As much as the two of them are, I’m not really interested in older men.” She paused for a moment to reflect, though she was not interested in boys of any age yet. I’m happy with my computer programs.
And he typed incredibly fast again. We stared for a while. How she could type like that was a mystery to me. I straightened my glasses.
Maybe it’s not so bad at this wedding. I just kept talking to Kelly since Tessa was busy. He’s beautiful and funny. And what is best for my sister he is rich.
_ That’s what I thought too_ Kelly agreed with me_ She does not have much to complain about him. Besides, she approached me keeping her voice low. Going to bed with him would not be a sacrifice.
“I think so, too.” I was embarrassed, for a minute I imagined myself in bed with him and definitely did not look bad to me.
_ Or, Or little sister_ Kelly laughed to my face_ Do not go there. He’s Emily’s fianc.
_ What? _ Disagreed raising me_ I did not go there.
_ Sei_ she laughed even more.
The bell rang. Kelly and I headed for the exit but Tessa did not follow us.
_ Come on this nerd_ Kelly called loudly, some people passed and laughed_ What was? Have you lost anything here? “Kelly asked irritably.
_ Calm calm. You called her a nerd. Of course some people would laugh, but she did not say that.
_ He_ she agreed_More I can. I’m her best friend.
_ Actually can not. I do not like being called a nerd, “Tessa snapped at us.
“What are you doing?” I asked interested. Tessa was always creating something. Programs, some viruses and sold to his father who owned a company of computers and software.
_ Not yet_ his voice showed dismay_ But I can finish this at home, after school.
Each one sat down in her chair.
_ A no _ Kelly said_ Today is Friday and my coach said we will not have training, let’s do something together. You can work on it later. Let’s go shopping, shopping.
Tessa shook her head, saying no.
_ I can not, I have to end this today. It’s for my father.
Kelly seemed to want to reply but I interrupted her.
I can not either. I took my cell phone and showed him the message my mother had sent me shortly.
_ Lunch with all the Drummond? Today after school, read aloud Kelly.
_ And worst of all _ I add_ My family goes too.
“Good luck,” they said together. And the teacher enters the room. We were silent.
Two hours later we were ready to go. With many homework and homework.
_ Anxious? _ Asked Kelly mocking as we walked the corridors.
_ Anxious for what? _ I asked trying to disguise and not wanting to admit that yes was a bit hopeful.
“Are you going to say you do not know?” Tessa asked, joking. Had she heard our conversation? Even stuck in the computer?
I decided not to respond and ran out the door.
“Do not run!” They shouted after me. I stepped on the stairs.
The screams of warning came too late, and the ground came quickly. I closed my eyes expecting the pain and embarrassment they would see next. But the pain did not come. Someone’s arms went around my waist, holding me tight. I fall, but it falls on someone.
I looked down and found myself with none other than Greg Timberg. I hurried to get up.
_ I’m so sorry. Are you ok? “I asked worriedly.
He stood up smiling.
_ Do not worry about me. Are you okay?
_ Yes, thank you_ the girls reached me.
“Are you okay?” They asked worriedly.
“Yes,” I said, still looking at Greg’s smiling face.
“Not that I do not like girls falling in my arms, but you should be careful, Lisa.
“I do not fall into your arms,” I said quickly. “It was an accident.
“You can have as many accidents as you want in my arms,” he smirked.
Before she could answer Jennifer Stone came and glared at me.
“Greg dear, are you okay?” He asked in a honeyed voice, wrapping his arms around him.
“I’m fine,” he replied with a grimace, staring at her.
Kelly, Tessa and I looked at each other. Whatever Jennifer decided to do with me, she had to wait. Just in time Jame came honking.
“Wow, just in time,” I told them. “I have to go.
Running out again, but this time I paid attention. I got in the car and hurried to the restaurant. My cell phone beeped loudly.
_ Traidora_ the message in the group said_ It was bad_ typed.
_ Forget_ Tesse typed_ Good luck at lunch.
Thanks. I’ll call you guys later.
_ OK.
At the entrance to the restaurant I gave my name to the maitre d ‘.
_ Raymond.
He looked at the sheet in his hand. Then he looked up at my clothes. School uniform, coke hair, and my round black glasses. I looked fine, or maybe not. Well, I came straight from school there were not many options.
He took me to the table where everyone had already come and they were in their places.
“Here she is.” My mother opened a fake smile as she stood up and hugged me, pulling me close so I could introduce myself. “This is our youngest. Elisabeth.
“Very pleased Mr. and Mrs. Drummond,” I adjusted my glasses.
_ No such formalities are required. Call me Olivia-Paul’s mother was a very beautiful and refined woman.
Thank you I sat down putting my backpack on my side. My friends call me Lisa.
_ Lisa_ she repeated smiling, pointed to what I was wearing_ I loved your uniform.
My and my sister looked at me as if I were a disgrace.
“Did not you change your clothes?” Emily frowned.
_ The message said lunch after school_ shrugged_ I came straight from school. There was no time.
I felt his gaze on me and I stared at him as he was sitting across from me. He smiled.
Elisabeth again, her voice called, drew the men’s attention to the table.
“Did they already know each other?” His father asked. I blushed.
“We met yesterday,” I said without much will “At the nightclub The Heaven.
_ Jake’s nightclub_ he stopped for a while and looked at me again _ But you’re a minor right?
_ We just went out to dance _ I enjoyed defending myself _ We did not do anything too bad.
My parents looked annoyed at me, it seemed like I did something wrong again. And Paul came to my rescue.
_ It is true_ he said calm_ She danced and did not drink anything. Jake and I stayed with them all the time, nothing much happened.
A giggle came from Olivia and she looked at me with those who knew things.
_ I remember when I was your age_ she winked at me_ I did the same thing.
_ Dear Mr. Drummond, do not give a bad example to the girl.
_ What’s it? This is normal at her age. “She approached me looking closely at my uniform.” In my day we did not wear uniforms like that. I really enjoyed the skirt.
_ I also like_ I counted smiling _ But in the cold it is a bit uncomfortable.
“I imagine,” she laughed. “I miss being young.
Everyone laughed, some tense. And lunch was long. That day they decided everything about marriage. The bride and groom were talking and I was just observing the table interaction. No one seemed to notice the look on my sister’s face. But I did notice. It did not look good.
