- Chapter 470: humanitys superhero imagination elite clark pendragon
6 months ago, the sky turned red which according to world leaders signified the start of the war that would decide the fate of humanity.
2 months prior, the news was finally publicized, spreading worldwide panic but with all the most powerful world leaders working together, the panic was easily curbed and order was restored.
According to the government, humanity was not hopeless, they had heroes in the form of their soldiers and elite soldiers.
Not only that, humanity had a superhero, the great Elite Commander Clark Pendragon. After the special training started, a fuse seemed to have been switched on as the Spartan soldier experienced a period of rapid growth.
With veteran Elite Commanders around to guide him and with every resource he needed available, he encountered no bottlenecks, he improved at a superhuman speed never recorded since the human race was born.
In just 4 months, he broke through 2 times, going all the way to the Elite-grade rank. His rise was nothing short of legendary and trailblazing.
The Elite-grade rank was further subdivided into the low realm, the middle realm, and the high realm. Most Elite powerhouses were at the low realm.
Powerhouses like Elite Commander Titus, Helix, and Arnold were at the middle realm but only one Elite Commander have taken that step into the high realm, it was the Greek Destroyer, Achilles.
Right now, the human prodigy Elite Commander Clark was already at the middle realm. He just needed to take one difficult step forward before he would get to the power level of humanity’s current ace, Elite Commander Achilles.
And according to the Prophecy Elite, Arnold, the high realm was not the peak for the chosen one. The chosen one had the potential of breaking through an entirely new realm, and he named it the Imagination realm.
At this realm, things that humans, even Elite Commanders perceived as impossible would be proven possible. The Imagination realm was built upon imagination, and nothing was impossible before the mind.
Anything imaginable by the Elite Commander at that realm was possible. When he thought of thunder, thunder struck. When he thought of fire, volcanoes erupt and fiery meteors fall down from the skies.
This was just a fragment of the capabilities of an Elite Commander at the Imagination realm, and this was the hope of humanity.
The war already started, but humanity still had hope that the chosen one would be able to break through the 2 realms holding him back simultaneously to herald the power of imagination.
With this hope in mind, it was the only reason why humanity still persevered against the frightening power of the Lauren beings.
For the non-combatant humans who were still living on earth, the red sky was their lifeline. According to the Aragan President, the red sky was the peak of technology accomplished by humans.
It was an energy shield encompassing the whole earth. If the red sky was ever breached, it meant humanity lost the war and the consequences were numerous, even as severe as total annihilation to extinction.
All hopes were placed on the red sky and the chosen one.
At this time, the remaining humans on earth had no choice but to daily keep on hoping for the best. Seeing the red sky every morning was their daily medication to prevent them from dying from anxiety and fear.
It was at these trying times that games were introduced back on earth. Sports and video games became the normal again, because they were the only catalyst to prevent mass-death from fear and anxiety.
With people focusing on sports, they could at least turn their attention away from the war a bit to reduce the negative effects that it brought.
…
6 years after the war started.
To the surprise of the Lauren beings, they finally encountered a surface planet that gave them fierce resistance. Their thoughts of steamrolling through the natives like usual was ruthlessly crushed to the ground.
At first, when the war just started, humans died like a group of moths flying towards fire. The death rate was frightening high, but this trend changed as the war continued dragging on.
Slowly, humanity grew stronger and started fighting back. As more soldiers broke through, as more high-grade soldiers became elites, the potential power of humanity started being unleashed.
4 years ago, the human prodigy, Elite Commander Clark broke through to the high realm but the Imagination realm has always eluded him for 4 years now.
When all hopes of breaking through seemed to have been lost and the war turning bitter, the chosen one broke through.
The day when he broke through to the Imagination realm, the chaos power raging in space responded in strange patterns like they just witnessed the birth of a chaos God.
This was all humanity needed, their time was now. For 6 years, the humans back on earth were kept on the dark from the proceedings of the war but after the chosen one broke through, a piece of news circulated.
The human army finally no longer wanted to defend passively, they were now ready to take it a step further and attack.
This attack was scheduled to start the previous day, which meant that right now, humanity already started an aggressive attack against the Laurens.
Due to the nature of the war, in preparations for the possible invasion of the Lauren beings, earth was already unified again and all the countries were combined to form 6 shelters.
At the 4th shelter, a group of kids played football passionately in a newly built football field as their parents spectated from the sides, cheering them on.
At this moment, the time was already 90+4 mins and only 5 mins was given for extra time. Both side’s score was tied 3-3, but a boy who was the striker of the team in blue was currently with the ball running with momentum across the pitch as a swift counter-attack started.
The commentators were hyped for this counterattack as their voices blasted through the speakers. “Champ Pendragon is with the ball, playing a series of 1-2s with his companion striker, Dennis Josh”.
“He enters the opposition 18 box, he dribbles pass 1, 2, 3, and he shoots…!”
“Goal!!!”
“What a goal! And he scores a hattrick in his 5th consecutive match!”
After scoring the goal, the little boy, filled with the euphoria of victory ran across the pitch, celebrated with his teammates before sprinting to the stands towards where his mom stood.
On getting there, he stood for a few seconds before hugging his mom.
He raised both his hands up, pointing a finger on each hand at the skies which was already his trademark celebration, paying tribute to the red sky and the soldiers fighting in the war.
All these were negligible though, the celebration was mostly for his dad who he had only seen in photos and posters.
With a wide smile on his face, he muttered besides his mom’s ears.
“For Dad!”
THE END.
