The Copy Mage - Chapter 231: Backed Against A Wall
Kong was very astute and after living its entire life in a forest and feeling bored and restricted, Damian and Milo were the first humans it came across and was very intrigued by them.
Since bonding with Damian and following him back to the academy, he had been able to observe so many interesting and different people.
Cole was one that it had observed closely and he observed that as Cole became more fired up and excited during a battle, the stronger he became and the more power he could unleash.
However, it also observed that his attacks would become wilder while his ability seemed to influence his character, making it so that he thought less about his attacks.
Knowing that, Kong drew out his powerful spinning back fist attack, and as soon as he used it against Kong, it suddenly shrunk into its smaller form.
With its enhanced speed in that form, it burst through Cole’s legs as he spun around and attempted to strike Kong in the head with the powerful spinning strike he liked to use.
Cole couldn’t react since he was mid-attack, while Kong’s speed was too fast for him to react to anyway, leaving Matilda wide open for Kong to take down.
However, Kong was by no means underestimating Matilda and knew that she was also just as capable as Cole.
As Kong pounced towards her, Matilda was able to react quickly enough to produce another Sonic Cry Beam.
Kong was aiming for her face, so he was in line with her mouth and fired the Sonic Cry Beam towards the small monkey beast.
It was slightly weaker than the previous Sonic Cry Beams that she had used since she hadn’t had much time to activate it while she was also beginning to run low on energy, but at such close range, it was more than enough to deal Kong a powerful blow.
However, they never expected that Kong would be able to move in mid-air using the unique technique that he created.
Kong was able to make movements in mid-air through a series of muscle interactions all around its body that would release a burst of power from his body.
The burst of power would launch it in the opposite direction and he created it while watching Damian and others.
It was a technique that only Kong could use or pull off since it was impossible for people’s bodies to be able to have such precise muscle control and also be able to expand and compress them as they pleased.
The Muscle Burst Movement that he formed wasn’t as effective in mid-air as it was on the ground or when compared to that of Damian, but it was capable of small manoeuvres and gave Kong an edge over its opponent.
Dodging the Sonic Cry Beam, Kong launched himself towards Matilda and struck her with its knee.
Not only had it gathered a lot of force and momentum when launching itself towards Matilda who wasn’t prepared or expecting to be attacked, but Kong had also reverted to his large form.
That made it so that the knee strike to the head was more than enough to take her down and Kong had to hold back his strength, not wanting to deal her serious or permanent damage, only wanting to knock her unconscious.
Kong had taken down one of its two opponents and had completely surpassed all of their expectations, while also displaying great skill, intelligence and combat prowess that surpassed most cultivators.
During that time, Damian, Milo and Julia hadn’t sat idly and were also battling with their full power.
However, Damian hadn’t been as successful in taking down any of his opponents.
Damian had been on the defensive against Milo’s attacks that continued to become stronger and faster the more power he drew from his beast transformation.
Along with that, Julia had also prepared a powerful attack that she unleashed suddenly while Milo was fighting with Damian.
It was an attack that she fused many Water Skills to produce and was her ultimate skill that used up a lot of her energy, but allowed her to unleash unbelievable power.
She called it the Water Dragon Blast since when releasing the attack, the spiral water blast that was released appeared similar to what dragons were rumoured to look like in old legends.
Milo was in sync with Julia and despite them usually clashing in a joking manner, their attacks were coherent and their teamwork very impressive.
As soon as she unleashed the attack, Milo launched himself into the air, leaving Damian wide open.
Despite Damian also being very fast and having multiple skills that could allow him to experience a burst of speed, he was backed against the wall by Milo’s attacks.
Along with that, he didn’t have enough time to react to it since Milo had been blocking his vision and occupying all of his focus with his rapid flurry of endless attacks.
Her attack wasn’t fully developed and was very unstable, requiring more practice, control and refinement, but it was still extremely fast and powerful.
Damian had no choice but to enter his Shadow Form in order to dodge the attack.
He disappeared for a second and the Water Dragon Blast struck the wall, before Damian reappeared with a smile on his face.
Damian had never used that in front of them before, but he had practised it while training alone or sparring privately with Kong.
Through that, Damian could sustain the form for much longer and also use it much more comfortably without straining his body, but it was still risky.
He knew that it was impossible for one to be invincible and also knew that his body was only able to use such a skill without some sort of ability or special physique that suited the Shadow Element, because his body could adapt and master anything and everything.
However, at times like that when he was facing an unavoidable attack, it was an incredible capability to have in his arsenal, while he could also integrate it into his attacks if he wanted to.
