The Copy Mage - Chapter 234: End Of The Gruelling Battle
Unlike Matilda, Cole wouldn’t be regaining consciousness for a while and was likely to suffer a concussion after running into a powerful joint attack from Damian and Kong, but the battle was still relatively even.
Damian’s Internal Energy was running very low, while his body was also fatigued.
Along with that, he had a rough idea of Kong’s limit and knew that it wasn’t far.
The same could be said for the three opponents that were left, so their last exchange of attacks would decide the victor.
The battle was a gruelling one and with all of them putting their all into it, the battle didn’t end until all of them were slumped on the ground and barely able to move.
All of them put on an impressive display and showed great power, drive and determination, and even after their Internal Energy ran out, brawled until their bodies could no longer handle it due to fatigue and injuries they suffered
Lying around the sparring hall, all of them lay down drenched in blood and sweat as they panted heavily, while Kong was fast asleep by Damian’s side.
It wasn’t until 20 minutes later that Cole regained consciousness and when he did; he felt very dizzy, light-headed and confused.
He couldn’t remember much of what had happened, but looking around and taking a moment, everything started to come back to him.
Nobody moved or said anything for another half an hour, all trying to recover slightly and Damian was the first to get up.
“We should all go to the infirmary and get treated there so that were are sure our bodies are at their best before the Inner Academy Examination,” he said as he carried the sleeping Kong in one arm and helped up Milo with the other.
“I don’t think Cole needs to come. He was sleeping and missed out on most of the battle,” teased Milo.
Cole was calm and wouldn’t really get bothered much by what others said, however something deep within him was annoyed by their words and wanted to fight such a tough and fun battle again.
With his hardening ability and strong body, he would usually always be the last one standing and no one could take him down, and yet he fought the least in that battle.
Heading to the infirmary they all received curious and confused looks from the students as they walked by.
That group was known for its strength and independence from any student faction, so seeing them all beaten up so much, the students couldn’t help but spark rumours.
However, Damian and his group of friends didn’t care about what other students had to say about them and headed straight to the infirmary.
The elder in charge of the infirmary that had a powerful healing Soul Spirit personally healed and checked on their bodies, which she usually wouldn’t do unless it was a special case or someone important.
Damian was the direct disciple of the great elder and she was friends with him, however, that still wasn’t reason enough for her to personally heal them, as her character was quite stubborn and arrogant, while e Damian and his friends weren’t severely injured to the point of death.
But what she liked about the group of friends was their loyalty towards each other, along with their tenacity, courage and drive, that would allow them to live great lives.
“How did all of you manage to get this tired and injured?” she asked.
If they were beaten within the academy, she could look into it and although conflict between students was normal, they would need to fight in official battles.
“There is no need to worry, we were just sparring with each other and hardly held back,”
Hearing that, she could help but become annoyed and scold them all, but the group of youths just smiled, and it was clear that they were all planning on having a battle like that again.
She checked on all their bodies and created a large Radiant Bubble using her ability and the group of youths were encompassed the Radiant Bubble’s healing power.
The elder didn’t need to push herself as much as when she had to heal Milo after he was beaten down by Trevor, however, her ability was one that was very tiring and draining to use.
After she finished her healing, Damian bowed his head to her respectfully, and the others followed suit.
“Now it seems I owe you two favours. Thanks for the help,”
Unlike the first time Damian met her, he spoke with genuine respect and knew that she had looked out for him many times during elder meetings.
“Don’t worry about it, kids. Just make sure you succeed and stay safe,” she said before leaving.
Damian and the others took the time they had in the infirmary room to recover as best as they could after the healing that was provided to them by the elder.
After an hour, all of them felt rejuvenated, and they all knew that the rest of their recovery would require them to rest and need them to eat enough food.
Heading back to their residence, they all cleaned themselves up and changed their clothes before meeting again in the small living room area that they had in their residence.
“Who’s hungry?”
“Me,”
“Me too,”
“We are all hungry,”
“The let’s go and get some nice food and put together all of our contribution points if we need to”
They all agreed to Milo’s suggestion and together, they had quite a few contribution points.
The one that surprisingly had the least was Damian after all the beast cores and valuables that he had gathered in the beast areas were taken by the crazy mercenary group leader.
However, his friends were more than willing to share with him and they all enjoyed a couple of days of resting and enjoying themselves together.
They gave their bodies enough time to recover, and they did some basic exercises and mental training, but allowed their bodies to rest and enjoy themselves.
Time flew by and the time for the Inner Academy Examination arrived before they knew it.
