Fauna Kent’s POV

I had been waking up for the last hour as the dawn was settling in our bedroom. Our clothes were everywhere as the sheets between us were tangled. My legs were intertwined with Adam’s as he was sleeping soundly right next to me.

I was staring at his beautiful face as I was playing with one of his black curls and I was pushing it out of his face. He was stirring for a bit before his hand was pulling me closer to him.

“Good morning, meu amor. Sleep well?” He asked me as I was nuzzling his chest. well, he might have been waking up hours ago before I did. I giggled at the thought.

“what’s so funny?” He asked me as he was nuzzling my hair. I traced his chest with my fingers before he caught it and kissed them.

“the housekeeper came just now. And they made this for us, to welcome us,” he said as he went to kiss me while handing me a mug of coffee.

“Thanks,” I said as I went to take a seat beside him before he pulled me onto his laps. I laughed before I continued to eat the omelet that he was feeding with his mouth.

god, this man was not sated yet.

I was eating from his mouth like a baby bird and drinking his cup of coffee. He took it black but I get used to the taste already because his mouth was sweet and tasty with an omelet.

Just how you like it, my dark mind said and I agreed with that statement.

After breakfast, we were out of the house. It was 10 AM but the sun was shining and I was forced to wear a hat and sunglasses, in addition to the sunscreen.

Adam was wearing a casual shirt underneath his flannel and black jean. He had his sandal on and his hair was disheveled at its best. He had his sunglasses on that made him even more mysterious than ever.

“ready?” He asked me as I went to slide inside his car.

“as I will ever be,” I said as I fastened the seatbelt and Adam drove to our first destination of today.

I was looking at the beach as the villa was near it. I can see this evening will be spending some time over there. I was contented that Adam pulled my hand and kissed its knuckles before settled it on his laps. I smiled as I was looking at our hands.

“you are in for a surprise, meu amor. I have booked for a tour at Madeira’s very own vineyard,” he said as he looked at me briefly before he looked at the road again.

“what? You did not,” I said as I laughed at him. It was one of the famous vineyards of Portugal as Madeira’s wine was one to indulge in and fortified for a souvenir.

“the owner was a friend of my dad and his son was my childhood friend. He has invited us to meet his family. He wanted to meet you, my wife,” he said as he was turning right and entered a vineyard that was stretching for yards. But he did not stop at the factory front, instead, he was parking the car at the office entrance for the visitor.

I guess befriend a vineyard owner has its perks.

Adam parked the car and went out. He went to my side and opened the door for me. It was a nice gesture before someone in his 20s was coming in our way.

“Adam,” he said as he went to kiss his cheeks and hugged him like a brother. I saw he was wearing a wedding band. well, he’s married before he took my hand and kissed them.

“and you must be Fauna. Adam’s talked a lot about you,” he said as he kissed my cheeks.

“well, I hope the good stuff,” I said before they laughed.

“of course, now come. Let’s meet my family,” he said as he went to the house that was situated behind the office. I went to walk hand-in-hand with Adam.

“what’s his name?” I asked him as I was curious to know about him. He opened the door before I saw a woman in the kitchen and two kids were coming at him.

“Papa!” The kids shouted before he went to hug them. They kissed him on the cheeks as he asked about their behaviors.

“Hello, Uncle Adam!” They said before they went to hug Adam. Adam laughed as they were kissing his cheeks and asked how they were doing.

“who is that lady?” One of the kids asked me in Portuguese as I was looking at them. I arched my eyebrows before Adam looked at me.

“that was a vampire that wanted to suck your blood,” Adam teased them before they went out of the living room. I smacked his hand playfully before Adam laughed.

“Enough with that. I’m sorry. They never had anyone coming over besides Adam,” Adam’s friend said.

“Sorry, I don’t get your name,”

“it’s Sandro,” he said as he guided us to the kitchen. When we were in the kitchen, Sandro helped his wife to prepare for the brunch and we were helping to set the table.

“Mario, Sandra, come eat,” his wife, Clara called after them. Mario and Sandra came immediately before they took the usual spot at the table. I was beside Adam as Sandra was in front of me.

“Hands together,” Sandro said as we joined hands and we said our prayers. We went to dig in as Sandra wanted some stew onto her plate.

“here you go,” I said as I scooped some and put it on her plate. She thanked me before I smiled at her.

“so, how long will you stay here?” Sandro asked us as I was scooping for some stew into my mouth.

“2 weeks, I think if we don’t have any other prior engagement that will disturb us from having our honeymoon,” Adam replied as he looked at me. I blushed as I sipped some water.

“well, we might be hearing the news for the new addition to the family in the next weeks then,” Sandro said that made me choked on my drink. Adam looked at me concerned before I dabbed my napkins on my mouth.

“oh, don’t tell me you already have,” Clara chided in after her husband.

“no, no. we were not ready for kids yet,” I replied as I looked at Adam. He took my hand as he was understanding that our journey just merely began.

“So, Adam, how’s that crime that you were investigating?” Sandro asked as he was sipping on his wine.

“well, we caught the mastermind and I think she will be gone for a very long time,”

“well, that’s good to hear. I don’t want any more damage done after what she had done,” Sandro said as Clara took his hand.

“Why is that?” I blurted out before I can stop myself. They were all looking at me before I blinked my eyes.

“Sorry, if that was a personal question, you can forget about it,” I said as I wanted the floor to sink me right now. Adam gripped my hands.

“Yeah, I bet she will be receiving the right punishment for her crime. I almost lost Fauna because of her,” Adam said as he looked at Sandro. He seemed surprised.

“oh, Adam, I’m glad she was okay,” he replied to Adam as he looked at me. Clara did the same thing as she smiled weakly at me.

“was she kidnapped?”

“yes, I was. And I think I might die at that moment if I lose hope that Adam will find me,” I replied as I looked at Adam. He smiled sweetly before we changed topic and we were laughing as Mario said that he wanted to be like Adam.

“well, toughen up, son. Maybe you will replace me later,” Adam said as we were saying goodbye to Sandro and his family.

“come visit more often, Florenz,” Sandro said as he was hugging Adam and he kissed my cheeks. Adam kissed Clara’s cheeks before she hugged me. We said goodbye to the kids as well before Sandro gave something for our honeymoon.

“here’s some gift for you guys. And congratulations on your wedding,” Sandro said as we went to Adam’s car.

“They were nice,”

“I know and they seem to like you,” Adam said as he looked at me. I scoffed at him.

“Everyone likes me, okay?”

“Yeah, sure,” he chuckled as he opened the door and I slid inside. He put the gift in the trunk before he went to the driver seat and sped off to our next destination. I never knew what the gift was but by the looks of it, I bet it was Madeira wines.
