The Croesus’ Bride [Completed] - 103 Chapter 103:Epilogue
Fauna Kent’s POV
I have been having this stomach cramp and nausea every morning. I did not know what it was until I looked up online. It stated that I was pregnant. I instantly touched my stomach as I was looking at myself in the mirror. It was not bad, having our child when we just started to share our lives.
“Fauna, come. I made you breakfast,” Adam called for me as I was staring at myself in the mirror. We did not continue our honeymoon after that breaking news and we have moved in together into his house. His parents were given this house as a wedding gift.
“Hey, why are you staring at yourself like that, mmm?” He asked me as he was kissing my neck. I chuckled as I turned to look at him.
“Well, I’m famished right now,” I said as I went out of the bathroom before he can kiss me. He chuckled as I was walking toward the table and sat in front of the food. It was delicious as Adam was learning to make scrambled eggs and omelets by himself. I was impressed.
“Well, I think this was nice. Did you do all these by yourself?” I asked him as he plopped himself next to me. He kissed me for a good morning before he smirked at me.
“I have a very good teacher,” he said as I pulled the fork and I put some omelet into my mouth. It was cheesy nonetheless.
“Did you improvise my ingredient?” I asked him as I arched my eyebrow. He smirked before he put some into his mouth.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” he said as I was popping more omelet inside my mouth until I sensed something that made my stomach churned. I was about to puke before I hold my mouth and I went to the bathroom.
I was propping myself in front of the toilet bowl as I was emptying my stomach into that bowl. Adam came in later as he pulled my hair and let me pushed out all the food that I had.
“Sorry,” I said as I was grabbing some paper towels and dabbed my mouth.
“No, it’s fine, meu amor. I think you need to rest for a while, okay?” He asked me as I just nodded. I don’t even have any strength to fight or stand in that matter. I just let him carried me into the bed as I was slipping into the duvet.
“I’ll some hot tea with lemon okay?” He said as he kissed me. I nodded before he kissed my forehead. My eyes felt heavy as I was looking around. It was nice as I took in the bedroom that I shared for the first night that I gave myself to Adam.
It was not much, it was a minimalist style as I was looking around. Adam has some books that I might want to read later but I was slowly slipping into darkness as I closed my eyes and sleep claimed me.
Adam Florenz’s POV
I returned to the bedroom after Fauna was emptying her stomach content. It was not easy but it was what it was. She was experiencing something that I cannot tell what it was. So, I did everything that I can to help her get better.
I put the hot tea with lemon on the night table before I looked at the figure that was breathing slowly in her sleep. I smiled as I loved to look at her angelic face. It was so cute and I think that it was nice to look at her sleeping figure before someone rang my phone. I groaned as I left Fauna to sleep.
“Hello?” I know that number anywhere and I felt like I don’t want to answer it but my hand has another thing coming for it I supposed.
“Well, look who finally answered their phone,” Danial’s annoying voice made me pinched my nose bridge.
“Hello Danial,” I said as I sighed. He chuckled before I rolled my eyes.
“So, do you have a good time with that bride of yours?”
“That was none of your business,” I said as I was looking at the opened bedroom door. Fauna’s feet were showing. I smiled for a while as I cannot pay attention to what Danial was saying to me right now.
“Earth to Adam. gosh, ever since you were married, you hardly pay any attention,” he whined as I took a seat on the sofa. I chuckled.
“What can I say I was happy and I think I might be happier with the news later on,” I said as I was opening my laptop to do some business-related stuff.
“Woah, did I just heard the news? Fauna’s pregnant?” He asked me. I cleared my throat before I smiled.
“maybe, I think so. I guess,” I said as I was typing away about some business security for a celebrity.
“Okay, so listen, remember when you told me that you wanted to know about your wife’s sister whereabout?” He asked me.
“Yeah?”
“Well, I cannot trace it. I don’t see any Flora Kent’s name appeared anywhere. She was that good at hiding,” he said. I sighed as I leaned on the chair.
“Huh, well that was something,” I said as I was rubbing my temple.
“I think she was off the grid and when I asked another person on the field, they never heard about Flora Kent,”
“Are you sure? What about the printed version of her name? achievements? works? colleagues?” I asked him.
“None and there was no record of any of that either,”
“It’s looked like we were chasing a ghost,” I said as I was looking at Fauna’s movement in the bed.
“Well, we talk about this later. I have to go now,” I said before I hung up on Danial. I went to the bedroom and Fauna was stirring in bed as she looked at me.
“I think my stomach hurts. Can we go to the hospital?” She asked me after she sipped on her tea.
“Okay, I get the keys,” I said as I helped her to get up and we went to the nearest hospital in Seattle.
I mean I could have just called my family doctor to come to my house or maybe her family doctor. That would save us a lot of time. But here we were, at the exam room with a doctor that was scanning Fauna’s stomach.
“Well, I was relieved to say that you were not sick in any form. You just have the worst cramp, that’s all,” the doctor said as she put away the scanner and we looked at the doctor.
“So, I was not having a baby or something?” She asked as I was squeezing her hand.
“No, you just have some food poisoning is all. That would explain the vomit and nausea,” she explained before she excused herself and we were back out of the exam room again.
“Well, that’s that,” she said as she was looking at me. I smiled at her as I was pulling her to walk with me to the car.
As we were approaching the car, Fauna stopped all of a sudden. I turned to look at her as she was staring at the ground.
“Fauna, what’s wrong?” I asked her as she was looking into my eyes. Her green eyes were shining now brimming with tears. I cupped her face with my hands.
“Hey, hey hey. What’s wrong? Why are you crying, meu amor?” I asked her as I was caressing her hair. I smiled at her before she hugged me. I was taken back but I hugged her as well.
“I’m sorry,” was all that she said all over again and again.
“Why are you sorry?”
“I thought you might hear the other news,” she said as she looked into my eyes. I smiled at her before I kissed her on the lips. She whimpered before I hugged her again.
“No, I don’t but I cannot help but think that where you might have that food poisoning. I was sure to make that my cooking will be nice and perfect and I cannot let that happened to you again. I cannot let you have food poisoning again,” I said as I was caressing her face. She smiled at me before she said what was on her mind.
“I don’t think I was ready to have kids yet, Adam. I was not ready,” she said as I looked at her.
“Then, we wait as long as you need to get ready before we have our kids on our own,”
“But you like kids. I see the way you treat Sandro’s kids back in Madeira,” she said. I laughed.
“Yeah, I am. but I don’t want you to feel the burden of it as I was the only one excited to have kids. We can wait and I can have you all to myself at that time then,” I said as I was wiggling my eyebrows at her. Fauna laughed and how I missed her laugh.
“Well, you’re insatiable, Mr. Florenz,”
“Well, only for you, my dear,” I said before I opened the door and I helped her to get inside the car. I went to my side before I sped off and we were going home. later that evening, Fauna had her period and I think we were far from having a kid right now.
But I will wait until we were ready to have kids together and I think Fauna will be an excellent mother.
