The Crystals - 44 A little bit of rest.
“I am sorry but I should escape this town before they come for me.”
Immediately, Red-1 raised one of his arms with his palm facing the roof of the tent.
‘Rusty wind.’ He shot a reddish gas which blew the tent away, exposing Zohaifa to the public.
“Um… I am sorry about the incident; I didn’t mean to destroy half the town.”
A moment of silence prevailed along with commoners’ stare at Zohaifa.
A sudden burst of laughter erupted from the crowd.
“We are just happy that we are saved from the absorpian.”
“It’s just a small sacrifice compared to what the absorpian did to us.”
Zohaifa stared with disbelief at the crowd, “Are you saying there was no death due to my attack?”
“No, our population already became tiny because of the absorpian. So, most of the town is empty. As a result, it missed every townies.”
With a smile, Zohaifa replied, “At least we could all see a happy ending.”
Then, Zohaifa inspected his body, “I don’t have any injuries. Why did you bandage me all over?”
Red-1 answered, “Yeah, we noticed you had no injuries. But it didn’t make any sense. After all, I witnessed firsthand all the injuries you had. So, we were just confused about what to do. So I bandaged you all over.”
Zohaifa giggled and said, “That was so dumb of you.”
Changing his mood, he said, “But I still feel tired though. I feel like I have got my life sucked out.”
“In that case, you shall rest,” advised Red-1, “Move out, move out. Let him rest. He had to work hard. He is tired. Shoo, shoo.”
The townspeople went back to their home, while Red-1 took Zohaifa to one of the abandoned home to sleep.
Zohaifa peacefully went to sleep. It started raining. A thunder woke Zohaifa up. He sat in the gloomy room, the darkness of the outside rain enhanced whose darkness.
“I should bid the townies goodbye now,” he said.
But as he intended to get up, suddenly a hand came out of from underneath the bed and grabbed Zohaifa’s leg.
“AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!” Zohaifa screamed.
Zohaifa tried to pull his legs away. But when he did, it seems like the hand was not attached to a body.
“Did I rip the person’s arm off? Is he still under the bed? I don’t wanna check.”
Zohaifa slowly went towards the exit while facing the bed, “There is no way it can reach me all the way out here.”
Zohaifa opened the door and instead of getting out, he found himself in another room.
“Did the house changed its structure? Is that even possible?”
He noticed a girl staring at her from a room. Her eyes seemed familiar. As soon as Zohaifa got aware of her, she quickly hid under the room.
“Wait. Tell me what’s happening. Damn, it’s a cliché ghost story after all.”
Zohaifa slowly entered the room as he thought the girl looked similar. But when he did, it was the absorpian staring at him. Red-1 dead body is lying on the floor.
“No, this can’t be,” Zohaifa told himself in frustration.
With the speed of a snake’s bite, Zohaifa was choked by her suddenly.
Zohaifa woke up with shock. The sky is brighter than ever.
“Come on, Author. Don’t get the reader’s excited like that because of a nightmare? I was so damn scared.”
